This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of March, 1941, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. […], a new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by her nephew Ernest P. Phillips, D.C.

In mental hosp. Time of Reading King’s Park, 10:50 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. L.I., N.Y.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [2465].

3. As we find, there are definite physical disturbances that produce the mental aberrations - with this body.

4. There has been a lesion in the lacteal duct and that as coordinating with the organs of the pelvis.

5. Hence at times such a state is produced as to almost become an obsession, but possession in same.

6. The reaction to the pineal becomes so severe as to short circuit the nerve impulse; carrying or producing a fluttering or an engorgement in static waves to the base of the brain.

7. Thus periods are caused when there is lack of self-control.

Show the whole Reading to Dr. Phillips and get him to make the corrections as mentioned in the spine, or else have him outline this work according to the Reading directions - for another chiropractor.

We have had remarkable results in several cases similar to your daughter’s, and would certainly suggest that you follow to the letter the entire treatment as indicated. If everything is not clear to you, please let us know.)

8. We find that this condition may be better attended to not in an institution; while it will require care, close observation, and for a time at least there should be had a close companion with the body.

9. These would be the applications:

10. For an hour each day for three days in succession, apply the hot Castor Oil Packs over the lacteal duct and the caecum area.

11. Each evening, following the Pack - which would be kept hot by using the electric pad over same, we would sponge off the area (using a little soda water), and then massage the body thoroughly with Pure Peanut Oil. Massage all that the body will absorb, thoroughly and deeply over the area on the right side, from the area just below the liver to the caecum; not so deeply or severely as to cause injury, of course, but massage very carefully in a kneading movement. Use the fingertips; massaging also the abdomen and the whole of the spine.

12. Then, following the massage, make an adjustment (chiropractic or osteopathic) in the lumbar axis; coordinating the coccyx with the adjustments made in the lumbar and sacral axis.

13. On the evening of the third Pack, - that is, at the end of the three-day series, you see, - take internally two tablespoonsful of Olive Oil.

14. Such a series of treatments would be given out of every two weeks, see? at least that often. Of course, the adjustments would be made after EACH Oil Pack is given; hence every two weeks there would be four such adjustments, see?

15. Also we would give vibratorially the Chloride of Gold, which would be used on a Dry Cell Battery. Make a connection so that the smaller plate of copper would be attached to the 12th dorsal center, and the larger nickel plate (through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially - in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold to each ounce of Distilled Water, and we would have at least four ounces) would be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus - or three inches to the right from the navel center, and two fingers above where this comes towards the right directly, see? using a lead connection in the Gold Solution, see? Take the connection out of the Solution when not attached to the body. Attach this for thirty minutes each evening, just when the body is ready to retire. Change the Gold Solution every fifteen days.

16. Do these, - and as we find the environ of the home will be much more satisfactory; for the body as well as for the mother; but do have the companion in the first few weeks anyway.

18. (Q) May she be brought to normal in mind and body? (A) As we find, near to normal; and entirely so if PERSISTENCY is kept up.

If you know of someone who does mechanical or electrical work who might do this for you, we suggest that you get him to do it. We used to have a Company in Norfolk who made up peculiar appliances as suggested in the Readings, but it is no longer active. If you do NOT know anyone who could do this for you, please write immediately to Mr. Cayce’s younger son - and get him to prepare it for you in his spare time. He is an electrical engineer connected with the Virginia Electric & Power Co. here: Mr. Edgar Evans Cayce, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va. He would make it for you for the actual cost of materials, which - counting the Gold Solution, etc. - would probably be between $5 and

R1. 11/17/41 Mother’s letter to EC: “You gave a rdg. on my daughter last March advising to bring her home but was unable until last week. Her conditions are about as you said. I would like to give her the treatment you advise. Would you please have the electric solution made up for me? Let me know the cost and I will send check to you. God has been good to me to have her home and I don’t feel He will not fail me now. My prayers will be answered. Hoping to hear from you soon.”

(3) Every case I have treated has responded, some results being nothing short of miraculous and a source of consternation to local physicians. (4) At times I believe Cayce’s work to be supernormal, but at others I believe that many could develop the same abilities which are probably latent in all.
