GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

We have the body, [2069].

Now, as we find, conditions are very serious, and many complications may arise. Yet, as we find, these should not necessarily be unable to be handled.

With the effect of the poison there is a fast accumulation from the inactivity of the liver, and the effect as produced in the blood supply, and the disturbances that naturally arise from same to the lower hepatic circulation; producing not only the malarial but the strep condition in the blood.

However, these should be handled, if there is the adherence consistently and persistently to these manners of application:

First, we would grind fresh beets, using the beet tops with same (of course, cleansing them first), and use as a cold poultice over the liver, the gall duct, or the whole of the right side, extending down over the lower portion, or to the middle portion of the abdomen, at least. Apply these directly to the skin, you see, with gauze over same, and then other cloths, but NOT on gauze - applying directly to the skin first, see? When these are warm from the body heat, change them; or keep changing them almost every hour, for at least twelve to twenty hours.

Then cleanse the area, and apply - over the same area (which will make for the alleviating of pain, even more than the other applications will have done) - a combination of three parts Tincture of Laudanum and one part Aconite. Use a small camels’ hair brush to paint the area with this compound, see?

Then apply immediately over same the Epsom Salts Packs, - towels dipped in a saturated solution of Epsom Salts and applied as warm as the body can stand.

After this has been done once, give a high enema; using a heaping teaspoonful of salt and a level teaspoonful of soda (baking soda) to each quart of body-temperature water; also using a colon tube for the giving of same, see? After the evacuation or cleansing with this solution, then use in the last water an antiseptic; a teaspoonful of Glyco-Thymoline to the quart of water.

After there has been a reaction from the Epsom Salts Packs, return to the Beet Poultice.

The diet would be mostly crushed grape juice (using the fresh grapes, NOT old grapes nor canned juice); with junket, arrow root and the like.

Be precautious with these.

After at least the second period of forty-eight to sixty hours, again give the Epsom Salts Packs and the colon irrigation.

B1. 12/27/39 Phone request 11 P.M. by Mr. [1787]: Operated on in March for appendicitis and gall bladder condition, in Evansville. Immediately afterwards she developed Jaundice. She went to Mayo Brothers in September and was operated on there on Sept. 15th. They said if she got through that operation, that a second operation might be performed later.
