-
EC: Yes, while we find conditions are not altogether satisfactory as yet, there is much improvement since last we had same here.
-
As we find, we would not stop the manipulations until there is the removal of all the congestion.
-
But with the manipulations, and to work with the general system as for the respiratory system, we would take at least two or three one-grain Calcidin tablets each day. Especially take one before retiring. Take another before going to work but AFTER the morning meal, about two hours after the morning meal.
-
Also we would find it helpful to use an expectorant made in this manner, which would be most helpful and beneficial to the body:
-
Let 2 ounces of Strained Honey (but Pure Honey) come to a boil; of course, with a very small quantity of water - about a tablespoonful in same, you see. Skim off all the refuse. Then to this add, in the order named:
Syrup of Horehound…1/2 ounce, Pure Apple Brandy…4 ounces, Chloroform…20 drops, Syrup of Rhubarb…1/2 ounce.
-
Shake the solution well, and take about three-quarters to a teaspoonful whenever there is heaviness in the lungs or bronchi, or after a coughing spell.
-
Massage into the lower portion of the lungs, each evening before retiring, an equal combination of Spirits of Turpentine, Spirits of Camphor, and Mutton Suet or Mutton Tallow. Massage this also between the shoulders and lower down; applying HEAT afterward - either a pad or hot salt; or a pad upon the BACK and hot salt across the front would be preferable. Do this for two or three evenings successively, rest a couple of days and then repeat this.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What is causing terrible pain between shoulders? (A) Congestion in the lung area.
-
(Q) Is the violet ray lamp good for me? (A) This we would not use so much, especially if we are to use these others. The violet ray is very good, but in this PARTICULAR condition - until it has broken up more - it tends to irritate.
-
(Q) Why can’t I keep happy, prosperous thoughts, rather than my mind full of distress? (A) In concentrating on those things that have to do with the mental body, this is a growth just as the practice of any activity.
Make more periods of silent meditation, as this; not necessarily these words but the import of same in thine own words:
FATHER, GOD, IN THE CHRIST THOU HAST PROMISED TO HEAR THE PRAYER OF THOSE THAT SEEK TO DO THY BIDDINGS. I CLAIM THAT PROMISE IN JESUS, THE CHRIST. I AM THINE! USE MY MIND, MY BODY, IN SERVICE AS THOU SEEST FIT!
AND IN EVERY CALL, MAY I ANSWER “HERE AM I, LORD, USE ME.”
