This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of August, 1929, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [2467].
[Edgar Cayce; L. B. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Miss Mildred Davis.]
Time of Reading 4:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Pa.
-
LBC: Body and enquiring mind, and those associations and relations as respecting the business. You will answer the questions which we will ask you regarding these associations, also regarding the life reading given for this body.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body and the enquiring mind, [2467], and those associations and business relations as respecting this body. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) May I have something more tangible to recall the occurrence between September 20th, 1925 and January 22, 1926, referred to in my life reading? (A) Use his mind - if he has any!
-
(Q) What suggestions for furthering sales? (A) WE haven’t anything to sell! We have the body and those relationships would be different. As for selling - we might sell anything! HE can sell most anything! What does he wish to sell?
-
(Q) Where may costs or expenses be reduced? (A) Be reduced on what? These are very poorly put together. The intent and purpose may be correct, but the tangibility of that being sought - no WONDER he can’t remember the 25th of November! Has he tried very hard? We are through with this reading.

R1. 8/31/29 EC’s letter to [2467]:
Mr. [2467] …, N.Y.
Dear Mr. [2467]:
I am sure you will be very much disappointed at the information that was gotten in your reading yesterday afternoon. I suppose you will feel we should have changed the questions in such a way as to have them answered better, but not knowing just how to change them, or what was referred to - as you see, the readings do not take ANYTHING for granted, even though oftentimes, as you have seen, even a reference gives the full information that is understandable, as concerning conditions. We will arrange this again for you. You may change the questions so they would be of more direct, more concrete - then I think we would be able to get something helpful and worth while. I’m certainly very sorry of this, but it is something I can’t control at all, as you know.
Hoping you will bear with us, and that we may be of service - with kindest personal regards to you both, I am
Sincerely, [EC:GD]
R2. 9/5/29 Wife [1381]‘s letter:
Was keenly disappointed in Mr. [2467]‘s reading - but feel that the information will be given him next time. Should have discussed it more with you - but you were always so busy
- and when you were relaxing one hated to bring your mind back to business. I was under the impression that the introduction would be given in such a manner as [2467] of … & Co., … St., N.Y. City - body now at St. James Hotel, Philadelphia - otherwise the first question should have been
- something like this - what advice or suggestions can you give for the improvement of present conditions existing in body’s firm - … & Co., etc. Mr. [2467] being Vice President - figure the forces would immediately connect same
- & get the information. Cannot understand their question “What does he want to sell?” When he was in a room full of leather goods - but evidently they were not ready to give any information - have written Mr. [2467] - suggesting that he make his appointment for October 25th or later - when he will be in his place of business at the time of the reading - and feel that the forces will then connect the questions with the business in question. Of course, Mr. Cayce, we could not expect the questions to be changed by you - or anyone there - as you do not know about the business or the information Mr. [2467] desired.
One of Mr. [2467]‘s VERY BITTER competitors - passed to the other side some few years ago - I am wondering if that could have anything to do with the matter - trust not.
You will hear from Mr. [2467] in the very near future.
Trusting to see you all soon, and with kindest regards to all, I am
Sincerely, [1381]
R3. 1/15/30 [2467]‘s letter to EC:
Brooklyn, N.Y.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Am enclosing herewith appointment card for Friday’s reading and list of questions.
Trust that these questions are more to the point and that we shall have more success than last time. Really believe that the fact that I am in the office in New York and right on the ground of my business will be a big help.
Have been having some disagreeable weather, but the weather man promises clear and cold for to-morrow and we hope he is right as that will be a great deal more healthy.
Sorry I missed you on your recent visits to New York and trust the next time you are here you will have an opportunity to drop in and say hello anyway.
With best wishes to yourself and family, I am
Yours very truly, [2467]
