This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of July, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Dr. [2067], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, New Hampshire.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2067].

3. As we find, the surrounding conditions - especially water - are making for those acute tendencies, which are partly from lack of body eliminations.

4. Unless there is a change from these, or the use of water that has more lithia and less lime, these - through a whole season - will prove quite detrimental.

5. We would either use hot Epsom Salts or a good sulphur water that would purify and cleanse the body.

6. DO NOT take too much of the concentrated vitamins, until better eliminations are set up. While they may aid for a time, there are drosses left from same that work hardships.

7. Do have those changes for the type of water taken, either by using that as may be shipped in or by the use of waters that may be obtained from Crystal Springs, Texas, as a medicine, you see, not as a drinking water - the Crazy Crystals, see? or such as these; or any good chalybeate water, or water obtained in such places. [9/6/73 GD’s note: Dr. Bonney at Ingram Pharmacy says he thinks Crazy Crystals is off the market now; substitute would be Sal Hepatica.]

8. THEN we may build up with the vitamins that will be much better for the body.

9. Ready for questions.

10. (Q) Am I eating anything that is causing my suffering? (A) As indicated, the primary or basic condition is the water; and this requires change. While the massages or rubs or sweats or the like will aid, unless the causes are removed the body will continue to have the troubles. For, the tendencies exist that have been indicated. And, of course, taking the vitamins under the present condition is only adding fuel to a fire already in the body.

11. (Q) Does the climate have anything to do with it? (A) Not so much the climate as the water.

These changes we would make.

12. (Q) Shall I continue constantly with the Grove’s vitamin tablets - (A) (Interrupting) As indicated, you better leave off all of these until there is a purifying of the body! They may aid temporarily, but unless the causes are removed, with the poisons already accumulating, you may have cirrhosis or arthritis tendencies! For, we have these combinations with neuritis and arthritis, as well as the conditions in liver.

These need to be changed.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Thank you very much for the check reading you gave me the other day. It was greatly appreciated. I got some more of the Lithia tablets as recommended and am taking them regularly. I am also changing drinking water to brook water, the only other water I can get here. I cannot get commercialized Spring water or whatever it is up here in the woods, so have to do the best I can. I have stopped drinking well water - the fact was I did not drink any water to speak of - that was much of the trouble I suppose. I have tried to get the “Crazy Crystals”, but they are not to be had in any of the little towns around here. I don’t know the price of them - if very expensive I couldn’t get them. The Lithia tablets cost a lot. I have left off the Vitamins that gave me a lot of pep and strength, but there is the dross I suppose as the Reading suggested. I am some better, thank you.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I was delighted to get your letter of June 25 regarding the Congress, Mrs. [1472]‘s visit and Mrs. [2174]. Thank you for recommending me to her.

Thank you also for suggestions regarding writing the book on the Christ Ministry assigned me by the Readings. I am at work upon it and shall put my best into it. I think it will be a wonderful book with all the good excerpts from the Readings that I have. Later I probably will have to ask you some questions regarding it. You offered to help.

My great trouble now is a health problem. Since coming to New Hampshire I have had a very bad time with arthritis or neuritis, or whatever it is, although I have been following the last re-check Reading with the Lithia tablets and Grove’s vitamins. You remember back in January I had a recheck Reading. Well, I need another bit of help in a re-check reading at your earliest convenience, please?

My bones & muscles have suddenly become stiffened and the pain is constant in my left arm and shoulder, and often in the fingers and wrists, knees, ankles, back. This has been for the past three weeks. I did not want to have to trouble you when you are so busy, but it seems best I think to ask for a recheck, so that I can be able to work the things God has assigned to me.

I wonder if it is the dampness near the lake and brook of my property here that causes my trouble every year, only much worse this year? Or is it the bites of the big black flies and mites and mosquitoes, or the change of water or a little garden work? May I enclose a few questions to have on hand when you are able to give me the re-check Reading?

1. Why are my bones aching so terribly and why am I so dreadfully stiff since arriving this summer in New Hampshire?
2. Am I eating anything that is causing my suffering? What should I put in or leave out of my diet?
3. Is the increased pain in my joints and lower back due to the climate of New Hampshire, or to the water?
4. I have a contract to teach this coming fall in …, Vermont. Will health conditions be there such that I will be able to do the work assigned me?
5. Shall I continue with the Lithia tablets, and are they alkalizers?
6. Shall I continue constantly with the Grove’s vitamin tablets, A, B1, and D, or Sear’s Roebuck’s tablets A, B1, D, a little cheaper? (These vitamins help me a lot)
7. Does garden exercise make my condition worse, or in spite of pain and swelling of wrists and ankles, joints, should I continue to exercise?
8. Anything else I should know about, in health conditions?
