Born September 13, 1880, in San Francisco, California. Time of Reading 3:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York, N.Y. (Life Reading Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are latent and manifested in the personalities of the present entity, known as - or called now - [2121]. Had a hard time with him the first few days!

2. In entering, we find the entity in this present experiences comes under those influences astrologically from those sojourns that influence in the present, as Jupiter, as Mercury, as Venus, as Uranus.

3. In the influences, then, that some call “good breaks”, or circumstances that come to an entity through that individuals are prone to call “pull”, THESE - as we find - are builded in THIS entity through those things BUILDED by self in the application of self as RESPECTING THOSE OPPORTUNITIES - and THESE we find innate and builded from the astral experiences:

4. One with a vision of opportunity for self, as well as for others.

5. One that may be termed an exceptionally good judge of human nature, especially as reacting to the moral and the financial side of physical experience.

6. One that often acts on intuitive feelings or hunches, or premonitions, yet one that oft, too, listens at the many sides of questions or propositions and BALANCES them within the own mind before acting.

7. One to whom many will naturally look for leadership in the form of direction in material, in social, and in financial affairs. While the influences and the activities have been in the present in the directing of organized work, or organizations to do definite propositions as relate to individuals’ activities, and that is to INFLUENCE the moral, the spiritual AND the material activities of others, yet the GREATER activity, as we find, in the latter portion of the present experience, will be in that of finance organizations, that as may be of investment corporations and organizations; dealing, in the latter portion, then, of the present experience, with the exchange BETWEEN groups, individuals, organizations, rather than with the lives of individuals as associated WITH organizations in the greater way and manner.

8. In Mercury we find that of a mental ability, rather as APPLIED - than being called in the developing years of exceptional talent; rather used that that was latent from WITHIN, and acting upon initiatives from within intuitive influences, and taking advantage of those that HAVE voiced from WITHIN the mode, manner, or line OF endeavor; whether as related to individuals or that that AFFECTED individuals in their moral, their civic, economic, or spiritual life. Politics, in a manner, has had its part - rather as the outcome of activities, than the activities as become the outcome of political action on the part of the entity or associates.

9. In Venus we find making for the abilities to “tend to his own business”. This bringing also that of the friendships, associations in the present experience of the entity, as makes for that ability to not rule by iron rule or law; rather with the love, not altogether of affluence - nor altogether of that that is of the nature that makes for bigotry in some; rather the abilities to COORDINATE that of the BETTER natures in individuals’ lives that make for that leadership in many directions, and that combined WITH those influences as seen from Uranus, as turned - or could be turned - to those of a FINANCIAL nature in the latter portion of the present experience.

10. The entity, in its abilities, is as an executive, as one that may weigh, measure, judge, or CONSIDER conditions of a business - or of the WHOLE, SOLE, DEVELOPING manner - at the peak of its abilities. Not lacking, not slothful, not deteriorating in the abilities in the present experience.

11. In the appearances in the earth, and that that makes for personality in the present experience:

12. In the one then before this we find about that place where there were the first settlements in the land of nativity. The entity among those with the wooden-legged mayor, or director, that GOVERNED the rule of the island about the entity’s present activities. In the name Druel was the entity then among those that assisted in the establishing, with Stuyvesant, of those closer relationships with the various peoples that settled there, under one directing, though, of many different ideas, many different peoples. Hence in the present has ever been the abilities, or the personality, to make for an ease of manner in whatsoever ENVIRON the entity or body may find itself. The entity developed AND lost through this experience. Developed as to an ability to make for a PLEASING association, being capable of making all at ease; yet from those of the self-indulgences IN the experience has brought in the present that inability to make SELF always at ease in surroundings that make telltales within own self’s feelings.

13. In the one then before this we find in that of the Grecian period, in the name Cycloclopidides, that brought to those peoples much of that development in the arenas, or in those of the stadiums in the hills, with play, with activities of the various DEGREES of the art of expressing to those that as would teach peoples, whether to war, whether rebellion, whether of peace, whether of that that came as learnings in the various degrees of that depicted during the period. The entity rather that as one directing, yet one of the actors, too, even with Pericles, and those that made much sway. The entity then one in power, one that under many, yet ruling many as one above the entity in social or in the position as for the governmental rulings; yet the entity gained throughout the experience, as in the personality in the present brings those abilities to change, alter, many of the VIEWS of others; not by so many words, rather that of the activities, and that of being able to go to the center, the heart, or the basic TRUTH of any proposition, whether as related to the activities of individuals or as that that will influence individuals, or the populace, or the common peoples - as was in that experience.

14. In the one then before this we find in that land now known as the Egyptian land, and during those periods when there were the interchanging of those of the white, the red, the black; not of the negroid, but the black. The entity then among those that set up that RULE in the Egyptian land that partook of those experiences of the various peoples in the various lands; BUILDING same rather during the period of peace between the many tribes of the many lands, and the one second before that of the invasion of Arart into the same lands; for the entity was then the uncle of that one who led into that land that made for many changes. In the name Artshi. The entity gained through this experience, for many were the benefits that were derived from the entity’s activities among these peoples, in not only making for better associations - but of that that took on those of the study of the INNATE, or that of the psychic forces in human development. In the present makes for that experience where oft the entity without knowing how, why, where or when, receives as from within the answer to many a question in material undertakings. In the abilities of the entity in that and in the present, will be much that will be in common, especially in building for the storehouses that may rule not only peoples of one, yea three of five lands, if builded in the FINANCIAL world.

In the one then before this we find in that land known as the Atlantean, during that period when there were the separations of the bodies as male and female, for the entity then began one of power in the period - and making for those of the first TEMPORAL abodes, in houses that were of peculiar structure, that oft comes to the entity’s inner self in the present of that CIRCULAR home, house, abode, or city, or peoples, that there may be the proper differentiations in those of the abilities of individuals to mete out that of a PRODUCTIVE nature; whether the layman, that produces that of the original, or whether those that make for the change into the use of the various efforts of the various groups in THEIR respective sphere, or whether in that that DISTRIBUTES to the NEEDS of those that labor IN the various fields OF the passing of foods, apparel, OR what not, from the PRODUCTIVE end to that of the USER, or of the distributor. In the name Uclz. In the present may the entity, in the latter portion, gain much of visions that may lead to that wherein much as used, or abused (as the entity lost in that experience) for a MATERIAL, and if used properly - a soul development in the present.

16. In the abilities, and that to which the entity may attain, and how:

17. As we find, that as may be called a success in the material affairs is achieved. That that is CONTENTMENT for the inner man, not yet. Keep that faith that has BUILDED from within IN the various steps of progress in the material world, where the greater service from those guided or directed by the efforts of self has SERVED others. For the MATERIAL successes, in those channels that do with financing organizations, or corporations, may bring that of a satisfying in the material. CONTENTMENT can ONLY come in the spiritual.

My dear Mr. [437]:

This morning I was looking over the current issue of … and noticed an article regarding an interview with Mr. [2121] in which he made reference to reincarnation. And the manner in which he expressed himself reminded me a great deal of what was said in his Life Reading some years ago. Naturally, this brought up many of the conversations we have had. I know you are quite busy; consequently, I don’t want to bother you, but I would like to keep in touch with you. It is quite interesting to see from unexpected sources something coming out of what may have been at least a help for an individual. For an individual of Mr. [2121]‘s calibre to have formed an opinion or to give an expression to it even in a jocular way and manner showed that it made some impression. Or, if it did not produce the impression, no doubt it encouraged him in his thinking.

I have been wondering and intending to write you about Mr. [434] as to how he has gotten along. I would be very glad to hear from him, and to hear from you when you have the chance to write. Know we feel we would like to keep rather in close touch with you, and have you keep in as close touch with the Work as your interests justify.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I was happy to receive the copy of “There is a River” which I am reading slowly and carefully.

I am gradually arriving at the conviction that an interesting, unusual and thought-provoking picture could be based on the book. The problem would be to arouse interest in the major studios. However, among the many independent producers, I may come across one who would have the courage and foresight to see the possibilities of such a picture.

Thank you for your promptness in sending me the book. I trust your trip home was a pleasant one.

Dear Sir,

“I am writing to request a copy of a life reading given by Edgar Cayce to my father, Jesse L. Lasky, then a head of Paramount Pictures… My father was a film pioneer and a founder of Paramount. I am working on a revision of his memoirs, first published by Doubleday in 1957, the year before his death. I would like to be able to comment on the life reading… My father had several visits with Hugh Lynn Cayce in the ’50s; he had read ‘There Is A River’, knew Gina Cerminara who wrote so eloquently about the Cayce work, and would have liked to produce a film on his life…”

Thank you for sending my father’s readings, and the contents of your files. The enclosed clippings should provide the information you need to update his records.

The Lasky Collection (Jesse L. Lasky) is housed at the Center for Motion Picture Study, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Margaret Herrick Library, 333 South La Cienega Blvd., Beverly Hills, California 90211; Telephone (213) 247-3000; Reference (213) 247-3020. The collection is available for film scholars, writers, researchers, etc., by appointment. It is mainly a research collection with lots of photos, correspondence, etc. I add to it from time to time as new photos, etc., turn up.

The Library of Congress Music Division and Motion Picture Division also have some Lasky memorabilia as does the Museum of Modern Art Film Dept., New York…
