As we find, the overtaxing of the system has in the present left sediments - as it were - through the system, - as to cause the excruciating pains at times through the shoulders, back and chest, and especially pressures upon the kidneys, as related to the nerves to the eyes through the vegetative nerve system.

We would take internally the ENO SALTS as a dissolvent and eliminant; taking [also] about once a week a combination of salts that produce greater flow through the alimentary canal. [Sal Hepatica?]

Across the area just below the ribs and the upper lumbar, massage an equal combination of Mutton Tallow (melted), Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor. These with a heavy flannel and the electric pad will reduce that puffing under the eyes.

About the eyes and face use any good astringent; as a flanellette or cotton cloth dipped in Witchhazel, applied to the back of the head, across the side of the face - not directly in the frontal portion, but to those areas from which that portion of the eye receives its impulse through the superficial areas back of the ear, around the lower portion of the ear to the frontal portion of the face, see? Keep this hot, or heat it and apply of evening.
