HLC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1976].
-
Here, from the records, we find a new period of experiences for many souls seeking material manifestations.
-
These interpretations given in the present would be as warnings, and with that understanding or inkling of the character of the individual entity to be dealt with.
-
And then, when the formative period has passed, or at the twelfth year or thereabout, other records for this would be then in keeping with that to be the more helpful or beneficial in this material sojourn.
-
For, as the date indicates, that very close to a mighty power in material things becomes apparent.
-
A materialistic tendency, then, will be indicated in the experience of this developing entity in this sojourn.
-
One that will be strong in body and in mind, as well as in purpose, in aim, in desire; and the determination to have self’s own will, - as was indicated by that which was patterned, or a pattern for the entity, in its close association with Caesar - Julius; in that period when there was such a great power or influence as to become an influence in activities throughout.
-
As the entity develops there will be those tendencies toward those things in which the entity will be care free, resenting any form of guidance, - unless love and patience is thoroughly exemplified in those who would direct the activities of the entity.
-
One that will need discipline, and even in the early stages the routine as a soldier or those characters of conditions that make for such should be the rule of the life in its formative experience; else the entity may become a wanderer.
-
For there is the inclination to see and be a part of so many affairs.
-
Hence we will see more and more that of hero worship, even in the early years of the experience.
-
Hence the needs for not only the conversation about the entity, but for the precept and example, in whatever form of activity as may be necessary, to be of the nature as to bring a power toward directing in the channels in which ideals of a more spiritual nature or import are impressed upon the development of the entity in the formative years.
-
Only those precautions will be found necessary that are ordinarily given to the young. The entity will be of such nature and temperament as to not be inclined to be subject to even those conditions ordinarily indigent to the young. Hence the entity will be free from these, unless there is the lack of ORDINARY precautions, or unless there is neglect on the part of those who would direct.
-
As the formative periods begin, keep the conversation and the activities as relate to every form of guidance, in a way and manner in which precept and example are ONE and the same.
-
Give authority to those activities then, such that there is not the giving of conditions that are as mysteries but the natural explanations will be necessary.
-
Here we find little of the astrological influence will be apparent in the experience, but those periods of sojourn rule the greater.
-
And for the first twelve years, only that sojourn mentioned as the associate with that ruler; whose day the entity’s birthdate celebrates, - and thus there will be the needs for those considerations as we have indicated.
-
The name in that period was Brutus, - hence the divisions and yet the longings to be as Caesar in that experience.
-
Then, let the entity learn discipline - teach the entity discipline from every angle, - but in love, in patience.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 8/20/39 Aunt [1602]‘s letter: “The reading arrived last night for [1723]‘s baby. I have mailed it to him. I was very interested in it for many reasons and think it seems quite unusual, though no doubt not a particularly easy life’s pattern to solve - if the life mentioned is the predominating one of this life. Will be anxious to let you know just what [1723] and [his wife] think about it.”
R2. 8/28/39 Aunt [1602]‘s letter: “I have not heard directly from [1723] but did hear this story. The while that [his wife] was in the hospital, waiting for the baby and during its birth, [1723], who has never been known to read a book, bought a secondhand copy of THE LIFE OF JULIUS CAESAR and read it from beginning to end at the hospital. If he should have had any doubts in his mind about the veracity of the readings, I am quite sure they have scattered to the four winds by now. [Brother [1597]] tells me both [1723] and [wife] have haunted the library ever since and find the character in question was really a very worthy lad and they seem happy about the whole thing, believing they will be able to guide it along spiritual lines as time goes on. It will certainly be interesting to watch.”
R3. 8/29/39 Uncle [1597]‘s letter:
You might be interested in a sidelight on the Reading [1602] secured for [1723]‘s new son. First let me recall the fact that according to the Reading the son was formerly Decius Junius Brutus.
On the night […] was to go to the hospital (although they didn’t know it at the time) [1723] went out to a little stationary store to get some announcements in the form of small cards. The store was fairly crowded, and so while he was waiting for someone to take care of him, he idled over to a bookshelf. There were a number of odd assortment of editions, but as his eye traveled over them - one volume in particular caught his attention. He eventually bought the book and returned home. When […] saw it, she ribbed him good-naturedly for having bought it. But [1723] stuck to his guns - insisting that he felt he really wanted to read it.
Later that night, when they decided that the time had at last come for the long-waited trip to the hospital, [1723]
- on a final turn around the living room before leaving - saw the book and slipped it into his pocket. While […] was in the delivery room and the baby, alias Decius Brutus, was being born - [1723] waited below reading this book he’d felt he wanted to read. And that book was a biography on the life of Julius Caesar.
If I’ve been round-about in telling this story, let me quickly re-emphasis the point. [1723] probably hasn’t bought more than one or two books since leaving college. Why he should suddenly feel the strong urge to buy a volume on Caesar’s life - read it right at the time the baby was being born - and then have the Life Reading say that the child had been Brutus at one time, well - if it’s all just a coincidence, better page Mr. Warner* and let him put this with his collection. At any rate, I thought you might find it interesting.

R5. 2/28/69 Uncle [1597]‘s letter to HLC reporting on his own Life Rdg.:
Some time around the late thirties, your father read for my nephew and godson - my brother’s child. The Reading was not done necessarily with my brother’s consent and, I rather assume, with my sister-in-law’s dissent. The Reading, as I recall, minced no words. This little tyke, just a few weeks old, was identified as having been Brutus. Again, as I recall, this was the only past life reviewed.
Devout Catholics, not given to any peripheral concepts, reincarnation itself was an anathema. And when the Reading said here was Brutus, perhaps you can imagine the consternation.
My nephew’s proper name is [1976] (this being both my brother and my father’s name). However, he has always been known as “Renny”. I don’t know which name was used in the Reading. I’ve watched the boy over the years. He is now about 30. He has been a model boy to date - never any trouble. He did very well in school, President of his high school class as well as a class officer in college. He graduated from Holy Cross College with honors. He was in the ROTC and after graduation spent two years in the Navy on active duty as a commissioned officer. He has been married almost ten years and has three daughters.
After college, Renny went with a New Jersey Public Utility Company doing labor relations work. He was very successful at it. However, restless that he wasn’t getting ahead fast enough, he recently switched to Belling life insurance and investment funds. Again, his career has taken a big leap forward - blessed with all indications of further and even greater success. He has always been interested in civic

affairs seems to have a natural bent and flair for this type thing. He has headed up PTA’s, funding campaigns, even believe he has run for public Office at a minor level. My brother [1723] several years ago predicted that Renny one day would run for elective office on a national scale - and be successful. And I’m sure my brother has long since forgotten the Reading and the public career of his son’s earlier sojourn.
