Time of Reading 9:00 P. M. …, Ohio.

  1. (Q) GC: Is the static eliminator attached to receiving set in correct place? (A) EC: It should be attached so that this will be in a vertical position, that the adjustments may have the directing effect upon the vibration as amplified in the machine as this is received and the vibration is shown through eliminator it must (the vibrations in eliminator) come in such position as to be eliminated properly, attached properly.

  2. (Q) In the static eliminator, if glass discs be placed between each mica disc, would not static be better eliminated? (A) Provided discs are entirely circular, and each connection in figure should be connected with a circle coil. That is, as the figure eight is in position and with adjustments they are drawn together or pushed apart by each adjustment, as set at present. Eliminates static in and to a certain degree when set in properly. These coils, they would be the adjusting for high or low, or the change as produces the vibration called static.

  3. (Q) Why does not the attached static eliminator work? (A) Work when adjusted properly and set in correct position in present form.

  4. (Q) Is eliminator prepared according to readings given before? (A) Very good, as we have given. The change, as we have given, with disc and with coil, would only change the magnifying of the static variation as shown in receiving set, and the position would make or show the change. This may be effected by preparing the platform or position in present machine for receiving or installation of same in proper form.

  5. (Q) Is there any special kind of Mica which could be procured that would not split readily? (A) That as is used very good. There is a compound that takes the place of Mica, which acts in the same form or manner, or that produced by the compound of Nitre, Guncotton and Camphor.
