This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of July, 1941, in accordance with request made the by the self - Mr. [2532], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. Harry Harding.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [2532].

3. As we find, there are those unbalanced conditions in the assimilating forces of the body, - that are producing a chemical unbalance. This is a variation from that where the chemical unbalance produces the condition. Here we have the assimilating forces producing the chemical unbalance.

4. These bring a form of anemia, and a lack of those elements in the vitamin forces in their proper combination.

5. Thus there is a reduction in the abilities of the body-forces to build the proper coagulation, or the katabolism of the system becomes involved.

6. Then these cause in the nerves and in the muscular forces a tendency to waste away, about some of the nerve centers. These are lacking then in the stimulation of the system; and as the unbalance has been produced there are the needs for supplying elements to the body which will aid the system to revive itself and take from those properties supplied the necessary influences to bring the reaction to the assimilating and digestive forces of the system.

7. Thus the body may be ridded of the accumulations of poisons that have not been eliminated from or through their regular channels, and eradicate the rash which occurs internally as well as externally on some portions portions of the body.

8. These as we find are the physical forces of this body.

9. In meeting the needs of the conditions in the present:

10. We would begin taking small quantities of Atomidine to purify the glandular system. Take one minim in half a glass of water each morning before breakfast for five days.

11. Leave off three days. Then take again for five days, this time - however - taking two minims each day.

12. Then leave off five days.

13. Prepare then two solutions to be alternated with the Atomidine, in this manner;

14. Add 1 grain Chloride of Gold to 1 ounce of Distilled Water. Keep this as one solution.

15. Add 2 grains Bromide of Soda to 1 ounce of Distilled Water. Keep this as a separate solution.

16. Then, one day take the Atomidine and the next day take 1 minim of the Gold Solution and 2 minims of the Bromide of Soda Solution stirred together in half a glass of water.

17. Alternate these, you see - one day the Atomidine, the next day the Gold and Soda - for at least three more series, - allowing five days between the series of these being taken.

18. THEN begin with corrective measures osteopathically, or those made by a masseur or a chiropractor; by one who would stimulate or relax all of the areas along the cerebrospinal system, especially in the upper dorsal, throughout the cervical area, and MOVEMENTS in the lumbar axis and through the sacral.

19. Have at least twelve to fifteen of such adjustments. We would take these twice each week, but do not begin these until corrections are made CHEMICALLY through the system - which should be accomplished by the taking of the properties in the manner outlined, see?

20. As to the diet throughout the period, - keep closer to those things that supply a greater quantity of Vitamin B or Vitamin B-1; which we would find in whole wheat cereals, whole corn, and in all of those vitamin elements - as in all yellow foods.

21. Use beef juices, but not the beef itself.

22. All vegetables should be cooked in their OWN juices, and the juices also taken.

23. Do these, consistently, persistently.

24. Ready for questions.

25. (Q) Is my present life, course and manner of living the best one for me, or should I try to make changes in surroundings, associates, etc.? (A) This can better be determined by self than by others. Analyze self, as to what is thy ideal, - spiritually, mentally, physically; not what you would like others to do, but what is the ideal life for YOU - with thy beliefs, thy faiths to hold to. Are you according your life to that, consistently? Then you have your answer.

26. (Q) Is my mental and spiritual development in conformity with life plan, or destiny intended for me in this earth life? (A) This, again, is to be answered most in self; or it might be drawn from a comparison of those experiences ye have exerted. Yet, such answers must come from within.

For, the law is that “Thy spirit beareth witness with my Spirit,” saith the Lord, - as to whether ye be the children of God or not; or as to whether ye are conforming to that ideal which is thine - and also His ideal, if ye are at-one with Him.

27. We are through for the present.

Dear Sir and Friend:-

Your Reading, postmarked July 11th, came to hand some time ago and it seems that this Reading and my last letter to you were sent on the same day.

In answer to questions in your Reading will say that my troubles are of long standing and, that if there is a composite medical term for any condition - it is unknown to me. The few Doctors I consulted during my life only looked for outside symptoms and treated such when really serious - as for instance - appendicitis, rheumatism, sciatica, boils, liver troubles, catarrh, deafness and ear troubles, etc. The medical term for head-noises (which I had since early in life) is, I believe, “Tinnitus.” One “Nature-Cure” doctor, said many years ago, that this last “Tinnitus” - most likely originated from taking poisonous mineral drugs contained in some doctor’s prescription, and that once such destructive drugs get lodged in the system it is a very difficult thing to again dislodge and eradicate - but I don’t know. I had a few chiropractic adjustments some years ago (about 20 in all) but noticed no difference in condition. - I wrote a letter to the Atomidine firm, Mt. Vernon, N.Y. at once after receiving your Reading - but up to now had no reply from them. - The services of the medical fraternity cost a lot of money in our times - and the poorer class of people are compelled to help themselves as best they can without any help from such “healers” - rely on God’s help and His constructive healing force, inherent in all nature, and all physical bodies. I enclose herein a copy of a letter written about two years ago, which may give an idea about my life course and condition - physically, mentally and spiritually. I am grateful for the kindness and unselfish service you have given to me - and I thank you.

Dear Sir and Friend:-

Thanks for your kindly letter to the 15th inst.

Can say now that the Atomidine products I sent for two months ago arrived here at last.

Have taken the prescribed drops of it to begin with - and today the first 3 drops of the combined Gold and Sod. Brom. solution - and, as I understand the directions, are to continue this for one month, (30 days) allowing five days between the three series.

Up to now cannot say that I notice any change, one way or another, in my condition, which is one of long standing, gradually, getting worse from year to year - particularly, the catarrhal condition, with increasing deafness and nervous troubles.

An out-of-door life, in the stillness of nature, where one can be and feel oneself really free from the rush and bustle of the throng - whose chief life-aim seems to be the chasing after material possessions and “entertaining pleasures” - seems best to my temperament and life-ideals and physical condition.

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

Thanks for your letter of recent date. As to health conditions must say that it could be better. Nerve troubles and headache make life far from being a joyous experience. But after all, maybe I am fortunate as it is, when the long period of semi-illness in past years is taken into consideration. Great numbers of people depart life at my age and earlier - and the time limit may not be the same for all.

Am still taking the remedies, which your reading prescribed, every other week, as said. The Atomidine I have on hand will last several years - taken at the rate of two drops, three days a week - and every other week.

Will say that I intend to secure a copy of the book: - “Searching for God” - this summer, provided I am permitted to send the dollar to pay for it. Am sure that the book will prove very helpful to sincere seekers after truth.

R4. 5/8/42 [2532]‘s letter to EC:

…, Canada Dear Mr. Cayce:-

Thank you for your kind letter of April 22nd. Will say my condition seems to be about the same as when writing last - April the 10th.

The chronic head and ear trouble, especially the constant roaring head-noise and deafness is, and long has been, my most distressing ailment and physical trouble, growing worse from year to year, as previously described. If this could be remedied all else would be of minor importance.

In regard the “check-up” on my condition, which you suggest, must leave this to your own decision. Under present circumstances feel that I have no right to impose further upon your kindness and unselfish efforts so far given on my behalf, freely and lovingly.

Some times, perhaps often so - outward conditions in worldly circumstances may be due to causes hidden in the Spirit-soul. Even Jesus the Christ could not heal all cases of disorders, because forbidden to do so - knowing the reason why the ailing had to carry their burdens, as their destiny prescribed. - I will surely give my opinion of the book - “A Search for God,” if I can get the opportunity to read it, and am certain I will find it worthwhile, judging from the copies of “Bulletins” read - dealing with such subjects.

Dear Friend:-

Thanks for your letter of the 19th, received yesterday. Perhaps I made myself misunderstood in my last letter to you, and will here state the case more clearly and frankly.

It was not lack of faith in your Readings that made me leave the decision about the mentioned check-up to your judgement, but other considerations, wholly due to conditions beyond my control.

Up to the present have been unable to follow all the prescribed applications given in your first Reading, and thus felt that I had no right or excuse to ask for another. Have taken the medicines recommended regularly, but had the chance only occasionally to use the green stuff and the vegetables prescribed in my diet. Fresh fruits and green vegetables are not common in these parts, and usually only procurable during autumn, for a couple of months. The chiropractic adjustments and massage applications have not yet been tried at all, as these would cost me at least $100.00, all included, such as R.N. fare, hotel bills, etc. All this would have been different, of course, if I had lived near to, or in a city, instead of in a pioneer, frontier district, hundreds of miles from the large population centers. However, will do my best to follow the dietary changes during the late summer months, when this is possible. I thank you for your friendliness and kindly attitude.

Yours of May 26th received and I want to thank you for the friendly attitude - as well as the very generous offer it contains. Am herein returning the Application Blank filled in - also, a list of special questions, as suggested, and must let you decide upon what kind of a reading to give, that will serve me best under the circumstances. As things are it seems to me that I have no right to dictate demands in this matter. The physical state of humans - the life-course, or destiny, and the mental and spiritual statue (stage of soul-growth) may all be connected, possibly.

1- Please analyze and give a diagnosis of present physical conditions, and suggestions as to improvements, if possible.
