Christian Background) This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of March, 1940, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [2110], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2155].

3. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, little of that in keeping with the indication in the experience of the entity would appear at first to be compatible. Yet, if there is a thorough analyzing of same, this may be found to be indicated in the activities of that entity now known as, or called, [2155].

4. From the astrological aspects we find the latent urges. As to what has been done, may be done with an urge, depends upon the will of the individual.

5. The will here, in this entity, has been and is often dominated by influences other than the real innate desires of the entity. This is self-apparent within the experience of the entity, as well as those about the entity.

6. Then, what is the cause, - and what may be done respecting same, in such experiences?

7. As we find, these urges, these latent abilities, are manifested only when there is the ability for the application of the entity’s will.

8. Hence there is the indication of those happenings in the periods of conception, presentation, birth, which have deflected the energies arising from the spiritual attributes, as well as the physical application of mental attributes within the experience.

9. Thus it may be said that there was an accident in nature, in the natural sources.

10. Then, the natural question arises, - why did such have to be, or have to present itself in the present environs, present surroundings manifested in the experience of the entity, as well as in the experiences of those about the entity?

11. THAT THE GLORY OF GOD, as manifested in the material world, might be taken more and more into consideration in the experience of the entity, - as applied in the experiences of those responsible for this material manifestation of one so destined as to be under the influence, the direction oft, of an uncontrolled power within the experience of the entity.

12. As to why, or what produced this, - may be gained the more from the paralleling of the experiences of those who are responsible for this material manifestation of a physically perfect body almost, in physical reactions, - yet the incoordination of the spiritual-mental and physical-mental becomes as a terrifying experience oft in the experiences of those physically about the entity.

13. Hence we find these as latent abilities for this entity:

In the quieter, gentler moments, it may be seen that the entity is one inclined towards the manifestation and the appreciation of nature, and nature’s manifestations; as well as of those things that are to the mechanical nature having to do with conveniences and appliances and applications that are to be a helpful experience in the affairs of individuals.

15. What, then, ye ask, is the ability to which the entity may attain, and how:

As has been indicated, in an analytical and pathological study of the conditions which presented themselves at the time of presentation, or at birth, - there was an injury to those areas in the lacteal duct or center, just below the gall duct area; where the assimilations and activities as related to the coordination between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal find their activity in the lower portion of the medulla oblongata as related to the nervous system.

17. This unbalanced condition produces those periods when there is, as it were, a MONTHLY - or a moon’s activity within the experiences of the entity, from its sojourn in that environment, which brings an urge by its latent manifestation, - and finds its material expression in those activities which we have designated as a period of mishap, an accident, a slip of that which is just a little beyond the normal.

18. Thus all in the environ and in the activity are meeting themselves; that each may gain a lesson of patience in time and in space; that they each may be more aware of their souls and their relationships to their Maker.

19. Yet, as we find, we might bring the abilities of the entity to more appreciate those activities to which it is heir, - if there will be applied these things consistently in the material experience, for days and series, and days and series! That is:

We would apply the heavy Castor Oil Packs for an hour each day, as hot as the body can well stand, or applied warm, over the whole of the liver and caecum area, extending to the central portion of the body and over the entire right side. When the Pack is removed, gently massage the area with an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil; also massaging this combination of oils along the spinal system from which impulses arise, - from the base of the brain to at least the 3rd dorsal area.

21. Do these in series of five days each, leaving off five days, and then repeating; and so on, for an indefinite period; being very consistent and persistent with same, so as to eventually break up these lesions.

22. Also, - to prevent the possession of the entity, in its attempt to coordinate those impulses arising through the sensory forces of the system to the activity through the central nervous system and the cerebrospinal system, - we would use each day for thirty minutes the lowest form of electrical vibration; static, preferably.

23. Ready for questions.

24. (Q) Is there any other way he can be helped to disentangle his mind and be free from his affliction? (A) As has been indicated.

25. We are through for the present.

R1. 3/30/40 Edgar Cayce’s letter to Mrs. [2110]:

“Just hope you and the Dr. find the information of interest and most of all that something worthwhile can be worked out of it. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions that occur to about same. Know there isn’t much that I can say about it until know how each of you react to same. Can only hope it is as helpful to your problem as so many tell us such has helped them in theirs.

“It isn’t what is said - am sure but how much is there that you can apply just now toward help.

“Be sure and let me hear, won’t you.

“With sincere regards to each of you and hoping to be the channel for some help,” Sincerely, Edgar Cayce

R3. 8/9/42 Mother’s letter to Edgar Cayce.

“Thank you so much for your kind letter of August 8th. [7/29/42 regarding THERE IS A RIVER - See under 2524-3.]

“I do not know what you thought of us for not replying to [2155]‘s last reading. I can only say I guess it was we were so discouraged and weary at the time.

“We had been through so much. Doctor himself was not well & I well I can only say, God has and always will sustain me. There has been no noticeable improvement in [2155]. Lately the convulsions have been more frequent, but we continue in our Faith that there is a way if we could find the opening. We do everything we can to help him. Our help is lovingly given.

“Surely you must feel that Doctor [539] and I both have always known of your sincerity of purpose, your earnest endeavor to help the afflicted - your sincere devotion to God’s work, your work in His vineyard.

“Doctor [539] is much better than he was a few years ago. Our faith in God’s Love and Power does not falter. There is a way and a ‘how’ and personally I feel that the veil must and will be lifted so that we can see and know that which is hidden from us now.

“God bless and prosper your work and your dear ones. This is our sincere prayer for you. I do not ask you to forgive for I know you have done that long ago. Our problem has exacted much physical endurance.” Sincerely, Dr. [539] & Mrs. [2110]

R4. 9/14/42 Edgar Cayce’s letter to Mrs. [2110]:

“Thank you for yours of the 9th. Can appreciate your feelings very much Mrs. [2110] - and know what it means when one has a burden of heart and mind.

“Believe you and the Dr. will appreciate that in my own case when you read the book - and do hope when you read it you will write me just what you think.

“Am sure there is a way - yes there is a way, can it but be found and you are both right - very right in holding to the Faith and in giving the care lovingly. Sometime, somewhere we will all understand and He can and WILL make it right.

“Glad to hear the Dr. is feeling better. Have constantly regretted that missed you when you were this way some years ago. But feel am well acquainted and count you among my friends, for am sincere if I have any conception of what the word means.

“No there was nothing to forgive. May HIS LOVE and Blessings sustain each of you at all times.” Sincerely, Edgar Cayce

R6. 7/60 Dr. W. N. Pahnke, in his breakdown of 96 cases of Epilepsy from the Edgar Cayce records, made the following notes on Case [2155], saying that these notes “are merely the opinion of the abstractor at the time he read the case plus the correspondence. The main value of these notes is that they give some indication of what the exact diagnosis in each case may or may not be:”

Case #[2155]: Given in 1932. This case was classified in Group 2. The readings said that the condition was primarily mental trouble, and from the description in the correspondence it would seem that there was a psychotic condition involved as well as mental retardation. The patient was described as breaking things and ripping his clothes off. The patient’s father was an M.D. and gave a history of a long drawn out breech delivery. Therefore birth trauma with cerebral hemorrhage was probable. The patient had a complete work-up at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and the condition was described as an interference between the upper and lower neurons in the (cerebral) central nervous system. The patient is described as having convulsions but the only definite description of them is that the patient had spells when he went rigid and had cramps in his legs. The patient was later institutionalized for life, after the death of both parents.
