This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at Phillips Hotel, Room 115, Dayton, Ohio, this 8th day of February, 1924, in accordance with request made by self - [2194].

1. EC: Now, we find the conditions as exist in the body at the present time that may be corrected date beyond those of the present disturbing forces in the physical, and were produced by conditions that arose in the system from overtaxation and poor elimination breaking cellular forces in functioning organs, and the condition as presents itself at present is an after effect of this condition.

2. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body, [2194] we are speaking of. First:

IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, at the present time, we find this fairly good for the existing conditions, though not a co-ordinating or equalized circulation throughout the system, and the constituents of the blood supply are good save those elements as carried or created in the system to be eliminated through channels that have become engorged in part to take care of the condition. In the nerve system, centers where the circulation has become involved so overtaxed that the relaxing of nerve center has produced the reaction and relaxing of muscular forces, until the control of system is without the control of the body from the standpoint of the voluntary muscular reaction. This condition we find was originally produced by toxins or acids as absorbed in system carried through circulation in an improper manner, and settled about centers that brought or produced, or detected the condition as existing, and in times back. In the sacral plexus, brachial plexus, cervical plexus, first, second and third, do we find the centers involved.

4. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF ORGANS THEMSELVES PROPER, we find brain forces very good. Above the normal in many ways. In others, the action or use of same, with the attributes of the mental and spiritual, with the physical, has not always been manifested properly.

5. In the functioning of organs direct of sensory system, this becomes involved with the condition in the cervical and upper dorsal region. The rest of the organs function to the condition, and with the cerebro-spinal and sympathetic system taxing and being taxed, yet forced functioning of the organs near to their proper status; however, not in a normal way for the body.

6. RELIEF, to bring then the normal forces, and to remove these conditions, we would massage well every third day, unless the condition becomes overtaxed by too deep manipulation. Then rest and begin again. The whole spinal column, from the sacral region to the base of brain, and across the abdomen at the diaphragm line. Massage into the body those properties as found in Balsam of Sulphur. Other days than when this is given, give the vibrations of the violet ray over the whole system, to the extremities, around and across each central ligament and the locomotaries. That is, under portion of arms and across the brachial plexus, across the siatic [sciatic] and down each limb, so we will produce the equalization of blood forces as assisted.

7. Let the diet be of those of green vegetable matter. Keep the intestinal tract open so elimination is carried through functioning of these organs. Keep meats and sweets from the body. Rather those of the green vegetables as much as possible. Drink plenty of water. Keep the system thoroughly cleansed.

8. Do that, and we will find within eight to ten weeks we will have the reaction, and the body will begin to develop to its normal forces.

Dear Sir-

I am writing you in regard to Mrs. [2194], …, Chicago, Ill. and who has been ill for some time.

It seems that a booklet written by you came into her hands, she is therefore anxious to hear something in regard to her chances of permanent cure.

The inclosed note is written by her to me, and as you will note it is hard to read, due not to mental trouble, she does get despondent at times but as her family does not believe in your work, she has asked me to ask you to mail her letters to me. She does believe you can tell her something and I must confess, that I know it is possible as I have seen similar demonstrations here.

Whatever your bill is, she will take care of.

Dear Dr. Howland:-

I am in receipt of yours of the 8th, regarding Mrs. [2194]. I would certainly be very glad to try and be of some service to Mrs. [2194]. On February 8, 1924, I gave a reading for Mrs. [2194] perhaps you have seen a copy of this. If not, I would be glad for you to ask her concerning same, to know whether the suggestions that were given at that time were carried out or not. If she hasn’t it, I shall be glad to send you a copy. Then perhaps it will assist you in knowing just the character of the work that we do - possibly might be of help to you in following out the suggestions that may be made in the next reading. We have never heard from Mrs. [2194] as to whether she attempted in any way to carry this out or not, but we would certainly like to be of some service. If possible.

We thanks you very much for your letter, and for your kindly feeling toward the phenomena of this character. I shall be very glad to answer any questions you may wish to ask concerning the work, or the experience that the profession in general has had concerning same.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Your letter received, and in reply will say that I did not know that you had given Mrs. [2194] a reading, but when asked if she had the report, she said she did not as it had been lost.

Mrs. [2194] further stated that your suggestions had not been carried out and I am now asking you to mail me a copy of them in order to see if we can’t get her on her feet. She has to have some one to make her do things, as she is inclined to take the road of least resistance.

I wish to thank you very much for your kind letter and the little booklet sent me, and I shall be very grateful for any further information on the subject, as well as experience the medical profession has had, which I am sure are interesting as well as beneficial.

Dear Dr. Howland:-

In response to yours of the 25th, I am mailing you the copy of the reading as was gotten for Mrs. [2194]. You will see, however, that it has been more than two years since this was given, and possibly conditions have changed very materially. I would like to know, however, just how you find that this would check with the history of the condition.

As for other data, we haven’t anything published just yet. However, there is at the present time a physician [Thos. B. House, M.D.] at my home who is studying the work very closely. He has had considerable experience with it in the last ten or twelve years, and he is following each of the readings that we have each day very closely, and also the reports that are given. You know that it’s very rare that we ever see any of the people the readings are given for, practically all being long distance work, though we have a great many reports from the medical profession, also from people in every phase of endeavor for the cure of human ills. That seems to be one of the most peculiar phases of the work, is that it covers practically every field, at various times, and apparently selects that necessary for the better physical condition of the individual. I certainly appreciate your interest, and should be very glad to have you to investigate the thing thoroughly, in any way that you see fit, or to furnish you any information that you might desire, that is possible for us to give.
