This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of March, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Rev. [2482].
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. T. B. Brown.]
Born May 29, 1881, Dundee, Scotland. Time of Reading 3:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Texas.
-
GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the Universal Forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life. Also the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving the time, the place, and the name, and that in that life which built or retarded the development for the entity, giving the abilities of the present entity and to that which it may attain, and how.
-
EC: Yes, we have the entity, with those relations with Universe and Universal Forces as are latent and exhibited in the present personality, [2482].
-
In taking the position in the present earth’s plane, we find the entity comes under those influences of Uranus, Neptune, with Venus and with Mercury, and Jupiter, with Saturn and Mars in an adverse influence.
-
Then, we have one whose latent personality and those conditions as exhibited in the present entity, without respect to will, are:
-
One whose greater influences in the present earth’s plane is derived from those influences of the occult and mystic forces as are manifested and exhibited in the present earth’s plane, often with the influence as is seen in that of Jupiter and Venus, oft with those contrary influences in Mars and Saturn.
-
One then who is physically fit, mentally well developed, morally above reproach in many ways and manners.
-
In the exhibited forces, we find one with a love for nature.
-
One with those influences towards others that tend to that of the mystic and spiritual development, yet often misunderstood.
-
One that may give, with those correct influences in the life of self, much good to others through those channels with which the body labors, both mentally and physically.
-
One that loves the water. One that is, then, and excellent swimmer.
-
One that gives much in worldly goods, in physical self, in mental aptitude, towards the helping, assisting, developing of others.
-
One that loves the mystic and the occult. One that gives much through same to others.
-
One that, as given, would the rule be made in the keeping in its entirety to that force of the spiritual, with the mental and physical development alone, would bring much more good to those who contact the entity.
-
One that loves the wit and the wisdom of the sages.
-
One that, with the greater scope of understanding, would be able to give much greater forces to many.
-
One that will have much of this world’s goods from the great outdoors.
-
One that will, in the latter days of the present sojourn, depart much from that as was thought and acted in the younger age of the present existence.
-
As to the appearances, and those desires or inner feelings as are expressed or felt from same:
-
In the one before this we find in the days when there were divisions in the natal land. The entity then in that of the assistant to Canterbury, and in the name of Chantchus, and the entity then under the strict rule and law of the peoples and teachings of that day. The entity both developed and retarded in the latter days, for the urge as is seen in the present is that of charity to all in their religious or spiritual beliefs, and this should be further manifested and developed in the entity in the present earth’s plane.
-
In the one before this we find in those days when the Master walked in Galilee. The entity then among those healed, in that of the leper at the gate. Then in the name of Mahaieol, and the entity gained much in that period, for with the cleansing there came the desire to manifest that as was found in that period. This, as we see, as manifested and felt; the abilities of expressing well all knowledge as is physically known, and the ability to draw well on the inner thoughts of self, in a spiritual and in a physical manner, that is exemplified in a physical way.
-
In the one before this we find in that period when the peoples in the North country (now as Greece) were then developing toward that of the setting of rule in the South and Eastern countries. The entity then in that of the soldier who led many of the forces in those eastern and southern expeditions, and in the name Ipsis. The entity then gained and lost, for self-indulgencies, through the gain of power physically, brought destructive forces to the entity; yet the physical and the mental forces in the entity, in the love of the BEAUTIFUL in physical form, are held and manifested in the present entity.
-
In the one before this we find in the Mongoloid region, when the first peoples began to spread toward the West. The entity then in the name Chuicho, and the entity then gained much, for the desires of the entity were toward the helping of the fellow man. The urge in the present is seen in that of the desire to bring to others the knowledge of spiritual forces innate in each individual, through that emanation of self.
-
As to that which the entity may attain, and how:
-
Through the study of those forces in which the entity was HEALED (physical), made clean (moral), in the second rule or appearance before this, the entity would gain the better understanding of self, through those lessons taught by that Teacher, and these made manifest in the PHYSICAL life as may be shed in this material world.
-
Then, study to show unto self that answer from within, that beareth witness with the spirit of that force manifest in the world through His name.
-
We are through for the present.

My dear Mr. [2482]
I am sure that you feel I have forgotten all about the letter I wrote you sometime ago, but yesterday was the first opportunity I have had to get at this, so I’m enclosing you, herewith, the information as was gotten at the time, and I’m quite anxious to know just what you make of it. I shall be very glad to hear from you the first opportunity you have, for you to write me concerning same. Also, I’d like to know what progress you think I am making.
With kindest personal regards to you and yours,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD

Dear Mr. Cayce,
Just a line to two in acknowledge of your reading of some time ago. To say I am pleased with it is placing it very mildly - in fact it seems hardly possible that you can give such accurate details without having a personal knowledge of the persons inner life.
I have shown it to several and you can expect a client or two from this section of the world.
A few days ago I had occasion to visit Cleburne and while there I heard a few echo’s of the Sam Davis Company [see [3777] series]. It seems that the bankers that held the notes are endeavoring to get some of the stock-holders to come across and are planning to bring suit. As I see it the bankers are in a heck of a fix.
You are going to do well in your work - in fact you will get more than you can handle - but the financial end of it will cause you considerable amount of grief - THIS DONATION IDEA HAS HAD A FINE TRYOUT WITH ME AND IT HAS PROVED A FAILURE. THE PUBLIC WILL WORK YOU TO DEATH AND YOU WILL GET LITTLE FOR IT IN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT.
Psychic work in my line is getting too much for me and it will soon be necessary for me to run away from it for a few weeks. I am getting all I can do and I am still as busy as when you were here in …
Mrs. […] joins me in best wishes to you and yours.
Sincerely [2482]

Rev. [2482]: …, Texas
Dear Mr. [2482]:
Certainly glad to have yours of a few days ago, and truly glad to know that you were pleased with the information as was gotten. I do not understand these any better than I do the physical, if as well, but I have been told by a great many that they are very interesting and worth while. In fact, I don’t believe there has been more than one, if that many, but what hasn’t said it was one of the most helpful pieces of information that had come into their lives, and we have given nearly a hundred.
I am sorry to hear that there is a possibility of one mix-up with the stockholders of the Sam Davis, for I was under the impression that this had been formally disposed of at the time Mr. Long returned from active service with the Home National, and these were the people that held most of the papers; however, I know it is possible for this to be reopened at any time that the stockholders could get the commission to take hold of same.
Many thanks for your note regarding the work. I am in hopes, however, that there will at least be sufficient of this world’s goods to take care of the physical man and his obligations. I feel that it should attract at least that much from the results that so many tell us they are obtaining. Don’t you see it that way?
While you are resting you had better visit the east coast. We have one of the finest beaches on the Atlantic Seaboard, second I think to none, including Atlantic City and Miami, and I am sure you would find it restful and helpful, for there are quite a number of people studying along our lines and I am sure we will contact many of them at this season. This would make you a fine trip and we would certainly be glad to see you.
Let me hear from you whenever you have the opportunity. I am always glad to hear from you. I expect to see our friend Kahn the latter part of this week. What do you see for him? With kindest personal regards to you and Mrs. […]
I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD

My dear Mr. [2482]
I was certainly very glad to have your note of August 21st.
I guess you are back from your vacation by now, and I certainly am in hopes that you are feeling fine and ready now for another full year’s work.
We certainly hope to not only have you numbered among the members of our Association, but listed among the lectures that we will have from time to time at the institution - for we are building lecture hall and library in connection with the institution, and we hope to be able to supply to the needs of the mental and spiritual man as well as the physical, and I am sure one of your experience along these lines will be able to give much to the membership of our Association. We hope, too, that we may have you as a contributor to the magazine we hope to have in circulation sometime in the near future. We are progressing slowly with the building itself, but are getting things in shape for the actual erection of same and hope to have it running early in the Spring.
Let us hear from you whenever you find the opportunity. With kindest personal regards to yourself and Mrs. […] I am

Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce;
It is a long jump from the Spring of 1918 to the Fall of 1943. The nice article in the Sept. issue of Coronet brings back memories of some of your work done at the Fort Worth Spiritualist Church…or do you recall…Dave Kahn…and several others who were so interested in your work?
Mrs. […] and I have been tempted upon several occasions while in the East to drop in on you… I have spent several seasons at the various Spiritualist Camps…Lily Dale, N.Y… Ephrata Penna…Freeville, N.Y… I spoke in Carniege Hall in Oct. 1941…was on “We the People program” in Nov. the same year. All engagements this year were cancelled on account of the gas rationing…the O.P.A. has “ideas” concerning gallivanting around the country filling speaking engagements…they think that they can get enough speakers from the local cities…maybe they are right.
The Sept. issue of Coronet also has an article concerning the C.N.A.C…(China National Aviation Corpn.)…my son […] is … for this company…we are very proud of him.
If you ever find a moment to spare…drop us a line…we would enjoy hearing from you…
Mrs. […] joins me in kindest wishes to you and Mrs. Cayce for success and Happiness…
Sincerely [2482]

Dear Rev. [2482]
I was indeed glad to have yours of the 20th.
It certainly is a long jump from the spring of 1918 to the fall of 1943, yet you seem to be coming along nicely. Just as we have gone through our troubles, but are still in the land of the living and just beginning to enjoy national recognition. I talked with Dave Kahn this morning. He lives in New York, with all of his family. While he is in the furniture business, the last few years the principles part of his work is with the Government - Special contracts. He is doing fine.
If you haven’t read it, be sure to get a copy of THERE IS A RIVER. We are sending you notice of same. Maybe you and Mrs. […] would like a copy of the special edition. This is only a couple of dollars more, but is autographed, with special paper printing, with a message from the subject at least, if not from the author.
Dave was indeed glad to know that you had gotten in touch with me. You doubtless will be hearing from his [him] sometime soon.
Thanking you, and with every good wish, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC/vw
