This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of June, 1941, in accordance with request made by the son - Mr. [751], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., via Mr. [257].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2512].

3. As we find, there is somewhat of a complication of disturbances.

4. These arise primarily from toxic influences, and cause a great deal of disturbance at times; producing in the blood stream those influences that cause some disturbance to the heart’s activity.

5. This as we find, however, is more reflex than organic. This arises from the toxic conditions and lack of the proper activity of the gall duct, and from the liver disturbance.

6. The eliminations becoming choked, there are those conditions as of mucous through the colon. To be sure, these cause pressures, - not altogether of a neuritic nature nor altogether rheumatic, but at times a combination of these.

7. For, this produces an unbalanced condition in the lower hepatics, as well as in the upper.

8. Hence the tiredness, the shortness of breath that occurs at times; the easily tiring of the body, and the general debilitations.

9. In making for helpful influences, and that as would eliminate the causes:

10. We would first begin with the Castor Oil Packs over the liver and the abdominal area, especially through the right side of the body; extending to the groin. Use at least three thicknesses of flannel saturated and wrung out of the warm Castor Oil, applying direct to the skin and then covering with oilcloth or the like to prevent too easily soiling of bedclothing. Then keep this hot with an electric pad, for about an hour. Make these applications for an hour each day for three days.

11. Then on the evening of the third day, take internally two tablespoonsful of Olive Oil.

12. The next day after taking the Olive Oil, have a general hydrotherapy treatment; including in same a high colonic irrigation.

13. Wait then for ten days.

14. Then repeat the Castor Oil Packs for three days, followed by the Olive Oil internally.

15. Then have another colonic irrigation, followed by the general hydrotherapy and massage that goes with same.

16. We would repeat this whole procedure every ten days, until there is no indication of mucous in the stool when the colonic irrigation is given.

17. The hydrotherapy treatment, as we find, may be done more thoroughly at Reilly’s; for the full massage is to be given, as well as the cabinet sweats to remove the toxic forces.

18. In the matter of the diet:

19. Add more of the foods that carry Vitamin B-1. These principally, of course, at this season of the year, are found rather in the fresh foods - or the fresh foods are preferable to the free vitamins taken in tablet or concentrated form. Such foods would include, then, all those that are naturally yellow in color; and fowl and fish as the meats - these preferably not fried, but boiled, broiled or the like.

20. Doing these, - though it may be necessary to repeat the whole procedure once or twice - even after the second series, - we may bring the bettered conditions for this body.

R1. 6/11/41 Son [751]‘s letter: “Dear Mr. Cayce: Supplementing my letter to you of yesterday’s date, I want to give you a complete picture of my Mother’s case with some questions to be asked in the check-reading for next Tuesday, June 17th.

“My Mother is very sick and if you can arrange to give this reading before next Tuesday, I want to assure you that same will be very greatly appreciated as it may mean a difference in her life. She was operated on last October for a fistula in her rectum which upon examination proved malignant. At the time of the operation, they removed the muscle in the rectum which controls same. She came home from the hospital in November and has practically been bedridden since then.

“She developed a little pus pocket in the right groin and same had to be opened so that it could drain. This small opening has developed to the stage where it is now about 3” long and about 1 1/2” deep. It constantly drains and is very painful and annoying. She has lost a lot of weight and we try to keep her at ease by injections of morphine. However, the pain is considerable.

“I have been giving her a lot of B-1 tablets because it has been difficult for her to take much food. We used to give her an enema every second day but we find that it is very weakening and we have had to make this every third and sometimes every fourth day. All in all, the picture is quite black.

“I am enclosing herein a self-addressed envelope for your convenience and I would be very grateful if you would answer the questions attached hereto as soon as you can and mail your reply to me in this envelope.

“Many thanks for rushing this through all possible!”
