HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
As we find, there are disturbing conditions. These in the greater part have been pronounced properly.
-
As to the sources or causes of these, - we find that these are rather as the disturbing conditions, and why:
-
We find that the circulation is unbalanced in the metabolism and slowed through some portions, so that there are not sufficient inclinations for this to act in a normal manner. For instance, at times there is the engorgement in the heart, and at others the circulation shows through that area especially between liver AND heart.
-
Thus the nature of the conditions arising in the extremities.
-
This as we find may be materially aided. For, these conditions are produced by the lack of the proper eliminations, lack of the balance in the chemical forces of the assimilating system; engorgements, and a tendency for prolapsus in the colon area, which gives the alterations as to circulation and pulsation in portions of the extremities, the fullness to the circulation to the head at times, and heart, AND the needs for rest.
-
There has been an overtaxing of the body mentally, with a lack of the precautions as to the disturbances produced in the liver AND the kidneys.
-
Thus the form or character of circulation through the thrombose area.
-
As we find, those administrations - of rest, of hydrotherapy, of a gentle massage - which at times have been indicated - are very well.
-
We find that if these are adhered to, and if sufficient of the colonic irrigations are given to reduce the pressures, we will reduce the circulation to much nearer normal; that is, the blood pressure will become nearer normal.
-
The colonics we would give sufficiently often to keep down the natural tendencies for accumulations of mucous through the colon, arising from the circulation attempting to adjust itself and the refuses being thrown into the system. At times these may be required more often than at others. Once a week, or once in ten days, or oftener if required to keep down the mucous.
-
The massages and hydrotherapy activities should be rather of a relaxing nature, and to keep the blood circulating in a normal way; also to stimulate the muscles where there is the coordination of the superficial circulation with the cerebrospinal, or centers where there are the closer or greater connections with the cerebrospinal and sympathetic nerve systems; lumbar axis, 9th dorsal, 3rd and 4th dorsal, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th cervical.
-
Very soon, however, we would also use the Radio-Active Appliance; not any form of electrical forces, which would for this body be detrimental, but the Radio-Active Appliance - prepared in such a way that the VIBRATIONS and the electric forces of the BODY are better equalized. Have the Appliance marked so that the same anode to the same connection is attached to the same wrist each time, - to the right wrist and to the left ankle. Here, DO NOT circulate the attachments about the body. For, there is a cross in the circulation, and the attachments should be kept in this manner each time it is used. Keep the plates for attachment very clean. Use for about thirty minutes of morning and thirty minutes of an evening, preferably just before the body is prepared for rest of evening, and from ten-thirty to eleven in the morning.
-
Watch the diet closely. Keep away from any foods that are excessive in their alcoholic-producing reaction, or in alcohol of any nature. Very little or no meats, though juices may be taken. Vegetables and fruits should be the main portion of the diet.
-
With the rest, with the hydrotherapy and massage, and the following of these closely, we find we may bring the bettered conditions; and it will then only be necessary that the body keep precautions as to not overexercising, nor overindulging, and with the watching of the diet the body may become near to the normal activity again.
-
Ready for questions.
-
We are through for the present.

My Dear Mr. Cayce -
This is to acknowledge your reading of Feb. 3rd and your letter of the 5th which was received yesterday.
Mrs. [2090] (formerly […]) made the arrangements for the reading. She was staying here and said you had made a reading for her and she was very pleased inasmuch as the treatment you recommended was followed and her trouble had completely disappeared.
She left this past Monday (2/3) and just before she left I showed her our exchange of telegrams. She insisted that she would pay the membership fee inasmuch as the reading was to be made at her suggestion. She said she planned to send you a check and would include my fee. If this check is not received and the arrangement is not satisfactory please advise me. She also wished me to send her the reading which I have done.
Although I have not digested your reading minutely I gathered the following -
- I had high blood pressure.
- My kidneys & liver were not functioning properly.
- I had been taking some heart stimulants.
I want to give you below my case history -
I will be 42 yrs. of age Feb 12, 1941. I suffered a coronary thrombosis 12/19/39, and was in bed 3 months. The clinical and electrocardiograms verified this diagnosis according to my physician. Before and after this thrombosis my blood pressure was normal 120 to 125 over 70 to 75. I do not drink at all but had been working very hard without practically any relaxation and was doing some strenuous ice skating and was not accustomed to it. The Drs. thought this was the cause of my attack. In fact I suffered this attack while or immediately after skating. All laboratory tests shows my kidneys to be in excellent condition.
To continue - I spent the month of March 1940 in Florida and recuperated nicely. Returned to my home (…, Va.) and was doing very nicely. On Sept. 28 I experienced a great emotional disturbance accompanied by physical exertions and suffered another occlusion. I was in bed for 2 1/2 months & did not leave the house until 12/28/1940 when I took the train for Florida. It seemed I was not regaining my strength as rapidly as I should although I should not have expected so much in such a short time. Therefore I was anxious to know if the previous diagnosis were correct and what should be done to further my recovery. Within the past week or 10 days I have made rapid progress, am much stronger and have greater tolerance.
My blood pressure, weight & mode of living I believe are perfect. I am and have been taking a light massage 3 times weekly, taking sufficient sun and seem to be in excellent physical & mental condition except for the weakness of my heart. I am glad to say it seems to be much stronger.
I trust the preceding will help you in building up case histories. In view of this information do you think your reading & recommendations are applicable?
I am very much interested in your research and would be glad to cooperate in any manner.
May I hear from you
Sincerely yours [2442] Room # …
R2. 2/13/41 EC’s ltr. to [2442]:
Dear Mr. [2442]
Thank you for yours of the 9th - and for your report. Would like if you will for you to fill out the blank and return - that is if you would like to have the data that may be sent you from time to time for a year. Have not however heard from Mrs. [2090] but am sure we will.
As to the suggestions Mr. [2442], from our experience through the years think you would find it well to follow the suggestions made, and believe you will get real help.
That however is up to you - can only tell you the experience of others and the help they have had with followering [following] the suggestions.
Sincerely hope to have been of some help
Sincerely Edgar Cayce

My dear Mr. Cayce -
Thank you for your letter of the 13th.
In the event you do not hear from Mrs. [2090] in due course please let me know and I will pay the membership fee. I sent her the reading and inadvertently the membership blank. They, so far, have not been returned to me. If you need this blank now please forward me another and I will fill it in.
I am glad to report I am feeling much better. I did not inform you before but I have been “eating compatibly” for some time now and sincerely feel it is very helpful.
Also before I left home the last of Dec. 1940 I had one of the best Osteopaths in …, Dr. Robert Thomas [Robert B. Thomas, D.O.], go over my back and he said, and I believe, he put it in good shape.
Very truly yours [2442]
