This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of October, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [2020], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [1942].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2020].

3. Now as we find, the disturbances are rather of an insidious nature. The effects are much more apparent than the causes, and thus have been at times mistaken for causes.

4. Thus the applications have not been effective, nor has there been other than temporary relief at times.

5. As we find, the basis of the disturbances here is of a glandular nature, especially as related to the circulatory system.

6. Hence the glands in the digestive system, the thyroid, and those about the activity of the kidneys, are the three phases involved.

7. Thus we have a breaking down of certain forms of cellular force as indicated in the blood supply, in the hormones of same.

8. The nerve energies, then, become involved in the disturbances, and naturally the metabolism and the heart’s activity; producing rather a burning sensation in the area between the liver and heart circulation.

9. These are the disturbances as we find with the consequential effects that go with the disturbances; producing a fagging of the nerves, because of the lack of energies to supply the white matter - as it were - in nerve cells, - and some inflammation is indicated at times along the very walls themselves of the nerves.

10. Thus we find aches caused along the cerebrospinal system, especially across the areas of the lumbar and brachial plexuses.

11. These are the disturbances as we find with this body.

12. In making applications for beneficial conditions.

13. First, we find there should be the administration of those influences as would act as a purifier, or a cleanser, to the glandular forces themselves. This will apparently in the first produce some bit of irritation, but as conditions progress and as the other applications are made as may be suggested, we will find the conditions will gradually become improved and we may eliminate the causes and, thus, of course, the effects upon the nervous system and the blood supply, and the disturbance to the functioning of organs through the system.

14. Begin, then, with one minim of Atomidine in half a glass of water of mornings before meals. Increase this one minim every OTHER day until five minims are being taken. Then leave off entirely for five days. Then begin again with the one minim, every other day increasing one minim, until five minims are being taken. Leave off again for five days.

15. Then begin with the use of the low electrical vibrations from the Wet Cell Appliance carrying Gold. The attachments would be made in this manner: The copper plate would be attached to the 9th dorsal plexus, while the large nickel plate, through which the Gold Solution would pass (in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold to each ounce of Distilled Water), would be attached to the lacteal and umbilical plexus. These applications would be made for thirty minutes each day. Change the Gold Solution on the fifteenth day, and change the charging solution for the Appliance on the thirtieth day.

16. Also when the Appliance is begun, we would begin with a gentle massage and corrective measures in a mechanical (osteopathic) manner, to stimulate better drainages and eliminations throughout the whole system, - especially as related to the alimentary canal and the kidneys.

17. In the diet, - keep away from too much of the combination of starches; such as cheese with macaroni, or rice with gravy, or white bread at the same meal with white potatoes. These may be taken separately at times, but not as a combination one with another. Not great quantities of fats, ever.

18. One meal each day should consist principally of fresh, raw vegetables.

19. Only fish or fowl, if meats are taken at all.

20. Not a great quantity ever of nuts, though filberts or almonds may be taken if combined with a salad or the like.

21. These, as we find, may bring the better influences and forces for this body, [2020].

I have received the READING given to me on Oct. 7th. also your letter of Oct 9th. all of which is very very interesting and I am very grateful to you and the higher power for this help in showing me the way to better health.

I am very anxious to put into effect the program as outlined in this READING and am sending the enclosed check as payment on a Wet Cell Appliance carrying Gold, if you think best perhaps it would be well to send extra change for Gold Solution and etc. I will pay all extra charges promptly.

Wish you would send picture or draw sketch of human body so I may know just exactly where to place each plate, as I don’t know what is or where located the 9th dorsal plexus, and the lacteal and umbilical plexus, kindly excuse my ignorance.

Thank you for yours of the 11th - feel very sure that you will with the application of the suggestions gain the results as desired, just as so many others tell us they have. Sent the order on to the Health Home Remedies Copr, hope you receive your appliance very soon, and will soon be seeing results from its use. Am sure if you have all suggestions coordinate that help will come, sincerely hoping to have been of a service

I have just received the Wet Cell Appliance carrying Gold, all in fine shape but I am sorry to say they have not sent me the ATOMIDINE, I am very anxious to get started on this program as outlined in my reading of Oct. 7th. so if you will have them send me the ATOMIDINE as soon as possible I will appreciate it so much. Kindly send plenty so it will last me for sometime, I will pay all extra charges promptly.

Dear Mr. [2020]

Yours of the 18th - where it is possible to buy the things suggested in the open market the Health Home Rem. Corp. do not send the ingredients. However, have informed them of your not being able to get the Atomidine, so they have ordered it sent direct from a local Drug Store - hope you have it by now and will very soon be seeing results.

Dear Mr. [2020]

We are anxious to have a report on the Reading which my father gave for you in October. We are trying to bring our files up to date, and shall appreciate your cooperation in this matter. The enclosed report blank may be of some assistance to you in making out the report. Please be as specific as possible as to the accuracy of the Reading in analyzing your condition, and also as to the results you obtained in following the suggestions. If there is any way that we may be of assistance in clearing up any questions you may have regarding the treatments, please let us know.

I’m sure you have noted with appreciation the growing public and scientific interest in psychic research. We have one of the most amazing collections of psychic information in existence, and we feel that it deserves scientific study and presentation.

We are undertaking a program which will make possible a complete indexing of the thousands of Readings which are in our files. Dear Mr. Cayce;-

I have just received your letter of Sept. 29th. - in which you have set apart the morning of Oct. the 7th. from 10.30 to 11.30 E.S.T. This date and hour will be just fine for my reading, I will be at home here at the above address.

I would like to ask if there is some way that I may receive help for a bad heart condition, and a terrible burning condition all over my body, which the doctors call inflamed nerves, I have suffered from this for over three years, and it just seems to me there must be some way out.

My sincere prayers will be with you and to the very highest during this reading, and thanks to you from the bottom of my heart for your help.
