This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of July, 1929, in accordance with request made by her mother, via Mrs. [459].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2355]. Now, we find conditions are abnormal with this body. These are of specific natures, as well as result of the conditions as operate under stress through the system. The GREATER distress from abnormalcy produced by incoordination, as WELL as the effects of the conditions being changed by the manner in which assimilation assumes in the vibratory system. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [2355] we are speaking of.

2. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this shows the effect of those conditions produced by abnormalcy in the manner of distribution of forces as are created by assimilation in the system. This due, in part, to those physical conditions as exist in the ganglia of the nerve system from which impulses radiate to the activity of the glands as are brought into activity through the action of digestion and assimilation in the system. Radiating, then, as we find, from the 9th to the 11th dorsal center in the plexus as governs the glands of the system through the activity of the juices from the digestive functioning system on the body. These, in part, affect the phlenic [phrenic] nerve system - this radiating from the 5th - but only reflexly. This as we see, affects both the pancrean and the gall bladder in the effect of the juices as are necessary for assimilation have upon the particles as are broken up in the vibratory rate given same. Hence the condition as exists in the plasm of the blood itself from same. With the pressure as created there at the time of birth, in the 4th LUMBAR, we have, with that of the pineal gland, the reaction to that of the glands in the system as to the relation of coordinating forces with the plasm of the nerve itself, so that voluntary action often becomes involuntary, especially when there is the cycle of action in the plasm cells that create impressions through the activity of the forces to the brain centers themselves, when there comes that force of the re-vibration through the pineal gland in the base of brain and its reaction in the larger cord itself in those of the lower organs themselves. Operating, then, directly with the adrenal, the endren [Adrenal?, endocrine?], the thyroid, and those of the pancrean effect in that of the lower portion of digestive operation. So that we have this combination, or this condition wherein the system fails to coordinate in brain reaction in the digestive functioning. These may be assisted, as we find, to a near normalcy; yet this will require attention, persistency, consistency, and a great deal of patience and care.

3. To meet the needs, first we would prepare that of the vibratory formation in that of a wet cell battery, as has been given; with this charged, see? charged so that the discharge of same is at least equal to two and one-half ohms. On the one anode we would connect those of the Chloride of Gold one grain to one ounce. The attachment would be the positive - that is, the first connection, to the base of the brain. The negative, or the larger anode or plate, to the umbilicus. This should be given, beginning with only twenty minutes vibration once each day, gradually increase every five days five minutes until one hour is being given. The poles of these, in this battery, should be both of the copper, as well as the anodes of same. After two cycles, of fifty-six days, then we would change these for a different condition will have been set up in the system. No medicinal properties, or no other applications to the body during this period. Only that as would make or cause the near normal functioning of the elimination through the alimentary canal. Giving the foods, or the diet should be during this period, only of the vegetable diet, with that of the juices of beef. This may be given as medicine, or teaspoonful given every three hours to keep the strength; and keeping the body quiet, though in the air as much as possible through this period.

4. Then we would give further instructions for corrections for this body, [2355]. Do that. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) How should this battery be made? (A) The regular wet cell battery. No charcoal in this. Just the regular wet cell battery, but charged. The discharge will be seen to reach that of the ohms necessary by charging same for sixty minutes with sixty cycles, a hundred and ten volts.

6. (Q) How can this body best be approached by her mother? (A) Best through that of love and attention, in that there is seen the necessary cooperation of the physical body itself to coordinate. This will engender that necessary, or that positive feeling that should exist. Do that. See that these are done, and that the body has the opportunity to manifest itself through this experience. We are through for the present.

R1. 7/19/29 EC’s letter to [2355]‘s mother:

My dear Mrs. […]

For some unknown reason we were not able to get the reading for your daughter the first time we tried it. This occurs occasionally, and we have not as yet been able to determine just why.

As you will see, the information was gotten this morning. I hope you are going to arrange so that your daughter can take the treatment here, for this particular appliance may only be had in our hospital, so far as we know. It is one of the appliances that has been developed by the work itself; consequently, it is necessary that we keep it under the supervision of the physicians and individuals in charge of the work. Of course, this is not always the thing suggested. Sometimes people are able to carry out the treatments in their homes, but in this particular case I think it would be best for you to arrange for her to be here. We would be very glad to hear from you about this, and will be glad to do anything we can for the help and assistance of your daughter.

We are sending you the hospital booklet, also the list of the rates at the hospital.

B1. 6/15/29 Mrs. [459]‘s letter: “Just had a talk with Mrs. […] [[2355]‘s mother], a very dear friend of mine. She knows of [4159]‘s illness and thinks your reading is wonderful, especially the diet… Let us see what you can get on Mrs. […]‘s daughter…what caused the condition? What can we do for betterment of her condition? Give treatment. Anything that can be added, Mr. Cayce, will be appreciated by her mother - how she should approach her, how to reach her, etc., and whether she is getting right treatment, etc.”

B2. 7/2/29 Mother’s letter: “What is the cause and trend of the disease of [2355]? What is the probable outcome of this disease? In what way can help be administered? Is the present treatment beneficial to the patient? Would a change of environment, as separation of patient and myself, be of any assistance in the cure of the patient?” [GD’s note: The mother filled out the membership application in her own name, giving the address as 106 … etc., although the address given for [2355] when sending the questions 6/15/29 was 85 … etc.]

B3. 7/10/29 P.M. Reading was attempted for [2355] at “85 …” etc. EC repeated the address several times and finally said, “We don’t find the body. We are through.”

B4. 7/10/29 Mother’s letter: “Received telegram. Could not understand why my daughter’s address was not clear to you. She is with me at the same address, 106 … etc. Am anxious to hear results.”
