GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes - we are given the record here of that entity now known as [2157] - high up!
-
In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, these are chosen with the desire and purpose that this may be a helpful experience for the entity.
-
For the entity, while in the material experiences accomplished a very great deal in some phases of the activity, at times there has been a lacking in those things as might stabilize same.
-
Thus in the present we will find periods when apparently there is failure to arrive at those points of contact or conclusions as desired. Yet if these are carried in the spiritual as well as the mental, the material import and material application, there will come those experiences wherein the entity will again be quoted as an authority respecting phases of that which as we find will prove the greater channel of activity of the entity during this experience - aviation.
-
Then, as to activities that arise as urges, - these come as we find from Venus, Mars, Mercury and Neptune. These in their variations, or as to accredited activity, bring quite a varied form of urge or latent influence in the experience.
-
For, from THIS entity’s experience in Venus we find ofttimes those influences that are adverse; that is, the entity easily makes friends, and this can be both a virtue and a fault. For, in all such activities there must be that which is purposeful in each experience, but not to that of vainglory nor for self-indulgence or aggrandizements.
-
In Mercury we find the high mental abilities, especially as related to facts, figures, and MECHANICAL appliances, - especially as related to gas or gas appliances, or gas machines or the like; and these will be the outlet or channels in which the entity would find the greater satisfaction, or the greater outlet for the abilities.
-
For we will find from Mars not only those inclinations for anger, madness, ire to arise, but also the inclination for the inventiveness, the daringness, - as will be seen from the experiences of the entity in the earthly sojourns in other fields of activity.
-
From Neptune also we find the aversion to water and waterways, water activities; and yet there has not been a greater entity to sail the seas than this entity, - in the experiences through the sojourn just previous to the present.
-
Hence, as may be gathered, there are the needs for the tempering of the mental abilities, the physical prowess as will be a part of the entity’s activity in this sojourn, with the SPIRITUAL imports, - if there will be the carrying forward of those activities to the material or mental successes which the entity is capable of accomplishing during this sojourn.
-
These also we find are indicated in the previous sojourns in the earth.
-
Hence we find, while these have not been so great in number as many, they have been as definite influences, definite activities that bear upon the deeper emotions, deeper inclinations and tendencies of the entity in the present.
-
At times there is direct rebellion to authority; and yet tenderhearted, sympathetic in its nature; yet at times chafing under the restraint of things that it desires innately to do, and yet never in defiance of counsel or advice. These as we find are both good and bad, - dependent upon the manner, the purposes, or the spiritual import with which such activity or such changes may come into the experience of this entity.
-
As to the sojourns in the earth, we find:
-
Before this the entity was in the Norse land, and among those who were the daring, as the sailors; and the entity was Eric [See 2157-1, Par. R13 giving Norse incarnations for entire family.], as called through that experience; journeying to or settling in the land of its present nativity.
-
Yet with the experiences through the latter portion of its sojourn, and the activities from which it returned in the period or interim, the entity in the present - as indicated - is averse to water, waterways, water carriers.
-
Hence the daring now is exhibited more in the air, or in ships of the air, - arising from another sojourn, as will be seen.
-
In that experience the entity gained, the entity lost; for there were periods of defiance of not only its associates and companions but of its home life, and the superiors under which the entity acted or labored.
-
Hence there are the needs in the present for the closer counsel as to choices of associations or activities.
-
Before that the entity was in the Persian and Arabian land, during those periods when there were the many activities through the various groups and individuals who gathered in the “city in the hills and the plains.”
-
With the developing of that city as a center from which many of the lands sought exchange, the entity acted in the capacity of an agent, as would be termed in the present, for the exchange company in that particular experience.
-
Hence the desire to see strange lands, strange places, unusual surroundings, unusual environs, has been and is a part of the entity innately. If that channel of activity is carried forward in which the entity may make for the greater outlet of abilities, such will be the entity’s experience in this sojourn, - but in quite a different way than the ships of the desert or the ships of the sea!
-
The name then was Abduel-eenh.
-
Before that the entity was in the Atlantean land, during those periods when the second destruction had brought so many of the islands, and when the Poseidian land was the greater in power; when there were the meetings called for those of many lands, to determine means or manners in which there would be the control or handling of the animals that were destructive to many of the lands.
-
The entity then acted in the capacity of one who guided the ships that sailed both in the air and under water; also was the maker of that which produced the elevators and the connecting tubes that were used by compressed air and steam and the metals in their emanations. All of these were a part of the entity’s experience and development, especially as to things controlled by the facet for the radiation activity from the sun upon metals, and the control of such, as well as the manner of airships through that sojourn.
-
Then the name was Alenor.
-
As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, and that to which it may attain, and how:
-
In those fields of service as indicated are the channels through which greater abilities may be expanded, greater growth may be had in the mental and the material ways.
-
However, these must be tempered with the spiritual import, and never as destructive instruments for the activities among the fellow men.
-
Hence as we find, the entity should choose some of those plants where such machines are made. Make application there; become active in the manufacture and the finishing of such; and in same the entity should develop especially the CONTROLS as related to communications, and the abilities of ships - with the manufacture of which the entity will be associated - in their rise and their descent.
-
So, apply self in those fields of service; remembering, these must ever be tempered with a spiritual import.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should I have some special training before making application for such work? (A) Not necessarily special training; though this, of course, is a matter of study or analyzing within the experiences of self, for that is the manner in which the greater understanding and schooling may be had, - where they are manufactured!
-
(Q) To what special plants would you advise making application? (A) Either in the Balliance [?] or Baltimore [aircraft plant?], or Dayton, Ohio vicinity.
-
(Q) What about Norfolk Navy Yard? (A) Keep away from water; rather those of land than ocean going.
-
(Q) Please tell me what to have as a hobby. (A) Anything pertaining to nature; as birds, animals or the like.
-
(Q) Please give my seal and its colors, also interpretation. (A) The basis would be almost the form of the fleur de lis; with the chalice on the one side, however, and the rose upon the other. These were the emblems, and also the seal, of both Eric AND Alenor. These represent strength, might and power, but with REVERENCE to its duties to others, as well as consideration of their material and physical welfare.
-
(Q) In the Norse land experiences, how often and in what years did I cross the ocean? (A) In 1552, 1509 and 1502.
-
(Q) What was accomplished in that life, either for my own country or for this country? (A) In this country there were the settlements in the northwestern lands; portions even of Montana were reached by the entity, - because the entrance then was through the St. Lawrence, through the Lakes.
Hence the west always has a call, still, for the entity, - and yet the dread of it.
-
(Q) Are there any proofs to be found now in this country, that might prove it? (A) They have just been uncovered by a recent expedition there in Wisconsin!
-
(Q) What would I find there that belongs to me personally? (A) Among the knives and stones that were found, one of those was Eric’s!
-
(Q) Any spiritual advice? (A) As indicated through the experiences and sojourns, those variations that have come in the astrological urges are from the lack of the spiritual application of the truths known. Do not make such a failure in this experience.
-
We are through for the present.

Miss Gladys Davis, Secretary Association for Research and Enlightenment Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Gladys,
I hope you will excuse my business, like attitude at starting this letter. I have been writing some formal letters and I guess I wanted to show off my sixth-grade education.
I guess this letter comes as a slight surprise, after it being such a long time since I saw you in California. I have been intending to write you for quite some time and tell you how much I enjoy, reading the extracts, and more so your Diary letters.
The real purpose, behind this letter is; that I was wondering if it was still possible to acquire a copy of the lecture Hugh Lynn gave on Atlantis, it was quite some time ago. I mentioned it to Mother, but I guess it slipped her mind. Having been there myself, in past experiences, I, naturally am interested. Every once in awhile I get into a discussion of Atlantis, and I usually have to do a little excusing due to lack of information. I think I remember you mentioning that there was a copy of the records of Atlantis there in the Asso. library, when I saw you in California. However, by the time I get home and an opportunity to read them, well, it’s hard to say just when I will come home again. I would deeply appreciate what information you can give me, at, of course, your convenience.
May I again extend my best wishes for the fine work you and the rest are doing.
Sincerely, [2157]
[GD’s note: How about sending him the Atlantis bulletin? - Sent 5/26/47]
R6. 1/4/51 Mr. [2157]‘s ltr. to HLC:
Dear Hugh Lynn,
I am enclosing my first installment on my promised donation to the Foundation. I sincerely hope this will, in some small respect, aid in the fine work the Foundation is doing.
Being directly benefitted by the readings I can fully appreciate the importance of this work. I feel sure that someday, and maybe not too far off, the information compiled from the readings will be recognized the world over.
As Ever, [2157]
P.S. I would appreciate an acknowledgement of this check.
[GD’s note: $50 to E.C.F., 1/9/51.
HL, will you personally send him Thank You note?]
R7. 1/3/52 Mr. [2157]‘s ltr. to HLC:
… Ave.
Dear Hugh Lynn,
We received your nice Xmas card in fact two of them. Thank you very much. We sincerely hope that you and yours had a fine and joyous holiday season.
I am enclosing the check due to the foundation on the first of this month. I am very pleased with myself, in a small way, for being able to aid in the fine work you and the rest are doing in preserving the information obtained thru your father. I often think of your dad and all of you. Occasionally I find myself repeating “the readings said so & so!” I am sure, that one of these days the readings and their teachings will be universally recognized as the truths they are.
I would appreciate it [if] I could find out about the required membership fee for my associate membership.
I expect mother has been taking care of it for quite some time, at least I’ve never paid any. I still receive the bulletins, but I’ve moved, so I wish to make a change of address.
We have bought ourselves a new home and are very pleased with it.
Well I guess this is about all for now. Give everyone our regards.
As ever, [2157]

R8. Report by parents in 1953: “He was floundering at 19 - not knowing what to make his life work. Background of seafaring men in the family - did not care to follow the sea (but EC did not consciously know that). As a result of the reading he took up aviation and was very successful from the start - flew all through the war - was a flight engineer on a B-24. Went into aviation after the war and has made splendid headway in one of the larger companies in the midwest. [GD’s note: Later we heard that he had married, had two children, and had bought a home.]
R9. 1/29/53 Mr. [2157]‘s ltr. to HLC:
Dear Hugh Lynn,
First, I wish to express my sorrow upon hearing about the passing of Tom Sugrue, I know he was a personal friend of yours, besides an active member, and a great author.
I am enclosing the third 50 dollars, due on the first of Jan. 1953. I’m sorry I’m late but I have been busy with the usual, first of the year bills.
No doubt you know of these.
I sincerely hope the Foundation is doing alright, and will soon be recognized as the great achievement it really is.
As Ever, [2157]
R10. 11/5/56 Mr. [2157]‘s ltr. to HLC:
Dear Hugh Lynn
Received, this date your letter requesting payment of dues for the coming year and so.
I expect that I must owe at least 5 years dues, so I am enclosing 25 dollars for the past 5 years and 6 for the next one, total 31 dollars [11/9/56 GD.].
However, if you like, you can do it this way, take 6 for this year and 25 for my active membership next year.
There after I will maintain an active membership at 25 per year. I hope this meets with your approval.
I sincerely hope that the Asso. will prosper in the future, and am glad it is back where it was originally organized.
Thank you for your past patience, and be sure to notify me of my expiring membership in the future, I guess I’m the kind of fellow that requires pushing before he does what he is supposed to.
Lots of Luck, [2157]
R11. See Source File Key #2157 for newspaper articles on archaeological finds of Viking settlements; Encyclopedia Britannica article about Leif Ericsson and map on Viking explorers and their routes to North America re 2157-1; also see 984-1, Par. R7.
R12. Comments by GDT:
This case should be studied in conjunction with the cases of the other members of his family, in order to thoroughly analyze the meaning of the Norwegian-American references.
Could this entity have been Leif Ericsson? Eric the Red? Ericsson the Great? Still another son of Eric the Red (not Leif)? Or could he have been just a Norwegian sailor who came to America in the early 16th century and who just happened to be named “Eric” - a common Norwegian name - and was not necessarily otherwise related to these other famous people? [See 2157-1, Par. 39-A and 40-A.]
Following is a list of case numbers of other members of [2157]‘s family: [462] Father, [404] Mother, [1450] Brother, [984] Brother and [1431] Sister.
R13. See mother’s Life Rdg. 404-1 on 5/14/31 saying she was the mother of Ericsson the Great in the Norse land, and that he [Eric the Red - [2157]] is again her son in this life and will lead many through her guidance, etc. See later rdgs. for rest of family: See father’s Life Rdg. 462-1 on 7/29/29 for Norse incarnation; see 984-1, a Life Rdg. giving his association as one of Leif Ericsson’s crew; also 1431-1, a Life Rdg. as Eric the Red’s betrothed and 1450-1 on 10/6/37, a Life Rdg. on his incarnation as one of Eric the Red’s companions on his voyages to North America.
R14. 6/24/69 He died suddenly with a heart attack.
