This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th Street & Ocean, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of August, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - Dr. [2127].

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are latent and manifested in the entity, [2127].

2. In entering, we find astrologically the entity coming under influences of Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, Neptune. These in their variations as the entity has applied itself in respect the influence in the earth’s plane, and in the sojourn out of, or from same. These are builded influences, as well as retrospective influences, RELATIVELY speaking, and it would be well for THIS entity in its study of its (the entity’s) relationship and DEVELOPMENT, ESPECIALLY in the psychic forces of self, to STUDY this relative position, as well as relative activity in SELF’S life, as it has and does study the anatomical conditions in the human body; for, as has oft been given, there are those aspects in human experience materially manifested that are the shadow of things, conditions, that do NOT appear, yet are the motivating forces in developing of a soul through the varied or various EXPERIENCES in each EARTHLY sojourn.

3. In Mercury, (irrespective now of will) there is that innate or latent manifestation of a high mental development of rather the analytical nature. In Mercury also that influence as makes for the seeking into those of the unseen sources of force, power, or that that “makes the wheels go round.”

4. In Uranian we find the extremist, and those tendencies that have occurred in the experience of the entity to allow the temper to control, which - WITHOUT the modifying OF the will AND the mental abilities - would have, has done at times, CAUSED MANY an UNPLEASANT reaction for the body-mental understanding. In the influences as the entity HAS applied in will’s force as respecting this, has been well. While not wholly under CONTROL, has been able to MODIFY same through that ofttimes of Saturn’s influence, which - for the moment - meant spite; yet tempered with Jupiter and with Venus has turned same into rather that of the influence as would be apparent from the psychological, ANALYTICAL mind, as to BE or to BECOME - as the entity has - politic. This BETTER THAN not at all, but remember well - as has been given - he that would have mercy, he that would have friends, he that would have love, must be merciful, must be KIND, must be forgiving - and FORGIVING means having FORGOTTEN. In the manner as one metes must and WILL it be meted TO one again, and would the entity develop in THIS experience there must be that manifestation of will’s force, not only having BEEN POLITIC in its activity for the psychological influence that necessitates for the activities of the entity in its chosen contact with its brother, but rather that there be rooted out BY those applications of kindnesses, patience, brotherly love, long-suffering, that that would make for a greater understanding, and build that that will make FOR a REAL development. In Uranian forces also there comes those natural trends toward those of occult or psychic influences. These MAY BE developed to a callable, or pliable, or activated force WITHIN self by those entering-ins OF the entity into the silence, that that consciousness OF the God LIFE may flow THROUGH the entity, THROUGH the self, IN its activities, IN the manners outlined, as it goes in and out before men. In that influence also there will come, with the ascendency again of Jupiter, that appreciable change in the worldly possessions OF the entity. Let not that that may so easily become a besetting sin, as it has to many, alter that activity OF self in its relationships to its fellow man. Rather let that increase be a greater channel OF the self, BECOMING a Channel for blessings for many. In THIS manner may the entity BEING a development for self, that will bring - as was given of old - Seek ye the kingdom while it may be found, and all those NECESSARY, all those things will be added UNTO thee.

5. In the personalities as are manifested in the entity:

One amiable; easily being friendly when the entity so desires, while there remains ever that timidity - that often termed indifference; for the entity - seeing and feeling innately its own shortcomings - through that attempt to make WILL politic, rather than spiritual, makes for a misunderstanding often in those the entity contacts. Remember, “As ye sow, so shall ye reap.”

7. In the appearances, and the effect these have upon the entity in the present experience:

8. In the one then before this we find in that land now known as England, and among those peoples that arose in REBELLION, as it were, for their rights, their privileges. These, as we find, became TO the entity as a portion of the entity’s being. In the name Kird. In this experience the entity gained AND lost. GAINED in the IDEAL as was set, yet losing in that attained turned to selfish ends. In the present has made for those influences, those environs, that has made for decided views as respecting those of either political, economic, or religious views. Hence the entity has, by main strength and awkwardness, prevented from discussing or debating such subjects to many for this reason, and this class of subject often riles something from within, even as it did when the entity with Cromwell STORMED the city.

9. In the one then before this we find in that land now known as the Roman, and during that period when there were the teachings of the Nazarene being given to the peoples of the land. The entity then among the nobles of the land, and among those who WAITED upon the infirmities of Nero, and in the name Thepolia. In this experience the entity gained most through the services as were given to friend and foe alike. Though the entity oft did that under command, there was through that experience an ever desire to know more of that that enabled an individual to give even their life for a cause, for an ideal, and how that one UNDER persecution could bless them that persecuted them. Hence the analytical mind as we see manifested in the zealot in England, we see builded in the Roman household. Music, and the lighter things of life call often to the entity, especially those of the stringed instruments have a PECULIAR echo in the vibrations of the very SOUL OF the entity, from many of the hideous - yet beautiful - experiences in that sojourn.

10. In the one before this we find in that land now known as the Egyptian, and during these periods of the application of those tenets as had been gained by a mighty peoples, and a mighty purpose. The entity then among those who took up the dispensing of those tenets, as WELL as the APPLICABLE truths that pertained to MATERIAL BETTERMENT to groups, to classes, to masses. The entity then became an emissary, starting those of the first of the schools in that highly developed land in another direction, in that NOW known as the Persian and Arabian land. Then in the name Helias. In this experience the entity excelled, and made much progress in the experience, for service being the keynote of the entity there came with same that understanding of WHY the entity came THROUGH THAT experience; and as the soul gathers here a little, there a little, of why, because OF the entering in, how that one may make THEMSELVES the shadow OF the Creative Forces IN the material plane.

11. In the abilities of the entity, and that to which it may attain, and how:

12. As has been seen from the experiences from the sojourn, from the inclinations, first must the entity CONQUER self. Make its IDEALS one - with a purposeful, usefulness IN ITS relationships with its fellowman! In so doing may there be brought that understanding, as it applies itself in the chosen field - which is aright; as was followed in at least two experiences, yea seven of the experiences, brought just the same application to the healing OF those infirmities in the PHYSICAL body. As this opportunity offers that of giving the one seeking, needing, aid, healing, let them know that the real healing is the awakening of their consciousness within of the divine that is HIDDEN, LATENT there; for as the awakening comes in the expression of self TO those the entity contacts, so does in the APPLYING bring knowledge, understanding, workable knowledge, and CONSCIOUSNESS of the divine. Ready for questions.

I want to thank you ever so much for my life reading [2127-1] which reached me the other day. I feel sure that it is going to be worth a great deal to me. I asked a lot of questions which were not specifically answered, yet I believe that most of them were answered as well as they can be at this stage. I want to send you some money sometime but I am feeling the pinch a good deal just now. But hope things will be easier one of these days.

Dear Dr. [2127]

For some time I’ve been intending to write and send to you one of our articles on Life Readings [1/33 Article by HLC - See under 2265-1 Reports.]. You will find one under separate cover. I think you will find it quite worth while, in comparison with your Life Reading [2127-1]. Also I am sending one of the current Bulletins, which I think you will find interesting, as there is an address in there - during our Congress - by the leading osteopath in this vicinity. You probably know him [7/33 Bul., 2nd article by M. L. Richardson, D.O., “Observations on Mr. Cayce’s Psychic Physical Readings.”].

How are you all? I hope you are planning to spend at least a few days in Virginia Beach this summer. It is lovely here now; quite a crowd of visitors, but nice.

Miss Gladys Davis Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Miss Davis:

I was very glad to hear from you early in July and to receive the article on Life Readings which I have just read and enjoyed very much. I think it will be helpful to me. The reason for my being so slow in replying is that we were away from the office for four weeks and then when we returned did not get to your letter for awhile.

I thought of you two weeks ago during the heavy storm and hope that you all escaped any serious damage. I wish that financial conditions were such that I could contribute to the work and have more of it done. I have been able to collect only about enough for us to live on. Have been unable to pay on my property for months and see no immediate prospects of improvement.

I would like very much to have further readings for my little girl and see what they show for her. Also I would like so much to have a life reading for my daughter who has just finished high school. I am very much interested in this work and want to know more about it. But I very much doubt if we shall get to Virginia Beach this fall. Thanking you for remembering me I am,

Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach Va.,

Dear Mr. Cayce;

I have been very much interested in you and your psychic activities ever since my visit to you several years ago and have often wished that it were possible for me to keep in closer touch with you and to make some use of the wonderful gift which you have.

However I do not seem able to make the proper adjustments in my own life to enable me to make a real success of my practice. The number of patients who come to me is quite small, probably because of my failure to make them feel that I am caring for them adequately. Consequently my income is very low and does not permit my making any considerable contribution for any purpose.

I am enclosing one dollar in response to your request for funds because you tried to help me when I needed it. Some time I want to come and see you again and perhaps I may be able to make a more worthwhile contribution some day.

R5. 10/21/68 Dr. [2127]‘s sister and her son visited A.R.E. She said that Dr. [2127] is still living, but he retired many years ago. His wife died a few years ago, and he remarried

• a woman much younger than he, who belonged to the same spiritual center (so-called) to which he and his former wife had retreated some years ago and had put all their money into it. She [the sister] felt this unwise, but they both seem carried away with it. Now the leader of the center, a man in his forties, has married Dr. [2127]‘s granddaughter in her twenties.

R6. 12/4/68 Dr. [2127] wrote GD a final report on his little afflicted daughter’s case. See 4128-2.

R7. 10/5/78 GD’s note: The 1976 American Osteopathic Association Directory lists Dr. [2127]‘s death as occurring in the Spring of 1974 [at the age of 86 yrs.].
