This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 20th day of April, 1925, in accordance with request made by [900].

Time of Reading 322 Grafton Ave., 2:30 P. M. Dayton Time. Dayton, Ohio.

1. GC: You will have before you the psychic work as done by Edgar Cayce, especially that phase of same relating to Life Readings. You will answer questions regarding same as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have this here and especially the phase of same regarding the Life Reading, or appearances in the earth’s plane. These, as we see, may be made invaluable to the individual, will they but study and understand aright. For with the study of same, resuscitation and evolving or evolution of the mental developments, with the physical attributes of same, may be understood in the material world. Well that all phases of the individual life in the earth plane be correlated with conditions, yet we would find some would become unstable in such understanding, for the change in circumstances and surroundings would bring discord to some. Well [that] these be studied by many, that the mental development may be magnified in the world.

3. Ready for questions.

4. (Q) In these, the accounts of former appearances in the earth plane are given. Is it in keeping with the Forces to give a life history of such an appearance? (A) In keeping with the Forces, for same may be studied for better development in the present earth’s plane.

5. (Q) Then, will you please give us the suggestions that would be given this body, Edgar Cayce, to obtain such a history? (A) The individual’s name, date of birth in present earth’s plane, with name as given in the Life Reading, with place and time, with the suggestion that as this:

“You will have before you the life existence in the earth plane (giving name, date, where) and the earthly existence of this entity in that of (giving name and place of the earthly sojourn) and you will give a biographical life of the entity in that day and plane of earthly existence, from entrance and how into the earth’s plane and the entity’s departure, giving the development or retarding points in such an existence.”

6. That is all of the questions. [GD’s note: All that had been submitted by [900].]

7. (Continuing) Much may be obtained through such reading, and when same approaches those conditions of the nearer, or from that plane when man as man has recorded data, much will be verified, much will be corrected.

8. We are through for the present.

R1. GD’s note: The following is the suggestion which was given in one of the early readings for waking up Edgar Cayce following a reading of any type. Gertrude Cayce had these pages in her little “Suggestion Book” which she held in her hand when she conducted the readings:

“(When he says, ‘We are through.’)

“Now the body will be so equalized as to overcome all those things that might hinder or prevent from being and giving its best mental, spiritual, and physical self.

“The body-physical will create within the system those properties necessary to cause the eliminations to be so increased as to bring the best normal physical conditions for the body.

“The mental will so give that impression to the system as to build the best moral, mental and physical forces for this body.

“The circulation WILL be so equalized as to remove strain from all centers of the nerve system, as to allow the organs of the system to assimilate and secrete properly those conditions necessary for normal conditions of this body.

“The nerve supplies of the whole body will assume their NORMAL forces; the vitality will be stored IN same, thru the application of the physical being, as well as of the spiritual elements in the physical forces of the body.

“Now, perfectly normal, and perfectly balanced, you will wake up.”
