This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 20th day of September, 1927, in accordance with request made by Mr. [5540].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Now, we find that there are those conditions with the physical forces of the body that manifest, as it were, in an unseemingly way and manner, even for those conditions from which this disturbance is caused - for, as seen, there has been taken in the system that which has acted as a poison to the stomach, and hence the disturbance of the organs in an unconquerable manner at times, and the reactions to hypogastric and pneumongastrics are such as to cause these contractions, or these spasmodic conditions as reoccur from the forces of this contraction. We also find that many of the functioning organs are involved in the condition.

3. To meet the needs of the forces, then, as are necessary at the present time, will be to first cleanse the system of these conditions. Though, as seen, this has been done in part, yet the effects of this have not been removed from the system, and unless the effects and that which produces same are removed, we will find there will be retractions from same, until this may turn (save by the age of the child) into that which would be a constitutional condition, or a condition that will REMAIN as an element of the physical body.

4. We would give first just as much of olive oil as the body will well assimilate, see? This should be taken in small doses, until at least two to three tablespoonsful have been taken. When this has worked through the system (which will occur in thirty-six to forty-eight hours), then begin with common table salt (dry), in the mouth, just taking a little pinch at the time until NAUSEA is created in the system, see? until the child will vomit even from the amount given, but do not give it in large quantities - just small quantities, see? dry salt, until nausea begins. See? Then give an emit, or wash the stomach out, see? and then we will begin to build on those properties that will re-supply, as it were, those conditions for the digestive system to coordinate and work properly in the system.

5. Giving then, following this, small doses of Chalk and Magnesia. Then again with those properties of Yellow Saffron and of elm water. These may be given close together, see? Then react in the system with those properties as would be found in that of the Petrolager - the non-acid kind, see?

6. These conditions then corrected, as it were, through manipulation, we will make the adjustments necessary to bring the normal forces for the body. Do that. Manipulations will require at least thirteen to eighteen (13 to 18) treatments, after these properties have been eliminated from the system and the system has been set in shape, as it were, for assimilation to take place nominally. The necessary correction through the manipulation is to form the perfect coordination, and that perfect assimilating centers may be equalized to the rest of the system.

7. We are through for the present.

B1. 9/9/27 Letter from [2258]‘s friend, [5540]: ”…I would like to make application for a friend of mine, who has a daughter about nine years old who has been very sick for over a month with some ailment that the doctors admit frankly they are unable to diagnose. She is able to be up but a few minutes at a time, but becomes completely exhausted easily, and while apparently there seems to be no need to hasten reply by telegraph, yet they are of course anxious about her and as prompt action as possible would of course be appreciated…”
