This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of January, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2434], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by her daughter, Miss [1747].

Time of Reading 3:35 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ohio.

1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them (The body is now at Orange Blossom Camp, St. Petersburg, Fla.):

2. EC: Yes - black and silver.

3. Yes, we have the body here, [2434].

4. We find that there is rather the complication of disturbances, but arising from rather a definite cause.

5. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2434]:

6. The blood supply indicates not only a very poor assimilation of the foods, but toxic conditions throughout the system, and a definite disturbance with the activity of the liver AND the ELIMINATING system.

7. These cause great distress at times through the non-digesting of foods. This arises primarily, as we find, from a torpidity - and some conditions not good - with a lobe of the liver itself.

8. Hence the spots, and those conditions which exist in the superficial circulation, or on parts of the body; as on arms, hand, and limbs, and body.

9. We find that these in themselves also give distress, because of this impairment in the circulation, as well as the activity of those conditions through the system itself.

10. The nerve forces become involved in the condition, of course. For, as pressures are made in the intestinal system, through the accumulations of gas from undigested food, or lack of proper digestion, these produce pressures especially through the lower portion of duodenum and throughout the upper portion of alimentary canal.

11. Through the functioning of the organs themselves - with this form of anemia - there is produced a slowing. Though the body is at times active, it produces a slowing to all of the functionings of the organs, and causes some distress or anxiety through most all of them.

12. But the conditions with the liver itself, and the alimentary canal, cause the greater disturbances, as we find.

13. In making administrations for beneficial conditions, while these may appear complicated, and of quite varied forms, we find that all are necessary for the greater expression of helpful forces for the body.

14. We would being first with taking internally small doses of Atomidine; one minim (drop) in half a glass of water each morning before any meal is attempted, for five days.

15. Then leave off the Atomidine, and begin with the use of Castor Oil Packs; an hour each day for three days. Use at least three thicknesses of flannel, lightly wrung out of the Castor Oil, as hot as the body can stand it, and applied over the liver and the whole of the abdomen, especially upon the right side of same. Keep the Pack warm by using an electric pad.

16. After the third day of using the Packs, take a high enema to relieve the tensions throughout the colon and lower portion of jejunum; using a colon tube for same. Have the water body-temperature, and to each quart of water used (and use as much as three quarts) we would put a level teaspoonful of table salt and half a teaspoonful of baking soda, thoroughly dissolved.

17. From the very beginning, we would take at each meal, or during the meal of just after, six drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin in a little water.

18. After the first three day period of the Castor Oil Packs, followed by the high enema, - we would THEN begin (not before) with the neuropathic or osteopathic adjustments to those areas particularly between the upper and lower dorsals, or particularly from the 6th dorsal - yes, from the 3rd and 4th dorsal - to the 10th and 11th dorsal. These treatments should not be so much adjustment treatments as deep massages upon either side of the cerebrospinal system.

19. After several of these have been taken - that is, at least three - then REPEAT all of the other things suggested, and in the manner indicated.

20. Also, after the colonic irrigation, and after the adjustments or manipulations, or neuropathic or osteopathic treatments are begun, - begin taking once a week half a teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth - this stirred in the water with the Pepsin when it is taken at the mealtime, you see. However, the Bismuth would only be taken once a week, and not begun until after the manipulations are started, while the Pepsin would be taken at each meal throughout the period, you see.

21. The Atomidine would be repeated, but only for the five days, you see.

22. As to diet, - keep those things that are body-building, and strength-giving. Not too much of meats, though the juices of meat may be taken; also fish, fowl, lamb or wild game. Have plenty of fruits.

23. And have plenty of rest.

24. As for the skin condition, this will disappear gradually as the corrections are made. But use on same a good powder, - as the Stearate of Zinc Powder with Balsam (Johnson & Johnson).

25. These as we find will bring bettered conditions for the body.

26. Ready for questions.

R1. 3/6/43 Daughter [1747]‘s letter: “She has a pain in the back of her head. Also her kidneys are not right. The doctors say she has sugar. The osteopath says it is acid. She is feeling very miserable. So I would like to have it as soon as possible. She will be home all next week. Please send the answer as soon as possible, for I am very anxious to relieve her.”

R3. 6/30/52 Daughter [1747]‘s report:

Re. statement “Yes - black and silver” My mother didn’t notice anything that stayed in her mind. There could have been something in the surroundings that was black and silver

• but she doesn’t recall.

Poor assimilations, eliminations and much gas formation. She had brown spots on her body, including moles, and she still has them. Abdomen is quite distended. Her coloring is high, and not one who would be considered anemic from appearance. In following her first reading, she took the Atomidine, Castor Oil Packs, osteopathy, etc. following the reading pretty much as it was outlined. Although she doesn’t like to discuss the readings with me, I do not think it is because she discounts the value of the readings.

Between the time of her 1st and 2nd readings, she went to doctors, but received no results from their instructions. She preferred to do this on her own - so that I do not know what name was given to her condition. She did tell me that the medical doctor of her choice - told her the condition was caused by over abundance of sugar and the osteopath to whom I took her said it was an over acid condition.
