This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach Va., this 22nd day of March, 1940, in accordance with request made by the son - Mr. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [1826]”s husband, brother of Mrs. [394].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2152].

3. As we find, the disturbances which prevent the better normal functioning are rather complex in their nature. These have been a gradual development, at times becoming very acute; when there were the accumulations in the lymph pockets, or tumors, that caused a great deal of distress, necessitating removal.

4. Such removals, however, as we find, have NOT removed the causes; and thus there has been little relief save temporarily, when there were those subjugations or stoppages by the activities of the anaesthesia, as well as the mere removing of great quantities of accumulations.

5. This tendency for accumulations arises, we find, from a complication of disturbances to the eliminating and assimilating systems; also those disturbances which gradually arose from the glandular system not adjusting itself during those changing periods.

6. Thus there has been the greater accumulation of acid, acidity in the system, lack of proper coagulations in plasms of the blood stream, and an unbalancing in the vibratory forces of the blood supply in various portions of the body; as in the extremities, - and this, as indicated, caused the accumulations through the trunk portion of the body, when eliminations were not carried on.

7. As we find, then, this makes for rather a complex condition; but the administering of drugs, - save when necessary for acute pain, - is of little effect, except to make for greater quantities of drosses, refuse or toxic forces, to be eliminated from the system.

8. Hence we have had a gradual lessening of the energies, without the abilities of the system to rebuild or replenish.

9. Then, - we find that more of nature’s applications to the system would be advised; the low electrical forces as will disseminate or prevent accumulations, and cause a better vibratory force through the body; and then a stimulation to those centers and areas through the body as to assist in setting up better drainages through the body.

10. Thus we will bring the better influences, and make for activities that will be much more in accord with ease and rest for the body.

Naturally, the nerve systems have become very much upset at times; at others the body will lie as in a daze, or between consciousness and semi-consciousness; at others we find the abilities for the locomotion become disturbed, by the blocking in portions of the circulatory forces, - the circulation in part, as well as nerve energies in part.

12. Hence, we would give:

13. We would use the low electrical vibrations of a static nature, or chemically produced, through the Wet Cell Appliance; carrying alternately - one used one day, one the next - Atomidine and Spirits of Camphor.

When using the Atomidine, - the small copper plate would be attached to the 9th dorsal plexus; while the larger nickel plate, through which the Atomidine passes vibratorially (commercial strength Atomidine, and the full three ounces may be sufficient for one series, or for the entire fifteen treatments with same, you see) - would be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct area, or three fingers from the navel center towards the right.

15. The Camphor, used the next day, would be as follows: The small copper plate would be attached over the lumbar axis; while the larger nickel plate, through which the Camphor passes vibratorially (Spirits of Camphor, commercial strength) would be attached over the umbilical and lacteal duct area, the same as the day before.

16. These attachments would be made for one hour each day; one solution used one day, the other the next day, and the attachments made in the manner indicated.

17. The solutions would be kept in separate containers, to be sure; and the connections that pass THROUGH same would be REMOVED after the period of the application, and only put back in again when ready to be attached at the next application.

18. Change the solutions after fifteen treatments with each solution, you see; and recharge the Appliance after thirty days.

19. Also each day, for at least ten to fifteen days (and then these may be made farther apart), we would have the mechanical applications as may be administered in a general massage, with GENTLE - not heavy but GENTLE - corrections especially in the lumbar axis, 9th dorsal, 4th and 5th dorsal, and through the cervical areas.

20. We would have such adjustments as Thomson makes.

21. As to the diet, - we would take beef juice as medicine two to three times each day, and only very small sips at the time when taken; not more than a teaspoonful at a time, and this sipped, - not just taken and swallowed, but sipped; so that with the activity of the salivary glands there may be the better assimilation with the gastric flow of mouth, esophagus and the stomach itself. Prepare the beef juice with the lean beef; no fat whatsoever in same.

22. Also we would have the whole wheat cereal (crushed or cut), and cut oats (not rolled oats), as a part of the diet often. Each of these should be cooked for at least two hours, and served with milk or cream, and sweetened with honey - NOT with cane sugar!

23. We would have plenty of vegetables, vegetable juices; and especially carrots, lettuce, spinach and celery (these cooked, as well as raw).

24. These will aid in establishing better assimilations for the body.

25. As we find, if these are kept, they will bring the better influences and forces for this body, [2152].

See extra sheet [which was enclosed] of directions for the massage and adjustments. We would refer you to Dr. D. C. Thompson [D. Carl Thompson, D.C.], chiropractor, who has treated several people according to the Reading suggestions, with beneficial results.

Dear Mr. […]

Our files show that you secured a physical reading for your mother in March, 1940. We would like to bring our case histories up to date and will appreciate it if you will fill out the enclosed report blank covering her reading. From your correspondence, I observe that you gave no description of your mother’s condition; and therefore, the analysis given in the reading is important as evidence in research work of this kind. I note that the reading states that there had been in the past accumulation in lymph pockets or tumors. Evidently operative measures had been resorted to but the cause of these was not removed. The result, as indicated by the reading, was an upset glandular condition affecting the blood plasm. There is a description of a semi-conscious or dazed condition, and the inability for movement. We would like very much to know whether the treatments were followed in detail and what results have been obtained.

Some of the treatments recommended were similar to those suggested for Mrs. [394] who made a remarkable recovery. If there is anything we can do to insure the following of these treatments, please advise us. We have learned from long experience with this work that suggestions given in a reading must be followed exactly as given if results are to be obtained. While my father’s readings are not magical in that every individual who secures a reading immediately gets well, we have a remarkable percentage of recoveries in the most serious types of illness, where suggestions are followed.

Our records are most important in our research activity, and I will appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

I would like for you to know about the expansion program which is now being undertaken by our Association. This will go far in insuring the preservation and scientific presentation of my father’s work. We are anxious to make it possible for every individual who has been benefitted through these readings to have an opportunity to take part in making this program a success.
