GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2321]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, while apparently there are relapses, there is not indicated as much spread of diseased tissue as might be expected under the circumstance.
-
The retardment is more from cold, and from the congestion produced, than from the activity of bacilli.
-
The body, and those about the body, should not become too easily alarmed or express or manifest any doubts as to the beneficial results that may be obtained.
-
We would clean out and renew the keg with Brandy.
-
Continue with the Calcios and Acigest. While these do not need to be increased, they do need to be taken a little more regularly.
-
Every evening, when preparing for retiring, we would massage the spine with an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil. Do not rub so hard when making the application as to make the skin sore, but rub in sufficiently - just with the tips of the fingers - to cause a real glow. Extend this from the 5th cervical to at least the 9th and 10th dorsal, along the spine, more particularly, but of course over the rib area also.
-
If there is the inclination to raise phlegm, or to cough without raising phlegm, at such times put in a pint of water - boiling; fixed with a cornucopia (as in croup cup or the like), so that the fumes may be inhaled - a teaspoonful each of Oil of Eucalyptus and Compound Tincture of Benzoin. Do not have these fumes so much, or so strong, as to produce strangling - of course; but inhaled through the nostrils and through the mouth will be most beneficial. Keep the pint of water boiling in the room at such times, you see, with these ingredients in same - and arranged so that the fumes may be inhaled during that period.
-
Be mindful as to having plenty of sunshine, plenty of open air - and yet not in drafts or the like.
-
And as we find, we will continue to have improvements. Continue all the things previously suggested.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What chance is there for recovery? (A) Eighty percent!
-
We are through with this Reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 4/1/41 Mother-in-law, Mrs. [2415]‘s letter: “The past two weeks have been so very full that I just haven’t been able to get a letter off to you. [2321] passed on at 5 o’clock Sunday morning, March 23rd. It all happened so quickly after your last Reading came that we didn’t have time to carry out all of your suggestions. We used the inhalants and of course he was taking the Calcios and Acigest (by the way we have a full bottle - will it be beneficial for any of the rest of the family). You know he did have a cold and that developed into pneumonia, we knew he could not throw that off. He did not find the very first of his illness until it was too late. We want you to know you were instrumental in giving him his last six months of life, which were the happiest days of his life, as his home life had been very unhappy from childhood and the past six months he had every wish, even to a big dog, which he had always wanted. I have never heard of anyone who had as many friends as they have. Of course this is the first break in our immediate family. I’m sorry you didn’t get to meet him. [2688] says be sure when you do come out, to get in touch with her. She will keep her home if possible. [2688] sends her love and best wishes. You will hear from her later.”
