GC: You will give the physical conditions of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for the improvement of same.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have had this before, you see.
-
Now, we find there is some change in the body since last we had this. While the outward appearance shows the change has been very slight, yet we find that the inclinations and the incentives in the portions where the circulation in exterior portions, and in the extremities of the body, show some improvement. More feeling is in the limbs, both in the lower portion and through the trunk portion of the body. We need only at present to keep those properties for the body as has been outlined; that is, the massaging of the body well over all portions that show the conditions, and especially in those portions where the absorption of same in system will react. That is, across the small of the back, through the groins, over the lower portion of the body, under the arm pits, massage well into the body the Balsam of Sulphur. Also keep more of the Olive Oil rubbing, as outlined for the body.
-
We would now add with the Olive Oil rubbing, or massaging, the heat that would be found in very strong direct rays from electric lights directed to the body. This may be given in the home; that is, using the rays from very strong lights over the spine, with the body turned face down, and over the limbs, as this is rubbed into the body. Let this be kept for the present time, for we will bring better conditions for this body through these means, as outlined.
-
Do that, [21].
-
We are through with this at the present time.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/9/24 EC’s letter: “We were unable to take the reading for Miss [21] on the 6th at the appointed time, but it was taken this afternoon, as you will see, and I’m glad to note that there is some indication of the condition being better than when we last had it. This, perhaps, is not so very perceptible as yet, but I’m sure there must be some.
“In the reading, I notice that the same things are to be kept up for the body at the present time, with the added application of direct rays of heat while the body is being massaged with the Olive Oil. This, I am sure, you can easily do yourself, as it will only be necessary to have a good strong reflector over your electric light globe and have an extension cord with a very strong globe that you can keep suspended right over the body as you rub the Olive Oil in. Be sure and let me hear from you from time to time. I’m in hopes that in the next three to four weeks you will see a great deal more change, and at that time we will see what is necessary to be kept for the body.
“Thanking you, and hoping to be of real service, I am…”
R2. 5/13/57 GD’s note: Apparently the reading was describing a steam cabinet which later was put on the market, used in physiotherapy.
R3. 1/26/40 HLC’s letter: “In checking through our files I find that we have not a complete report on your daughter, Miss [21]‘s case. Two readings were given for her, and we should be interested in knowing just what results were obtained in following the suggestions. We are enclosing a blank which you may use for this purpose.
“We believe that you will be interested to know about our 1940 Building Program, which will make it possible for us to house and make a scientific study of the thousands of readings such as those for your daughter, which are now in our files. We are sure that every individual whose records are a part of such data will want to take part in the development of this program. Each reading contains valuable information when segregated and checked with other similar readings, which furnish valuable information on any specific subject. Your interest and cooperation in this project shall be deeply appreciated.”
R4. 5/13/57 GD’s note: No further report was received on this case. We have assumed, from the reading, that it was a polio case, though there is nothing in the files other than the reading to indicate what the condition actually was. Such a light cabinet was recommended years later for polio for [2778]. I wrote the mother today asking her to give us the age of her daughter at the time of the reading, also the doctor’s diagnosis of her condition.
R5. 3/7/60 Mother of [21] wrote asking to be taken off our mailing list, so we assume that her experience was not satisfactory. We still don’t know how to index the case. It is unlikely that the reading was followed.
