This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of October, 1939, in accordance with request made by her cousin”s husband - Rabbi [1839], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

West Hill Time of Reading Sanitarium, 10:40 to 10:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Fieldston Rd. & W. 252nd St., New York City.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. Now as we find, conditions are rather serious. And if there is the continuation of the bromides, this may cause such a softening of the nerve tissue as to produce dementia praecox.

4. As we find, these arise from centers in the cerebrospinal system that have become blocked, - by subluxations as well as the effect which has gradually been produced by improper glandular activity.

5. These are the sources of the conditions existent, as we find.

6. The subluxations exist in the coccyx end of the spine, the 9th dorsal, and the 1st and second cervical.

7. The glands involved are the thyroids (the inner), the glands in the area above and about the kidneys - or the effect FROM these to the pineals.

8. These flows and these blocks, as we find, might be materially aided by applications made in this manner:

9. First, submerge the body in water (except the head, of course), and this made as hot as can be stood by the body; remaining in same for some fifteen to twenty minutes, or longer.

10. Then, when the body is thoroughly relaxed from same, have the adjustments - either chiropractically or osteopathically - of those conditions in the areas indicated along the cerebrospinal system.

11. Keep these up, once or twice a week; the submerging of the body in hot water BEFORE such adjustments and massages are given.

12. Also, under the medical care of one such as Kahn, [Kuhn?] give injections of Liver Extract. These will necessarily be continued as the needs require.

13. Each day, for thirty minutes, we would use the vibrations from the Wet Cell Appliance carrying Gold; not the battery but the wet cell Appliance. The attachments would be made in this manner:

The small copper plate would be attached to the 9th dorsal, while the larger nickel plate, through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially (in the proportion of one grain Chloride of Gold to each ounce of Distilled Water), would be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus, - or three fingers from the umbilicus toward the right, not quite but almost in a direct line toward the right.

15. Do these, and we will find better conditions for this body.

17. (Q) What diet during this period of treatment? (A) Not a heavy diet, and not wholly a liquid diet; but semi-liquid, and those foods that are blood and nerve strengthening. Have a great deal of celery soup, or celery extracts with the soups; broiled liver, and those things of such natures. Plenty of fruits, and raw vegetables if possible.

18. (Q) What exercise should she have? (A) After a few days of following these, we find that the open air exercise would be better; walking, - but an attendant, of course, throughout the period.

19. We are through for the present.

B1. 10/7/39 Rabbi [1839]‘s letter, first part of which was reporting on a Physical Reading for himself several months ago:

I am writing now in behalf of a young woman who is a cousin of my wife, [1033], and who has just taken ill. I am asking that you enroll her as a member and give her a complete physical, mental and spiritual reading. Her name is [2022] and she is at … Avenue, the Bronx, New York City and in Room 430. These are the inquiries to be answered in the reading.

1. What is her condition?
2. What are the causes of this condition?
3. And what should be done for her?
4. Is this a mental case?
5. If so, what do you term it?
6. Is the mental a reaction from the physical?
7. What type of treatment is best for the patient?
8. What exercise should she have?
9. Where is it best to treat her?
10. What diet should she have?
11. What doctor should take care of her?

I am asking too, as a personal favor, that you send this reading to me at the earliest possible moment for there is urgency here. [257] will come in specially to interpret it with me.

In your work as well as in mine, there are a thousand calls which come at the same time and I know how insistent are the demands upon you. You know, however, that because of the similarity of our work I would not importune you if it were not for very important and imperative reasons. Please be assured that I will be very much in your debt for your generous assistance in this case.

Somehow, I have been under the impression that my check for membership was forwarded to you while I was in the hospital but [257] intimates that this is not so and I hasten to enclose my check for $10.00 the sum indicated by him. Several physicians of very high repute here, at my instance, want to meet you on one of your forthcoming visits because of my presentation of the manner in which your ministrations have brought help to thousands of people. I am to discuss this further with […] and make the necessary arrangements, subject to your approval.

As regards Miss [2022], I give my personal guarantee that her membership fee will be forwarded. I have no way of reaching her family at this writing.

Mrs. [1033] joins in sending greetings and appreciation. I am sending this SPECIAL DELIVERY in order to expedite matters. Thank you.
