This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 12th day of September, 1927, in accordance with request made by his aunt, Miss [778].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions; also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body and those conditions as surround same here.

3. Now we find, while there are adverse conditions surrounding the physical forces of this body, and there is through the physical condition existent, as well as those apparently karmic conditions that seem adverse to the proper development of the physical and mental body; yet, were these developed along that line wherein there is shown the material understanding of the relations between the atomic physical body and the development of the will and mental body, the physical and the spiritual and the mental of this body might be brought to the better physical conditions in this present experience.

4. The body then, as is seen, offers that peculiar interest as may be found in the study of mental and psychological and psychiatrist [psychiatric?] conditions as may exist in a physical being - for, while in many respects the body presents many conditions that apparently do not develop normally - from the material standpoint - this, if studied aright, will be found to be from the purely ultraistic (?) condition existent in the atomic force of the central nervous system, and this reaction as is created in same is that which has been, as it were, bewildering at times to those who would study from the purely physical or material basis of bringing relief to the body.

5. The astrological aspect as is presented by those who would study the physical and the mental development of this body from this source - we find there are combative conditions wherein apparently there are such conflicts brought about that these would appear as insufficient to meet the needs physically, or mental development, yet - were the conditions met by giving (physical) to the body that peculiar vibration necessary to create a normal equilibrium in this distribution from the central nervous system to the radiation of the whole supplying forces through the heart and the whole action of the digestion and assimilating system, we would find a different reaction. Then, BUILDING with this through suggestion to the body at the time that such treatments are given, we will find these will bring about quite a different condition in the physical force of the body, and DEPENDENT upon the consistency and persistency in the operators concerning same as to the physical effect as will be brought about in the physical and mental development of this body, [233].

6. Applying, then, these vibrations to the body, in this manner: Prepare as this:

7. To one and a half (1 1/2) gallon of rain water, add:

Plain Charcoal…1/2 pound, Copper Sulphate…1 1/2 pounds, Sulfuric Acid C.P…1 ounce, Common Zinc…6 drams.

8. The solution should be in a crock or glass container at least a third again the size of the quantity - that is, at least a two (2) gallon container, with a wooden top - holes in the top on either side large enough for metal bars half by a quarter (1/2 x 1/4) inch or half by half (1/2 x 1/2) to be inserted into the solution. One a copper bar. The other a nickel bar. The bars protruding half to three-quarters (1/2 to 3/4) of an inch above the wooden cover. To the ends of these bars attach insulated copper and nickel wires, respectively to their poles. To the ends of the wire not attached to poles attach anodes or very thin plates, see? That may be attached and held in place on the body. The copper anode attach to the body first, at the ankle or wrist. The nickel anode or plate (somewhat larger than that attached to the wrist or ankle) would be attached to the umbilicus. This Wet Cell Appliance] should be attached as the body is put to rest of evening, and allowed to remain for this charge to the system for at least one hour.

9. DURING this period - while this is attached, and the body lying prone, and as it goes into slumber, or as it is spoken to, to rest, or bring rest - give those mental suggestions to the body as will bring the physical and spiritual and mental well being to the body, declaring to the inmost forces and sources of this body, [233] - although the child, the baby - two years old, see? This should be the message to the inmost being: That the physical and spiritual and mental will build through those divine sources, that the physical may manifest those spiritual and mental attributes of the creative forces in the universe. This, as we see, should be the message, in the words of the mother or of the reader that may give this to the body.

10. Be persistent and consistent, keeping those forces for the physical development - in nourishment and such; much in the way as has been given. Supplying that necessary action in the atomic forces through these vibrations as will be set up, and that necessary spiritual and mental development as will be brought through those suggestions given while this operates in the body. Do that.

11. We are through with this reading.

B1. 8/31/27 [233]‘s Aunt [778]‘s letter to EC: ”…I also enclose ten dollars extra for a reading for my nephew, baby son of my sister. This child was born March 24, 1925 at Berkeley, California. Up to date he has not walked at all and the doctors say that he will not. He is a beautiful child in every way but there seems to be some weakness in the legs. Aside from that, he suffers frequently from throat and lung trouble.

“I have made out his astrological chart and judging from that, I would say, there is little or no hope that his life will be spared. His aspects for health are so bad that it looks as though life were to be granted him only as a matter of months, or perhaps a few years, but no longer.

“However, I have every faith that you will be able to suggest the proper treatment, diet, doctor, etc., as well as that you will diagnose just what the trouble is. Both his parents are healthy and cannot understand what the matter is with the little chap. His mother will follow out faithfully any suggestion you may make in your reading.

“At present he is living in the country, at Lafayette, California. Please send the appointment that you will give him, to me here in Long Island City, and I will see that he and his mother are in their home in Lafayette, California, on the date and at the time you specify.

“And, please, give the appointment as soon as possible for this is a matter of life and death and from astrological indications, death might occur any time now…”
