This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of May, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [2096].
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

EC: Yes, we have the body and those conditions as surround same, [2096]. This we have had before. In many respects we find conditions have been on the improve. While there is the tendency for the body to immediately take on weight when the diet is neglected, or too much sugars or too much starches are added to the system, we will find that were the vibrations added in the proper ratio or manner from the Radio-active Appliance (the plain), the assimilated forces will be better distributed in the system and the VIBRATIONS as are set up will be nearer EQUALIZED, and that conditions will then CONTINUE to be in a nearer NORMAL way and manner; for THESE vibrations NOW, with the changes as have come about in system, will act with the GLANDS of the system that tend to make for too much of the avoirdupois of body.
-
In the distributing of the used forces as of elimination, would be well that - as was outlined - there be taken those forces as will INCREASE eliminations, and ESPECIALLY that that will affect those glands of assimilation, or in the lacteals direct. These, we find in the present it would be well that each morning - before the breaking of fast - a level teaspoonful of Epsom salts be taken for ten days straight running; then skip at least ten days, then repeat again.
-
With the application of the Radio-Active Appliance, these we would alternate from the opposite sides - rather than being opposite. When attached to the right wrist, attach to the right ankle. When attached to the left wrist, attach to the left ankle. See?
-
In the rest, we would keep that as WAS outlined in the matter of diet. The general physical conditions are VERY good. Do not take internally properties that are to act upon the glands, for this will prove detrimental in other directions, other than that as has been outlined here. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) How often and how long at a period should the Radio-Active Appliance be used? (A) At least thirty minutes each day. This may be increased to sixty minutes when this has been taken for fifteen to eighteen days.
-
(Q) Have weight-reducing treatments been followed out correctly? (A) In part, but when the body has taken starches or sweets there’s a tendency to increase.
-
(Q) What is normal weight for this body? (A) This has been given. Should be about one-forty. We are through for the present.

R1. 9/9/31 She requested emergency Physical Reading for her uncle, [2097], expressing appreciation for the help she bad been given.
R2. 9/4/32 She referred Mr. [315] for a Physical Reading for his brother, [4488].
R3. 7/27/33 GD’s letter to [2096]:
Dear Miss [2096]
We have thought of you often, and wonder just how you are getting along. Are you still following your treatment and keeping down your weight? I have a friend [5416] in New York who has a similar condition. The battery (Radio-Active Appliance) was suggested for her, but she didn’t have faith in it and never would use it; consequently, she has gotten worse and worse. I would certainly like for her to meet you and for you to tell her what you told me when I was there, as to how many pounds you lost in a certain length of time. It would give her something to go on, for - as it is - she doesn’t have enough faith to follow the treatment persistently for months, waiting for results; while, if she knew someone who had been troubled with a similar condition who had gotten results, it would make her be more persistent. I wonder if you would consider talking with her sometime, if I could get her to arrange an appointment? This is asking a lot, I know - but she is such a sweet girl, pretty too (in the face only, now), that it seems a shame to not try to get her to do something - when she already has the reading and knows what to do. However, I’m not writing just to ask you this; and if you do not feel like doing it, don’t feel that I will mind or blame you in the least. Sometimes such things are very personal and we do not like to discuss them. But you do as you think best. I just want to hear from you, and to know that you are keeping up the good work.
With kindest regards from all, and hoping to hear from you when you have time, I am
Sincerely, [signed] Gladys Davis Secretary to Mr. Cayce
R4. 7/4/33 [2096]‘s letter to GD:
Dear Miss Davis:
Received your most welcome letter and was very glad to hear from you.
In answer wish to say that I will gladly do anything I can to help encourage the young lady you speak of to keep up with her treatments as she should. I know it requires a lot of will power to stick to it, and if you do not lose weight continually, one very quickly loses faith.
However I am afraid that right now my meeting this young lady would not do much good. You see, since last year I have gone into the confectionery business for myself and I am ashamed to say that I have not had sufficient will power to fight off the temptation continually in from of me. Since then I have gained almost 35 lbs back again.
At the time I got my check-reading from Mr. Cayce the Radio-Active Appliance was suggested. This is the only part of my entire treatment which I did not live up to, because my treatment was an expensive one and I didn’t feel as tho I could afford this additional expense. But now Mr. [315], whom you doubtless remember informed me that he has this appliance and offered to loan it to me, so as soon as the weather is cooler I have resolved to start all over again and get back to normal.
Do you suppose writing that girl a letter, telling her of all the advantages & help I have received from Mr. Cayce would do any good. If so, I will only be too glad to do so.
Please pardon the delay in answering and hoping to hear from you again, I will close with kindness regards to all.
Sincerely, [2096]
R5. 9/26/33 [2096]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Have been wanting to return this envelope [contribution] long before now but somehow never just got to it. However I promise to be more faithful in the future.
Was sorry to hear through Mrs. [428] - of your recent misfortune with the storms. I hope you have now seen the last of them.
Intend to start my reducing treatment again next week and if I am not successful in losing as before I hope to get a check physical reading to see just what to do next.
Again allow me to thank you for all you have done for me and with kindest regards to Mrs. Cayce and Miss Davis, I am, as ever
Your friend [2096]
R6. 10/6/33 EC’s letter to [2096]:
My dear Miss [2096]
We have yours of the 26th, with enclosure, for which we thank you very much.
I know just how hard it is at times to be prompt with correspondence. We put it off from day to day until, before we know it, the time has elapsed and we have written nothing. But we appreciate your thought of us, and hope we may be favored with a line from you as often as you find the opportunity to write.
I note what you say about starting your treatments again; and I know just how hard it must be, when you are surrounded by such temptations, and it is so easy to keep putting it off until the next day.
Know that we will be very glad to be of any help possible. We hope to see you when we are in New York this month sometime, and to have a long talk together regarding different phases of the Work in which I’m sure you are interested.
Let us hear from you whenever you can. With all good wishes, I am
Sincerely, [EC:GD]
P.S. Thanks so much for your letter of sometime ago. I’ve decided to wait until I get there, and perhaps we can work out some way of convincing the young lady that she should follow her reading. Thanks. GD.
