GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, there is rather the complication of disturbances. These in a manner have been rather of an insidious nature.
-
Hence the results of applications of speculative conditions have not proven to be as helpful as anticipated.
-
We find that these conditions will require a long and an oft changed application, for the greater helpful forces.
-
But if there will be the PERSISTENCY in same, and the changes made every eight to ten weeks, we may bring back to the body the abilities for activities in such a way as to be a helpful influence, so that there may be the ability to carry on for self in this material experience.
-
The basis of the disturbance, as we find, arose from a malarial disturbance as combined with a germicidal affectation to the organs through the genital system.
-
Hence we have those conditions that are manifested in the lack of the ability for assimilation, and the conditions in the extremities which cause the disorder, as well as disturbance to the organs of the sensory system.
-
As we find first, then, in the beginning, - it is necessary that there be given through the assimilating system those properties that would build UP the body, - through the applying of those influences which would destroy the activities that cause the crystallization in portions of the body, a torpid or spotted condition in the liver, the conditions in the joints that cause disturbance, and as to the lymph circulation.
-
Then, - under the direction of a physician only, - give injections of the Bee Venom, as an aid and as a stimulation for the lymph circulation. As to how often, - this will be under the direction of the physician. In the beginning it will be broken doses, and then a little bit heavier to give that reaction to the general system, see? This produces a character of inflammation, you see (It is Sharp & Dohme venom), and a resistance that needs to be had by the assimilating of those properties in the diet which we will indicate.
-
In the diet, - give small quantities of beef juice often; at least a tablespoonful each day, but not more than that, and this taken in several doses, - that is, take a teaspoonful at the time only, and take about ten minutes to sip this amount, letting it mix thoroughly with the saliva of the mouth. Even half a teaspoonful at the time would be better, and this taken often during the day. Use only the lean beef, no fats whatever in same, and use only the juice.
-
Also each day we would taken an ounce of Carrot Juice, - the juice extracted from fresh, raw carrots, by the use of a juicer. Do not take this whole quantity at once, to be sure, but sip it - take fifteen to twenty minutes to take this amount; or it may be sipped in smaller quantities but often through the day. Or, this quantity might be taken in small doses, sipped, throughout the morning of each day.
-
Each day also - throughout the afternoon, for instance, - we would sip an ounce of Beet Juice. This would be the juice from cooked beets and the beet tops cooked with same, in their own juices, - not cooked in water, but as in Patapar Paper. Preferably use the young, tender beets, so that the tops are tender. If it is preferable to take the full amount at once, take at least fifteen to twenty minutes to sip same, so that the activities of the system may be aided through the effects of the Venom on the system.
-
As to other foods, - we would have fruit juices, of course.
-
Also we would have vegetable juices with corn bread put in same, and the like.
-
Use buttermilk rather than tea or coffee. Corn bread in this would also be well.
-
Fruits may be taken in their season, but these should not include bananas; though pears may be taken if so desired. Only cooked apples in the present, - no raw apples.
-
Of course, these things listed are not to make up the whole of the diet, but these are to be the main portion of same; for the beef juices and the carrot juice and beet juice are for special effects upon the system, while the buttermilk and
cooked vegetables with the corn bread mashed in same are to from the basis of the weighty portion in the diet, see?
-
Meats, to be sure, and other things of that nature, would be tabu.
-
Drink plenty of water, of course.
-
Keep the body bathed off often, and after the bath of morning or evening massage with Peanut Oil, - especially over the hips and along the spine, and over the abdomen.
-
A little later we will change to other applications that will affect or effect the better eliminations.
-
But have occasionally the high enemas to keep the colon cleansed, as changed are wrought by these changes in the diet.
-
These we would do for the next eight weeks. THEN we will give further instructions.
-
Ready for questions.
-
Do this, then, for the next eight weeks.
-
We are through for the present.

Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Sir:
Received results of reading to day and in compliance with your request am sending history of my illness.
About four months ago I began to lose weight and strength was easily tired out and had very short breath and lost within this period about 28 pounds. On going to my doctor he suggested that I have my teeth pulled as they were in bad condition and were causing my run down condition. I had fifteen teeth pulled and got so weak the dentist advised against pulling anymore until I had gained more strength. Then I was examined by Dr. Gaither [Gant Gaither, M.D.] of Hopkinsville, Ky. who X-Rayed my lungs and found that I had Tuberculosis in both lungs, and showed me the pictures taken which showed my right lung affected entirely and left lung had two spots. Dr. Gaither told me to get all the rest I could and take sun baths and spend most of my time in bed, and said it would take me a year to overcome the effects. I am now taking medicine as prescribed by Dr. Gaither a creosote preparation.
Will start on treatment as advised by your reading, and will continue to do so until I have given it a thorough trial and desired results obtained. I am

R3. 5/6/40 EC’s ltr. to [2183]:
Dear Mr. [2183]:
Thank you for your report of the 2nd - of course haven’t any question as to what the Dr. found but feel from the information you have a bit deeper situation than just the T.B. or an unusual type of same so would suggest that you give the suggestion a good try out and then be sure that we check up on the condition as is suggested in your reading - and feel sure that you can get rid of the trouble entirely. So be sure and let me know how you come along.
Thanking you and sincerely hoping to be of a real service
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce

Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Sir:
A few weeks ago you gave me a reading, and suggested as part of the treatment - Bee Venom - I have been taking the rest of the treatment and am improving fast, but I have not been able to find a doctor who will give me the injections of Bee Venom. As they claim it is a dangerous remedy and could not give it unless their diagnosis of my case found if necessary, and that they would be laying themselves liable if they used it and harmful results were caused by the treatment.
If you have anything to suggest, or any other remedy that might take the place of the Bee Venom, shall greatly appreciate your advising as soon as possible,
Yours truly, [2183]
