EC: How much suffering there is! And how happy those should be that have been called to a purposefulness in relieving suffering physically, and most of all in bringing and in giving hope to those who find life’s pathway in the material world beset with shadows and doubts and false hopes.
-
Give ye thanks for THY own calling; for whom He has loved He has predestined - and ye are in thine own light when ye allow the foibles of material things to hinder in thy application of that THOU KNOWEST to do.

R1. 9/28/34 MD’s note: EC was a long time waking after above volunteered message [254-79], snored slightly as in normal sleep. When waking he asked, “What’s the matter?” GC answered, “Nothing - did you have a dream?” He said, “Uh-huh,” then told this dream:
“I kept seeing things. Went into places and saw things. Went into one place that was very beautiful. Somebody took my feet up in her lap. Then I went to another place where there was beautiful music. Then I saw another place where somebody was being buried, and I saw another place - Oh, I don’t know - there were so many - ”
R2. 7/17/61 GD’s note: We interpreted this [volunteered reading 254-79] to be a message of encouragement to the staff, especially to EC and GC who were concerned over finances and inability to keep up monthly payments on their home. Interestingly enough, when Baldwin Brothers had the property re-surveyed with the idea of refinancing it, discovery was made that the house was built half on the lot next door, not even owned by the loan company. This worked out beautifully for the Cayce family, because it took the loan company almost a year to get everything straightened out [to quietly buy the lot on which the other half of the house rested, etc.] and during the interim no payments needed to be made. [See 9/13/34 reading 538-38 which advised that re-financing be sought.]
