This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of June, 1930, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [195].
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. [195] and Mr. [900].]
Time of Reading 12:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ohio. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: This body we have had before. Some conditions are not so good; some changes show, that may be turned into betterments for the physical forces, though they act as of an aggravating nature at the present.
-
As we find, there seems little or no reason why the breaking up of scar tissue along the Eustachian tubes, with the application of those vibrations that become of the more positive nature for the system, shouldn’t aid tissue in becoming more active THROUGH the auditory forces [to overcome partial loss of hearing]. Still, there are those strains from the more sedative character of activity, that make for drainages that are not good THROUGH the trunk portion of the system, and CAUSE more of an activity in liver than is well for the system.
-
The body should WALK more, or exercise more in the open, and exercise more with the hands going UPWARD, over the head. THIS character of exercise, WITH the vibration [of Radio-Active Appliance], WITH those of the breakings up [osteopathically] - again and again - of those conditions in throat, along Eustachian tubes, should be MOST beneficial.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) How break up the scar tissue on the Eustachian tubes? (A) That should be done through the treatments [osteopathically] in and through the palate, and the massaging of same EXTERNALLY; for there is, as seen, an accumulation. While the vibratory forces of the positive nature POUND against, as it were, the supply of the blood forces attempting to be sent through that portion of system, the scar tissue only makes for an aggravation and IRRITATION to portions OF the system, unless this be broken up, that the blood supply may go THROUGH.
-
(Q) In treating through the palate, does he give it far enough back? (A) Not far enough back, nor far enough forward - for these should be broken up, that come closer to the back. It will hurt, sure! but the ADVANTAGES of that being set up should be taken at this time.
-
(Q) Are there any mental exercises that would help? (A) Raising of the consciousness from within, of the equalization of the circulation as to stimulating and removing from those portions of the system drosses - these will aid.
-
(Q) How often should the Eustachian tubes be massaged? [GD’s note: This technique is known as osteopathic finger surgery.] (A) About every other week.
-
(Q) Should he take any manipulation of the cervicals? (A) He SHOULD! because these adjustments keep, in this region, those of the equalized pressures as come from the central BLOOD supply; so that, with the mental attributes aiding, and also the vibratory forces aiding, these are more easily carried through their nominal channels.
Do that. This we would have every three or four days, GOOD, THROUGH working out, all along the CERVICAL region, even to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd dorsal region.
- We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. GD’S note: The ear treatments were being given by Dr. L. A. Lydic, a general practitioner of osteopathy and not an osteopathic specialist in eye, ear, nose and throat. However, we later heard that Dr. Lydic went back to the college of osteopathy and became an eye, ear, nose and throat specialist.
R2. 7/5/30 He wrote: “As usual I am working about all the time and am getting tired. Am going to try and get away for a couple of weeks and motor on down to Va. Beach, leaving about the 15th… I want to get in a bathing suit and loaf and swim for a week and forget all the cares that so easily beset me.”
[See subsequent notations under 195-70 Reports, also 195-14 Reports.]
R3. 2/21/40 He reported on 73-1.
R4. 2/27/40 He reported on 97-2.
R5. 3/6/61 He wrote he was again trying out the Radio-Active Appliance.
R6. 6/67 GD’s note: Mr. [195] visited A.R.E. He was very chipper and did not seem to be at all handicapped by a loss of hearing; neither was a hearing aid visible. I am sure he continued treatments by Dr. Lydic, who had become a specialist in the osteopathic method of treating eye, ear, nose and throat conditions, and the condition was at last overcome. He indicated that he had charted his life according to the Edgar Cayce readings.
R7. 10/24/71 GD’s note: Recently we heard that Mr. [195] had died about a year ago.
