-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions which will be submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, [1989].
-
As we find, conditions have reached rather serious proportions. These are affecting the impulse in the nerve tissue itself, as related to the locomotory centers.
-
Hence an agitans [paralysis agitans, shaking palsy, Parkinson’s Disease] is developing.
-
As we find, the causes of this arose primarily in times back when there was the use of injections or applications carrying a large percent of mercury. These in their effect upon the system produced the inclination for the lack of the proper activity with the assimilating system through the glandular forces as produce the nerve tissue, especially as there is a pressure also indicated in the area from the 11th dorsal to the lumbar axis.
-
This combined with this inclination has prevented and does prevent a normal reflex activity through the locomotory system.
-
As we find, these may be materially aided if there is a consistent effort made in these directions in the present:
-
First, we would administer sufficient Atomidine to in a manner start, as it were, CLEANSING the glandular system, by the reaction of such to the whole of the bodily functionings.
-
Begin with one minim (drop in half a glass of water each morning before the meal is taken. Each day increase the dosage one drop, until ten drops are being taken. Do not give more than one extra minim each day, until ten minims are being given.
-
Then leave off for five days - or leave off entirely, but after five days begin with the use of the Wet Cell Appliance carrying the Chloride of Gold. Keep this up for thirty minutes each day, preferably of an evening. Do not give the Atomidine internally while taking the Chloride of Gold through the Appliance, see? The attachments would be made as follows:
-
The smaller copper plate would be attached to the 4th lumbar, - that is, the lumbar center; NOT the segment itself, you see, but the center, so that the ganglia receive the impulse of the vibratory forces of the low electrical forces as pass through same. The larger nickel plate, through which the Gold Solution passes (in the proportion of one grain to each ounce of distilled water), would be attached to the lacteal and umbilical plexus.
-
The Appliance would be recharged every thirty days, and the Gold Solution would be changed every fifteen days.
-
Following the use of the Appliance, about twice or three times a week - at least that often, we would massage the lower limbs, from the sacral area across the sacral area, and especially down the sciatic to the feet and through the feet, and especially in the muscular forces under the knee; with an equal combination of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh. Heat the oil to add the myrrh. This does not mean merely to rub this combination ON the body, but take thirty minutes each time to gently massage all the body will absorb. Afterwards sponge off with a weak bicarbonate of soda solution, and then - of course - with warm water, and then a little alcohol; but preferably GRAIN alcohol, NOT rub alcohol.
-
Begin also at the same time that the Atomidine is begun (from the very beginning, you see), with corrections osteopathically - gently - of those areas specifically from the 4th dorsal to the 11th dorsal, and corrections from the 11th dorsal to the lumbar axis. Not too severe, but gently stimulate drainages to the system from these areas.
-
Do these, and be mindful of the diet, - that there are plenty of vitamins, as in whole wheat (cracked), or steel cut oats, - not rolled oats. Have plenty of green vegetables, - beans, peas, lentils, spinach, cabbage, - all of these cooked in their own salts (as in Patapar Paper). Plenty of carrots, oyster plant, rutabaga, turnips. All of these should be included, but they should be cooked in their own juices, saving the salts or the water in which such are cooked as a part of the diet. Little of meats, save fish or fowl, - these are the preferable for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Why does his memory lapse? (A) The nerve destructive forces.
-
(Q) Why does he walk off balance? (A) The agitans.
Do as has been indicated, if we would bring better forces for this body.
- We are through for the present.
Copy to Self ” ” Ass’n file ” ” Mr. [257] (to be given to osteopath who treats the case)
(9/1/39 GD’s notes: See article [which was enclosed] regarding Wet Cell Appliance and where obtained.
We would appreciate having the name and address of the osteopath who treats this case, so we may put him on our mailing list.)
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/15/39 Wife’s letter to Mr. [257]:
“I received the report from Mr. Cayce about twelve days ago. I have tried several osteopaths with M.D. degrees to see if they will carry out the treatment outlined. So far, they all laugh at it and think it a joke and they say they never even heard of such a medicine. They even asked me if he is the same Mr. Cayce that was in Boston a number of years ago. Would you know of a doctor in Boston that could carry out the treatment, for it would be so much easier for us if it could be taken care of in Boston as I could still take care of my children and give my husband good attention at the same time. I have even asked the medical men who have been treating Mr. [1989] and they think it is the greatest joke. Right now, Mr. [1989] is in the hospital for observation for three or four days. Perhaps they will be able to find something. In the meantime, perhaps your doctor in New York might recommend some doctor in Boston. Thanking you for past favors and hoping you will be able to help me out in this matter…”
R2. 9/25/39 EC’s letter to [1989]‘s wife:
“Mr. [257] sent me your letter regarding the attitude of the doctors there - would ask them to ask any of the osteopaths in Norfolk or at Still-Hildreth, or even to Kirksville. I think they would like to know what others have found as regarding same. I don’t wonder that they laugh at you, but I think they will have a report that will surprise them possibly.
“I have no special one to send you to, though one or two have asked to have cases referred to them. I do not wish to be in the place of sending you to any one, but seek one that will work with you.
“Sincerely hoping that it will work out for you…”
Background
Background
B1. 8/28/39 Wife submitted questions: “Why does he walk off balance? Or why is he unable to walk as he always did? Why does his memory lapse? He is terribly forgetful and does not seem to think quickly. What can be done to cure him?”
