GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, there only needs to be kept those precautions and the following out of those suggestions for the general welfare, and the meeting of any acute or general disturbance that arises.
-
The general condition is much better in the present. Of course, there have been flares from the activity of the organs of the pelvis, or the genital system, including the ovary reaction. But the reaction from the general condition in kidney area has been indicated.
-
All of these should be met from time to time.
-
In the present there only needs to be some better stimulation to the eliminations, so that those acute pressures may be relieved that occur at times as hitches or stitches in the muscular forces of hips, back, groin. Stimulate these by the general treatments indicated, and a cleansing diet, or the stimulation of natures from vegetable laxatives.
-
Do that.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Has the trouble with her ovary and appendix entirely cleared up? (A) For the present; though there are inclinations and tendencies. Hence the necessity of keeping good eliminations through the alimentary canal, the respiratory and the perspiratory system. Hence plenty of exercise; not too violent, but sufficient oft to produce perspiration over the body.
-
(Q) Would Vi-Syneral be beneficial to her and, if so, what should the dose be? (A) This as we find would NOT be especially beneficial, and is of such a nature as would require increasing in quantity and would upset other conditions. Follow rather those outlines that have been suggested, as we find would be the better.
-
(Q) Is there a fracture, that causes her ankle to hurt at times - since strapping has been taken off? (She twisted it badly about 3 weeks ago.) (A) This is in the muscular forces, not a fracture. Use a good stimulating liniment as a massage. This might be had from an equal combination of Mutton Tallow (melted), Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor, - massaged - not bound on but massaged in, once or twice a day, would relieve the disturbance.
-
(Q) Have her eyes improved since wearing glasses? (A) Though these cause some anxiety at times, there is improvement and a relief of the nerve strain from same.
-
(Q) Should the Atomidine and artichokes be continued? (A) Occasionally; that is, take them in series. Take for three, four, five days; then leave them off about twice that long. But don’t take them haphazardly; take them regularly when they are taken, and leave them off definitely and not take during that period, see?
-
(Q) Has her general condition improved, especially kidneys? (A) As has been indicated.
-
We are through with this Reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 10/7/41 Father’s letter to EC: “Thank you for the report of the reading of October 4th. The general betterment of [2084]‘s condition is most encouraging.
“We note from recent readings that the Watermelon Seed tea has been increased in strength and is taken less often. We used to use 4 oz. of water with one teaspoon of crushed seed and half the tea was taken one day and half the next. This once each week. Now it is 2 oz. of water, the same amount of seed and taken on one day, each week.
“One thing is not clear to us in the last reading, October 4th - Question #5 and answer [2084-9, Par. 13-A]: - Q. ‘Should the Atomidine and artichokes be continued? A. ‘Occasionally; that is, take them in series. Take for three, four, five days; then leave them off about twice that long. But don’t take them haphazardly; take them regularly when they are taken, and leave them off definitely and not take during that period, see?’
“Can you advise us as to the meaning of ‘take them in series’? The Atomidine has been taken once a week and the artichokes were on a basis of every ten days. Does the above instruction mean to take each in the usual dose for 3, 4 or 5 DAYS IN SUCCESSION and then leave off about twice that long? OR, does it mean to take them at intervals as in the past in a SERIES of 3, 4 or 5 PERIODS and then lay off twice THAT long. The first interpretation increases the dose over a week period materially. This is all right, IF we understood it properly. What would you advise?
“We have been telling an M.D. of your work. He is one of the best children’s doctors in the State. He was amazed and then very interested. If possible when you are up this way I should like to have him meet you.
“With best regards, I am,” Sincerely, [2841]
R2. 10/13/41 EC’s letter to the father, [2841]:
“Have yours of the 7th. Think you have the changes figured out about right, while the amount of the tea is increased a bit the time has something am sure to do with the effect - as does in the use of the Atomidine and Artichoke. This - or these would use say every other day for three days and leave off for a week or as given twice the number of days
- think the idea here, Mr. [2841] is to get the systems reaction with and against these stimulations. This may give more of these stimulations at once but the reaction will be better or is considered so by the information.
“Let us know how this works out with her.
“Take the atomidine every other day say for three doses. That will be say a week. Don’t give any more for two weeks
- the same with the artichoke.
“Do hope a plan can be worked out for [2587] to get her treatments - as told Mrs. [2678], will be glad to arrange for it here if they would agree for her to come and she would be satisfied here.
“Yes - Hugh Lynn is married - was married last Friday at noon. We went down to Stovall, N.C. and saw it well done. They are on a little trip at present. Heard from him this morning. Spent first night in Charlotte, N.C. - are possibly on way to New Orleans today. Think they spent Sunday in Birmingham, Ala. Look for them back next week some time - will have an apartment until 1st of year and then think they intend to go to housekeeping.
“Be glad to meet the Dr. - think we will be up that way next month some time. Hope this finds you and all well.”
R3. 11/6/41 Father, [2841]‘s letter to EC:
“We are still confused and a little worried about the proper dosage for [2084], to be safe, and sure in our minds, we should like to have another reading. Please let us know the earliest date possible and we will arrange accordingly. She will be in the same room as usual.
“I enclose a list of questions to be used in connection with the reading. Will you please request for me that this time the questions be not changed (condensed) or combined when asked you, inasmuch as I want to be sure beyond doubt of our treatment.
“We shall look forward to seeing you later this month.”
