1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces, giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1996].

3. Now, as we find, those conditions which exist in the attitudes of the body - this entity - are not in conformity, except here and there, with the attitudes of the mental body.

4. And thus there are physical disturbances of the physical nature as to the reactions to the emotional body, that should be attended to, in the present; lest we will find there will be disturbances of a nature that would cause a derangement in the ideas and ideals of this entity.

5. Physically, there are hindrances in the coccyx and in the lumbar axis; which cause a reaction to the pineal, - in the sensory or sense emotions a disturbance.

6. These should be corrected mechanically, - that is, osteopathically.

7. Also there should be suggestions to the body in the unconscious state, - or through hypnosis; making suggestions for POSITIVE reactions - with directions for greater creative influences, and the adherence to creative forces.

8. And thus we will find we will change the whole outlook of the body.

9. As to the records here, - we find one that is versatile in many things, as would pertain to ways and manners of managements of affairs. And with those corrections indicated, as to bring a normal physical reaction, much might be expected of the entity.

10. As we find, then, - until such corrections are made, we would not attempt to interpret the life records; for with the corrections made physically, as indicated, there may be a better ability of EVALUATING the emotions that are associated with conditions, places, environs, and even to the mental and spiritual life.

11. And in the suggestions, there should be included not those that would attempt to set a rule without purpose, but those suggestions should be creative in their very nature and purpose.

12. When these are done, and within then the next six to nine months, we may give the better evaluations for those suggestive forces as to the relative relationships to its former activities, as well as the astrological urges that are unleashed in the experiences of the entity under the present environ.

13. These corrective measures physically, as indicated, should be the mechanical or osteopathic adjustments; coccyx, lumbar and sacral axis.

14. AND then hypnosis, with the directions for greater creative influences and the adherence to creative forces.

15. We are through for the present.

Dear Mrs. […]

We were a bit surprised at the course the information took with [1996]‘s reading, however our experience has been that for sincere seekers it gives that as is most needed at the time. Do hope you will give this a trial - and will appreciate if you will let us hear from you as the treatments progress and when he is better would like to continue with the Life reading as was first planned.

R2. 10/7/39 [1942]‘s letter to EC:

Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

Replying to your favor of September 11th to Mrs. […], would say that I have been away a good deal of the time since your letter came, accounting for the delay in replying to same.

Mrs. […] mailed the report of the reading to me as she could not understand it.

I have just now found time to work out my understanding of what the Spirit intended to convey, and I have forwarded my interpretation to Mrs. […] with a recommendation to locate the best Osteopath in the city and have an examination and the adjustments attended to.

I am writing the Doctors’ of Hypnosis in New York to see if they can inform me as to reputable Doctors of Hypnosis in Montreal.

If this can be done, and as I will be in Montreal during the next 60 days I can meet this party and arrange for the right suggestions under hypnosis.

I am attaching a copy of my interpretations of what the Spirit meant to convey and I would appreciate it very much if you can find an opportunity to check this as being correct or otherwise.

If the nature of the Mental emotions or disorder can be clarified and a little more information given as to what the hypnotist must convey to the sub-conscious it would be very helpful.

Providing Mrs. […] is agreeable we will follow up this reading as per ‘information’ received. I feel that the result of this case will be of great scientific interest to all of us, and of vital importance to [1996].

Dear […] [[1996]‘s mother]:

My interpretation of a READING given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., September 11-1939.

READING: 1996-1

BORN - MAY 10-1920 in MONTREAL, CANADA. TIME OF READING: 10:50 TO 11:00 A.M.E.S.T.

Mrs. Cayce who was present at the Reading acted as conductor, in other words asked the spirit for information relative to the character and the mental and spiritual development of the entity, [1996].

The life reading presents a cross section of a great plan for Spiritual evolution.

It includes detailed information regarding the more important of past incarnations, and suggestions for developing latent talents and abilities in line with some life work.

This information is especially valuable for those who have not found their proper life work.

You will note that Mrs. Cayce’s questions touched on the above matters.

Mr. Cayce is in a self-imposed sleep or it might be called a trance.

The Spirit now proceeds to answer the question, using the vocal organs of Mr. Cayce, while the stenographer Gladys Davis takes down in short hand what the Spirit says.

I will now give you interpretation of what the Spirit says according to the paragraphs as numbered.

PARA. 2. The Spirit has before him the record (the facts) concerning the physical, mental and spiritual condition and the tendencies pertaining to [1996].

PARA. 3. The Spirit says that the conditions that exists in the physical body of [1996] are not in harmony nor do they conform (except here and there) with the mental attitude of the entity [1996].

PARA. 4. Therefore there are physical disturbances taking place as a result of the mental attitude which is expressing itself emotionally which should be taken care of as soon as possible, otherwise the present condition will lead to a derangement of mental outlook on proper ideals that should govern each and every entity.

PARA. 5. The physical body of [1996] is being disturbed by the Coccyx and in the lumbar axis, which reacts on the Pineal which affects the sense or sensory emotions.

PARA. 6. This disturbance can be corrected by an Osteopath.

PARA. 7. Through hypnosis the sub-consciousness of [1996] should be impressed with affirmations of a POSITIVE NATURE on CONSTRUCTIVE LINES.

PARA. 8. In other words Osteopathic treatment of the physical and Hypnotic suggestion to the mental - spiritual will change the whole outlook and behavior of [1996].

PARA. 9. The records, which includes the tendencies through evolutionary life - the design or planned life of [1996] would be versatile in many things pertaining to the management of affairs (business) and with the suggested Osteopathic and Hypnotic treatment much might be expected of [1996].

PARA. 10. Until such correction (TREATMENT) is given [1996] the Spirit would not attempt to interpret the life records, for with the corrections (treatment) given as above there may be a higher evaluation of the emotions that would take place in the normal life of [1996] from a mental and spiritual standpoint.

PARA. 11. The Hypnotic treatment (suggestions) should include rules that are POSITIVE, and CREATIVE in their nature and purpose.

PARA. 12. When the suggested treatment is finished and after six of nine months, the Spirit may be able to better evaluate the suggestive forces in relation to its former activities, as well as the Astrological urges that are unleashed (set in motion) by [1996] in his life on this planet.

PARA. 13. The Spirit repeats the corrective measures that should be made.

PHYSICALLY - OSTEOPATHIC ADJUSTMENTS - COCCYX, LUMBAR AND SACRAL AXIS.

PARA. 14. MENTAL - SPIRITUAL - HYPNOSIS, with directions to the sub-conscious of [1996] for greater creative mind and physical action and the adherence to creative principal and action.

PARA. 15. THE SPIRIT IS THROUGH FOR THE PRESENT.

R3. 10/12/39 EC’s letter to [1942]:

Mr. [1942] …, Mich.

Dear Mr. [1942]

Thank you for yours of the 7th - and especially for the interpretation you sent Mrs. […] - think you have covered the situation beautifully, and am certainly looking for real results there. Am sure Dr. Garrett [Thomas L. Garrett] or Dr. Kahn [Leslie Kuhn] of N.Y. will be able to suggest someone there in Montreal who will co-operate very well.

The type of suggestion the Hypnotist should make is given - as to the words he should use in such a suggestion - can and will be given if he requests same but the information does not give such unless they ask for same.

The entire reading was rather unusual in that the Life reading suggestion was given, yet - the entire reading was mostly given to a physical condition to be corrected - that the other might have chance for activity.

Will be most anxious to know the outcome - please tell Mrs. […] we will give the Osteopath several Osteopaths’ names who have and are handling cases - suggested for in readings, should her Osteopath wish such.

My dear Mr. Cayce

I have your letter of August 29th 1939. We are on daylight saving time so [1996]‘s life reading will take place on Monday September eleventh at eleven thirty to twelve thirty o’clock. [1996]‘s problems are indolence and secretiveness and falsehoods even when there seems to be no apparent reason for deception nor anything to gain. An instinctive impulse to answer falsely the most trivial question and a disinclination to make even the effort to talk enough to finish a conversation. Mr. [1942] and I thought it might be possible that the security of his life so far has engendered boredom - and I would be glad if any help you can give me.
