This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of May, 1940, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [23], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Irene Griggs, Mrs. [23] and [2015].]

Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2015]; this we have had before.

  3. As we find, the conditions physically and mentally are developing nominally, normally; and we would only keep those precautions which have been indicated, and that are the general rule in the developing of the bodily functions and bodily activities through the present periods.

  4. While there is a change in bodily surroundings for the time, keep the body where it may have the effect of the sea and salt air; not at night, of course, or at those periods when too hot, but the sand and salt air will be especially good at this period of developing for the body. These will act very much as a preventative for any disturbance of a glandular nature, or of the natures that nominally arise, - provided it does not come in contact with any disturbance that is of the nature as to transmit same to the body.

  5. Then, as we find, just keep the precautions that have been indicated.

  6. We would not change any of the diets, save in the nominal manner for the age and the growth.

  7. Ready for questions.

  8. (Q) Is it advisable to continue straining the oatmeal? (A) This is advisable. It does not take from its value, and is better at this age when strained, see?

  9. (Q) Should any other foods be added to present diet? (A) As we find, all of Gerber’s now may be gradually added.

  10. (Q) No potatoes or egg yet? (A) Egg may be added, but not potatoes as yet.

  11. (Q) How should the egg be prepared? (A) Taking the plain egg is best, - only the yolk, of course, - this either boiled hard or coddled, you see, and mixed so that it is soft, - only taking the yolk.

  12. (Q) Are the eliminations satisfactory? or should there be more than one bowel movement each day? (A) Not unless there is over-indulgence; or cold, or congestion should arise.

The eliminations are very satisfactory in the present, and may be changed by the diet better than in other ways or means, when it is practical. Otherwise, the eliminants would be used as has been indicated.

  1. (Q) Are the teeth and bones developing as they should? (A) These are developing very nicely. See, there are four almost ready to come through.

  2. (Q) Which of Gerber’s foods would help the eliminations, when necessary to increase? (A) Carrots and prunes.

  3. (Q) Please advise regarding inoculation for diphtheria, etc.? (A) Not until at least nine to twelve months of age.

  4. (Q) Is there any way to prevent her taking contagious diseases? (A) As indicated, where there is plenty of activity in the environs indicated to cause the glandular forces to be normal, in the bodily balance between potassiums and sodas, - as from the iodines from salt air, sand and sunshine, - it is well to take advantage of same, and these act as preventatives, see?

  5. (Q) During which hours is it best for the body to have the advantage of these? (A) From nine to ten o’clock in the morning, and from three to four in the afternoon.

  6. (Q) Any other advice for this body at this time? (A) Just keep the normal activities; for the body is developing normally.

  7. We are through with this Reading.
