This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of March, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [2147], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [2147] who is at the … House, …, New York City, and the document now in his possession about which he seeks information at this time. Considering the ideals and purposes of this entity, and the various conditions and circumstances surrounding the matter to which this document relates, you will advise him in using successfully the information it contains, answering the questions he has submitted, as I ask them. If for ANY reason the securing and giving of this Reading will be disturbing or harmful to the channel Edgar Cayce in any way, you will say that this may not be given, and explain the reason.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [2147].

3. Now, as to the document, its contents and its purpose, - as related to the body:

4. As has oft been indicated through these channels, such information as purported to be here must answer to something within the consciousness and purposes of the entity himself.

5. To attempt to interpret, or to give directions from this source, would merely become a confusion, - unless this source were entrusted to the entity here for activity, or this channel; and this is NOT desirable.

6. There are many things, many cross currents, as we find, that enter in; but this is partially legend, partially the desire of individuals to give some hope, or to draw upon the mental and material affairs of some.

7. We do not find that there are the attempts to defraud. We do not find cross currents that would be hindrances, or that there are other sources that would become as destructive influences, - ONCE the entity has convinced himself of the authenticity, as well as the directions which are indicated.

8. Then, we would give, rather, that the entity analyze self and self’s purposes; and analyze the information, the data, and corroborate same with the actual physical conditions.

9. Thus there may come that which would be the more enlightening, and the more ability of the entity to obtain desired results.

10. Such are not attained at once; but study all phases, all attempts that will be made or may be made to assist or hinder in the carrying on of this search, or research; and do not attempt to go too fast, but know all phases before any active decision is made or before any active work is done.
