This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of January, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [236].

1. EC: Yes. Now, we find there are some changes for the better in this body. While we have had some conditions that have arisen since we had this here before, that are out of the ordinary for the body, yet the general physical forces show the improvement in the conditions, especially those that we have given, that which would bring about the correction for, in this physical force of the body.

2. Now, when these properties as have been given [in 236-1] in the entirety have been completed, we would rest from same five (5) days. Then have this prepared and begin and take another full quantity - beginning, however, AT ONCE, with the use of the Violet Ray. With the body lying prone (on face), just before retiring, follow out the whole cerebro-spinal nervous system, beginning at the base of the brain, going slowly to the full length of the spine, retracing slowly in the same manner and way, using the bulb - the larger bulb. After this has been gone over four, five, to six times, slowly, each center, then follow out the line of the brachial plexus, along arms, see? Then down to the solar plexus, and this rather heavy. Then from that of the sciatic nerves, or the lower plexus - locomotary plexus, down each limb, see? under side, or with the body lying prone - just this portion.

3. We find this, kept up each evening for at least thirty (30) days, will show the difference in the blood and in the nerve reaction, ridding the system of nerve headaches, assisting in digestion and assimilation, and stimulating all of the circulatory system to a near normal property.

4. After the five days rest from the medicinal properties, begin and take the full quantity again. We will see, then, that the conditions will have begun to disappear where they show in the cuticle, for this will have given sufficient time for the blotches or spots to have had their full cycle of development, and the repairing within the system, from the centers from which emanate the rebuilding forces in the body, will have builded better all these conditions. Follow these out, systematically, consistently, and persistently, if we would rid the system of the condition. Do that. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) What causes the pain in the back of the neck, between the shoulders? (A) The incoordination of the brachial plexus centers. Hence this condition as has been given here - to be treated with these conditions, see? nerve disturbance and circulatory system.

Best that this be given, of course, in the home, when the body is ready for retiring, see? Hence obtain the violet ray hand or high frequency] machine and use self, for self, see? or by one in home.

6. That is all the questions.

R1. 1/30/27 She wrote: “Just a note to let you know I have received your reading, and am going to buy one of the machines and get started right away with the treatments.

“My doctor here was giving me similar treatments before I wrote you the first time, not with the violet ray but the sunlight machine, so I am going to try your directions.

“I shall let you know as to the results a little later on.”

R2. 8/28/28 EC’s form letter to Mrs. [236]; at least the same letter was individually typed to all members of the Association:

Feeling that you have been and may still be interested in the work I have been attempting to carry on, I wish to make known the progress that is being made by the Association. The latter, consisting at the present time of something slightly under two hundred members, has initiated not only an educational campaign but has employed Dr. Thos. B. House to work as research director in the scientific investigations that the Association is making. There will shortly be available to members not only a hospital in which psychic diagnoses will be scientifically administered to those seeking relief from ills in the hospital, but there will also be available bound volumes that contain much valuable information and data that has been compiled from an innumerable number of readings taken along philosophical, theological and other scientific lines.

To bring about a closer understanding between the Board and the Members, we submit to you the enclosed address given to the Board at our meeting August 4, 1928, by our President. [See Reports of Reading 4905-70, Par. R45—R46]

B3. 12/22/26 She verified appointment, saying: “I have confidence in your work and believe that, as you say, through persistence I will be cured. It is hard for me to ask questions, for I have no signs particularly of any trouble except that I am rather nervous. That is, I tire very easily, especially under strain or noise of street cars, etc., and then suffer with a pain in the back of my neck and between my shoulders. This is about all the information I am able to give, and I hope this may be of some service.” [GD’s note: EC had asked her to submit questions.]
