This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 28th day of August, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2514], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Daylight Saving Time. …, Tenn.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, there are improvements. Though these are slight in some directions, there is a great deal of improvement in some others.
-
We would recharge the Appliance and continue the treatments in the same manner as previously indicated.
-
Continue the thorough massage each evening along the whole spine with the equal combination of the Peanut Oil and Olive Oil, and over all areas of the limbs, - though not the boils or sores, see?
-
In fact, we would keep up all the applications as indicated in the first reading.
-
Also we would now add the Castor Oil Packs over the hardened areas in portions of the limb, across the small of the back, the hips; though not over the sores, to be sure. These should necessarily not be so hot as to prove disturbing, but warm - and kept warm. Apply these for at least two hours every other day.
-
Over those areas where the ointment is needed, we find that the Ichthyol Ointment is well. While this tends to irritate, it does cleanse. Hence this we would keep.
-
After such places become cleansed, or start healing, it would be well to use the Cuticura Ointment.
-
Also we find that the places should be kept cleansed with Cuticura Soap.
-
Do that.
-
Ready for questions.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/12/41 Letter report from [2514]‘s mother: ”…I have felt for some time I would write you as to what I thought about my daughter’s condition. I am referring to [2514]. As you know, when we received her first reading she broke up housekeeping and moved back home so I could help with her baby and also help with the treatments. Housekeeping had gotten on her nerves and worried her so as she was unable to be on her feet on account of these terrible sores she has had for a year now. I took all responsibilities from her and in a short time her expression had greatly improved and no one seems to believe that she is sick to look in her face. We have followed your directions with no exceptions whatsoever. I have done everything as was put down in the reading. We have recharged the machine once and are ready to recharge tomorrow.
“Her skin on the back of the legs above her knees was so white but gradually we have noticed how pink her flesh is at places where it was so white. She has one bad sore near the buttocks that is as big as a dollar on one leg and a smaller one on the other about the same place. Then there are some behind her knees. It is a little difficult in wrapping the oil cloths on her legs to go around these sores. I am going to try to get over to talk to Mrs. [760]‘s and find out in detail more how to give the packs for fear we won’t get the best results.
“What makes her legs ache so much? She had had about 18 sores on her left foot - has about 8 or 9 at the present and her feet hurt her so badly she spends all her time in her chair except to get to her meals. Lately she has seemed to be a little more despondent than usual, but has not felt so good this week as her bowels and stomach have been very much upset. The skin has drawn so tight behind her knees she walks on her toes as she can’t straighten out her legs and that makes her tire so in the bed and the sores on her upper legs make it uncomfortable to lie down, so she hasn’t been sleeping so good. We are hoping and praying that all these little things will gradually clear up as time goes on.
“Another thing I want to tell you about her menstruation. All her life she has been very irregular, going five and six weeks, but since her reading every month has been better and this month was exactly 28 days. But during the period sometimes she fluids herself as though she had sat in a pan of water. It seems to pass freely but she says she doesn’t know it and it is just like water - no color. It seems to worry her but I feel that it is weakness for one thing.
“She gets might nervous some days before she gets out of the packs but think it is because she can’t straighten out her knees and her legs cramp on her.
“Is it best to have a certain time of the day to give her the machine? On the days she takes the packs, I put her under the machine early in the A.M. before she gets up. Then some days it is just after dinner or maybe after her massage at night. Would love to know how that sounds to you. And should I give the packs during menstruation and does it hurt to give the packs just after eating?
“Hope you don’t think I’m too ignorant, but am bearing the biggest part of the responsibility and having my heart buried in her so much, I want to do that which is best in every way. Thanking you for your kindness, and may God bless you…”
R2. 10/9/41 [2514]‘s letter to EC: ”…Six weeks ago today you made my check reading. In it you said I had improved. I think now there are signs of more improvements. My hands are so much better, and I have at last, after a year’s time, been able to take the pressure bandages off my feet. That is encouraging if nothing else.
“In my check reading nothing was said when to write for another one…”
R3. 10/17/41 “I’m thrilled to death because I feel so much better. Six months ago I never dreamed I could feel this good again. I’m almost ready to go back to housekeeping! That’s my desire - to be able to make another home for my little family. God has given me so much - the best husband in the world and the finest little boy. So now I want to get well and make them happy.”
- What causes the passing of water 2 or 3 times daily during the menstrual period?
- What is hurting in lower back, just about the waistline?
- Is there anything I can do about the stiffness in my knees, - the skin seemingly tight and drawn, so the knees won’t bend as they should. Will this pass away as time goes on? (I know my hands are lots better, especially my right one.)
- Will white places gradually go away? (At times I believe they are better.)
- Are the oil packs being applied correctly?
- Will it be harmful to my condition to get a permanent wave for my hair?”
