This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th Street & Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of September, 1931, in accordance with request made by his niece, Miss [2096].

1. EC: We have the body and those conditions as surround the body here, [2097]. Now we find, while the conditions are rather serious, and that the greater portion of the physical organism is involved in the disorders as have arisen, there may be those applications that will bring relief and ease to the body; and WILL there be BUILDED within the body-consciousness itself that full wholehearted cooperation of the healing that is possible from within, then we may bring about a relief and a removal of the disorders.

2. These are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2097].

3. The BLOOD SUPPLY is weak from the poor elimination and the tendencies of the assimilations to be abnormal, produced by those conditions where poisons are accumulating in the system from those arising in the digestive organ itself. The walls of the stomach in itself are thickened; the muscular forces of same are hindered in activity. The conditions are more as that of a CAKE, or LUMP, as is formed, rather than of ulceration or laceration - as yet. These have been produced by exterior influences, and are - or DO they become BROKEN, this must become a condition hard to combat with. The condition is not an operative one, for the tendons of the inflamed portions, hardened portions, have gone too deep into both the pylorus and the pylorus orifice for this to be of an help. There are natural conditions arising in the system from this in the organs of elimination, as the functioning of the liver, of the pancreas, of the alimentary canal itself. All of these suffer under the condition, as does the systems from the POISONS that ACCUMULATE from these disturbances.

4. As we would find, in meeting the conditions in the present - as well as the body-mental force meeting those conditions necessary for the proper attitudes towards self, towards its surroundings, towards that as has been builded by itself; knowing that these may be cleansed through the forces as are innate within each individual to bring resuscitation to any tissue within the system, through THE introspection of self and its relationships to the divine within; applying in accordance with those forces as lie within, that may effect and enable the consciousness of each atomic force within the system itself to MEET the needs - THESE we would find in the present:

5. In the first we would give very small doses of the activated ash, one-eighth grain three times each day - but in the first THREE days only ONCE a day, then the second twice, then three times each day - and keep this up for at LEAST eighteen to twenty days.

6. On the third days - that is, every third day - we would add those vibrations from that of the ULTRA violet ray, and make the application of same to the 6th and 7th dorsal center of a specific nature by shielding the light except to those centers. This should be given at least thirty-eight inches from the body, and for not over two and a half minutes in the beginning.

7. We would also gather, in or from the country, those of the green ambrosia weed - just the leaves; not the stem or the seed (as it is seeding time). We would CHEW this, not retaining any save the juice as comes from the CHEWING of the weed - see? This would require two to three leaves at a time. This may be done once or twice a day. This would be better than the distillation of same, or from the COMBINING of this with others, under the existent condition.

8. The water that is taken, we would alternate between that of small pinches of elm in a glass of water just before taking and a weak solution of the yellow saffron. These, will be found, will combine better with those of the ash - as well as of the electrical forces as will be applied.

9. Beware of ANY element that carries too much alcohol in same. The foods would be those that are NOURISHING, as those of the oils, those of tripe, those of codliver, codliver oils, calves’ liver (not sodden, but not with grease), those of blood puddings WITH the liver would be well. This will give stimuli and active forces with those of the system.

10. Do this for at least twenty-one days, then we may alter or change as to meet the needs of the condition.

11. Be oft in prayer, OFT in meditation, SEEING self gaining the proper nourishment, proper resuscitating forces from those elements being given to the system for its resuscitation.

13. With the ash there is those elements that will allow more oxygen to be carried in the blood to ALL affected or afflicted portions of the system, giving an impulse that allows drosses and refuse forces to be more easily eliminated from the system.

14. The active forces of the electrical vibration for system merely acts as an IMPULSE to cause those centers from which the system receives nerve and blood impulse from the ganglia in the region as given (in the dorsal) to the system itself, centralizing and acting WITH the system.

15. Those of the ambrosia weed act, with its secretion by the masticating of same, with the gastric juices that come to the system from the glands in the digestive portion of system, to make for the eliminations to be accentuated without carrying too much stimuli to any portion that produces STRAIN, or an OVER force of the lymph and emunctory activity, either in the extremities or through the digestive system.

R1. 9/11/31 Letter from GD: “Dear Miss […]: We are rushing to you the reading for your uncle. When you wired we thought you wanted a check-physical for yourself.

“I hope you will be able to carry out to the letter the treatment suggested. I would advise that you get in touch with Miss [275] and see if she cannot let you have a few capsules of the activated ash, so that you could start the treatment immediately. Then you could order the number of eighth-grain capsules needed for the eighteen to twenty days from, Mr. B. H. Bradley, 5443 Maryland Ave., Chicago, Ill.

“I don’t think you will have any trouble getting the other things prescribed. If you do, please let us know and we will help in any way possible. As you no doubt know, the ambrosia weed is the plain common ragweed that you find growing in the field.

“Please let us hear from you as to how he responds. Hoping that we have been and may be of service to him, as we have been to many others, I am…”

R2. 9/13/31 Niece [2096]‘s letter to EC: “Allow me first of all to thank you very, very much for rushing the physical rdg. of my uncle [2097] to me.

“However, my uncle passed away about 1:30 on Friday afternoon [9/11/31].

“I regret very much that I did not have the proper support to obtain this reading long before now, as I have all the confidence in the world that if I had, my uncle would still be with us today.

“Again, allow me to thank you for all you have done for me.”

R3. 9/16/31 Letter from EC to [2096]: “I have yours of the 13th, and I am sorry indeed to know that you didn’t even have the opportunity to try the suggestions given. I realize, from our own experience, how futile words are at such times. I’m sure he must have been a great sufferer, and possibly an all-wise Creator saw best that it should not go farther. May His peace and His understanding come to you at all times! Know that we are always glad to try to be of help, but realize we are very weak and very short-armed.

Please have Mrs. C. ask for detailed instructions as to whatever diseased condition there exists.
