This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of July, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1952], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:50 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, New York.

1. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions that may be asked.

2. EC: Yes, we have had this body here before.

3. As we find, if there would be the beginning of those applications that have been suggested, we might add to these AS developments come, for the improvement and help for those conditions with which that indicated is apparently not in keeping, - yet these have all been taken into consideration.

4. DO that OUTLINED!

5. After this has been done for some two to three weeks, THEN there may be those things added.

6. These - the vibratory forces, the body-building forces, and especially the rubs - are to change the vibrations so that there may be the EFFECTUAL activity to eliminate those poisons from the system that cause the arthritic reaction of an inflammatory nature.

7. DO that.

R1. 2/17/40 HLC’s letter to [1952]:

Dear Miss [1952]

In checking through our files I find that my father gave a Physical Reading for you in July 1939, and a Check Physical Reading shortly after that. From your correspondence I gather that you felt the Reading did not completely cover your condition. I find that in the Check Reading it was indicated that the suggested treatment would bring about beneficial results. As we are very anxious to know just how you have gotten along, we shall appreciate your filling out the enclosed report form and returning it to us. Your case is evidently a very interesting one, and we shall be glad to follow it up - for our own research purposes - if you have not obtained satisfactory results.

I may say, that in going over your Reading I was certainly very much surprised at the brevity of the analysis of the condition, for a First Reading is generally much more complete in giving details as to the cause and a description of the existing conditions. We do not know why such brief analyses come now and then. It is due no doubt to the attunement made at the time, and may be influenced by many factors. I see, though, that the treatments suggested were very much in detail, and I hope that you have followed them. For, we will then have something upon which to work. I shall very much appreciate your being just as explicit as possible in making this report.

I am sure you will be interested in our Association program through which we are going to be able to index the thousands of Readings which are in our files. Many of these Reading contain valuable information which should be correlated and presented in a scientific manner. We have felt it right to make it possible for every individual whose Readings are a part of our records to have a part in the promotion of this program. The enclosed booklet will explain the details.

INDIVIDUAL CASE REPORT - [1952]

Date of Readings July 10 & 26, 1939 Case No. 1952-1, 1952-2

(PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS CAREFULLY) (1) In your opinion did the analysis of the Reading cover the condition? Yes.

(2) Give symptoms of condition described correctly? Very low vitality causing mental depression and general weakness. - All joints more or less swollen and aching.

(3) What was the physician’s analysis of this condition? Very slow hardening process throughout whole body. Prescribed sulphur and apis for several years. Sulphur baths & Apis injections. Now scleron injections & liquid salycilate. Had many other medicines besides.

(4) Have the suggestions given in the Reading been followed exactly as outlined? Yes.

(5) For how long? Violet rays, vibrator and oil massages for 4 weeks. Codiron pills taken ever since.

(6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted? Have grown stronger and can bear the aching joints more easily. Have regained the weight I had lost in early summer.

(7) Comment. A friend has invited me to Fort Myers, Fla., where she has a cottage. Am leaving next week & hope to have some relief - especially in the knees.
