This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of November, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - through husband, Mr. [2636], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. (Notes read to and transcribed by Jeanette Fitch.) Harmon Bro.]
Time of Reading 11:25 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern War Time.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2376]; this we have had before.
-
While there are great distresses still through the body, we find that these should gradually be eliminated if good eliminations are kept and sufficient osteopathic corrections are made to relieve those pressures and tensions produced in the body, - not only from this fall but those that have existed.
-
The condition in hand is improved. But do soak the hand in a weak Glyco-Thymoline Solution, - at least three parts Glyco-Thymoline to one part water - as hot as the body can stand it. Let the hand rest in this for fifteen to twenty minutes at a time, adding a little more water occasionally to keep the Solution warm.
-
Take a laxative for a few days that carries some stimuli of activity to the heart, - as Alophen pills. Take one in the afternoon, two at bedtime - at least three to four hours apart. Then the next day flush the system with a saline laxative (such as Sal Hepatica).
-
The osteopathic treatments, when these may be resumed, should be given very gently and not hurried through with. The osteopath should take at least thirty minutes to relax the body, and then - after the greater strain has been removed (that is, the soreness from strain upon the muscular forces), then make corrections. Don’t make corrections through the first six treatments, at least, but gently relax the body; using not merely the hands but the lower limbs as a means for relaxing the muscular tensions through the body forces.
-
Do that.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Has the glass been removed from the hand? (A) What hasn’t! There is a very small sliver yet. It will be removed, with the heat and the Glyco-Thymoline.
-
(Q) What effect did the lockjaw treatment have? (A) Best to just get rid of it! Don’t worry about what’s past - if the things indicated are done. We wouldn’t say as to what others have done or might do.
-
(Q) Are there any after effects from the fall? (A) Haven’t we just given a great deal as to what should be done for the after effects? Meet them!
-
(Q) How can headaches be relieved? (A) By relieving the tensions on the body. A great deal of trouble comes from the alimentary canal. These will be relieved by the thorough cleansing. Later - not in the present - there needs to be a thorough cleansing of the colon, - not by just high enemas but colonic irrigations, scientifically given.
-
(Q) What diet is best? (A) Semi-liquid or semi-solid - not too much of any, but that that is strengthening.
Don’t pamper self too much nor commence feeling sorry for self. Do something about it! Do something for someone else and you won’t feel sorry for yourself.
- We are through for the present.

Dear Mr. Cayce,
I have been trying for some time to write and make an attempt to thank you for my reading, although I know I can never thank you enough. I know you are booked so heavily each day with readings that I disliked having to add another burden to your shoulders. But I was so sick and it was the only thing I could think of. For I KNOW the readings are the right way and that I would get relief through them. I have been doing my best to follow my reading and have taken the first six relaxing treatments. Last Saturday the first corrections were made and I was glad to start them, for I am hoping I will soon get relief from the pains in my back and hips through them.
Again I thank you, Mr. Cayce and also Mrs. Cayce and Gladys.
I hope this finds all of you well and happy and if you will, Mr. Cayce, please tell Gladys of my new address, for all mail from the Association goes to my old address.
Sincerely, [2376]

Dear Mr. Cayce,
I have just heard that you are very sick. Dr. Dick [Marion A. Dick, D.O.] told me this morning as I was getting my treatments. It was a shock. I know that you had gone away for a MUCH needed rest but had know idea that you were so sick. I can’t begin to tell you how sorry I am. Dr. Dick is also much disturbed you see, you have the love of us all. You have helped us all, so many, many times. Now we only hope that God will hear all prayers for you. You have done so much for us in times of need, but there seems so very little we can do now that you are in need. But we will hold to our faith in your speedy recovery.
I am up here where my readings are truly being carried out. I see so many improvements and hope to see many more before I return to … Of course, I have not, as yet, reached the place where I can say I really feel so much better. But taking each individual trouble in to consideration, I know there is quite a difference. I think it is wonderful considering I have only been here a week. I hope to stay three weeks or a month if need be.
Well, I guess I will close for this time and with a prayer that the next news I receive of you will be good news. Give my love to Mrs. Cayce and Gladys.
As Ever, [2376]

Mrs. [2376] c/o Dr. Marion Dick 5041 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, Pa.
Dear [2376]:
Thank you very much for yours of the 16th, and your anxiety regarding my physical health. I am in hopes that I will be feeling a lot better.
I am up and going, but not DOING anything. That is the trouble! But we had Dr. George [Henry George III, D.O.] down yesterday to check up with the information that had been given and what the other doctors had to say, so I am in hopes that between them all, they will either “kill or cure”.
I was not aware that you had gone to Philadelphia, but I am very, very sure that Dr. Dick will be able to carry through in such a way that you will be glad that you went.
I am in hopes that you will continue to feel much better, and I am sure that in two or three weeks you will be a lot better.
If I don’t really improve, I may be there myself! Ask her if she has a place to hang me on a hook, somewhere.
Thanks a lot, and with love and every good wish,
Sincerely, EC EC/gp
R4. 8/28/44 [2376]‘s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
I received your letter a few days ago and sure was glad to hear that you are up and around. Of course, I know it means so much to you to get back to your work, but I think it a well deserved rest. I would have written right away to give you the message Dr. Dick sends you but haven’t for the past week, been feeling so well myself. I think I was beginning to become a problem to Doctor Dick, up to three days ago. She couldn’t understand after trying so many things on me, why I still had the pain in my side. Through the right side just below the ribs. I would pain so I could hardly walk. For I would get it only when walking. As soon as I stopped walking the pain stopped. It began the first week I was here. Then I began to have this aching, burning all through my back that gave me more and more trouble. Well, when I came up here I didn’t know just which reading I had would be the best to give her. So I gave her my first in which I felt my case was clearly stated and also another one which I had more recently that had given quite a lot of information on the trouble along the spine. Well, it finally dawned on me that I felt a lot like the time Dr. Irvin was giving me stimulating treatments and the readings said to take relaxing. So I took that reading to Dr. Dick. She told me I had been getting stimulating treatments. For the past few days I have had the relaxing, and I am feeling much better today, though I still get the pain in my side when walking, but not as bad.
As for the message Dr. Dick sends - she says she will be happy to have you if it becomes necessary. But to please come with a reading because she has faith in them if you don’t and she can find a much better place for you than a hook. I hope and I’m sure she does, that you will get much better without having to come. But if you come up here I hope you don’t get as homesick as I have been although it is such a wonderful place to come to get well. Dr. Dick more than tries to carry out the readings. I guess it makes a great deal of difference when someone has faith. I’m sure that if I could stay long enough I would get completely well. So if you need help I’m sure you’ll find it here.
I think perhaps I’ll be coming home about next monday and will be very happy to get there. I will have been here about four weeks by that time. After all, there’s no place like home. I’ll be seeing you all soon. Take care of yourself and give my love to all.
Sincerely, [2376]
P.S. Have meet quite a few people up here that have come with readings for Dr. Dick’s treatments.
R5. GD’s note: In Oct. 1945 Mrs. [2376] gave birth to a baby son. She has remained actively interested in A.R.E. work to this date, 5/17/63.
Background
Background
B1. 10/22/43 Fell and hurt her hand, cut it badly. Doctor gave her the lock jaw treatment, because the infection ran up arm, etc. This treatment made her break out in dry scales all over - sent her home from the hospital because not room enough there - when we called Mr. Cayce he suggested an osteopath but we couldn’t get one to touch the case - afraid because of the lockjaw treatment. We gave her the Sal Hepatica and put her in soda bath last night, as he suggested, and she is much better this morning.
