This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office temporarily in Room #2135 of the Hotel Victoria, New York City, this 28th day of October, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [2541].

Time of Reading 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [2541], present in this room, and all her family associations and relations. You will answer the questions which she will ask concerning these, and her mental and material affairs.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [2541] - this we have had before. In many ways changes physical, changes in relationships as respecting associations and relations, have come to the body since last we had same here.

3. In the physical functioning the body should take some precautions as respecting those conditions as have brought some distresses to the body, through those of the soft tissue in head and face, and keep those of infectious forces from same, that there may not be greater distresses later on with the muco-membrane portions of the respiratory system, as well as of the lacteals and lacteal glands in their functioning. These, we would find, would be most helpful to the body were these to be used occasionally; not every day, but when the atmospheric pressure, or when cold or congestion, or an unbalancing of the equilibrium of the circulation has disturbed the muco-membranes of the throat, bronchi, or nasal cavities, to use as this: Compound these in the ORDER as these are given:

Canadian Balsam…1/4 ounce, Benzoin…1/4 ounce, Benzosol in solution…1 dram, Tolu in solution…1/2 ounce, Eucalyptol, Oil of…1/4 ounce.

When this is to be used, put about half a teaspoonful of this (shaken well together) in a pint or more of BOILING water, using a cornucopia to carry the FUMES of same in throat, in nasal cavities. These will act as not only an antiseptic but as an aide as an expectorant, and relieve these tensions - and it’ll be well to take care of this. Ready for questions.

4. (Q) Is entity following the right plan to go ahead with work mapped out? State the best method to follow. (A) As has been indicated, there have been some changes in the plans, not only of the body but the relationships as respecting the plans in carrying forward the efforts. As we find, in the present way and manner those plans and those associations as the body has been working out, and that are being brought - as it were - in align with desire to the efforts, these are very well and should bring for the body, in the way these have been outlined, MOST satisfactory results.

5. (Q) Should entity try something else to bring in monetary results? If so, what? (A) As we find, these - with proper efforts - will bring in shortly, at least in the next thirty to sixty days, then LATER more remunerative than has even been expected by the body in carrying out these SAME lines.

6. (Q) Is entity’s daughter [2686] following the right tactics at Castle School? (A) Here changes also are apparent, but as a general line, or as an adherent to those suggestions for the correct development of these, we would say are being followed in a manner that will bring EXCELLENT results for the body.

7. (Q) Is entity’s daughter’s [2908] cough the result and leftover from whooping cough? (A) A membranous effect from those of strangulations in the nerves and muscular forces from the whooping cough. These, we find, would respond to the use of the iodine, or Atomidine, WITH the use OF some general massage, as of more the order of the Swedish massage. These would be well.

8. (Q) Have the Forces any advice for my husband, [4652] (whose entity you have had here), how to make his business more successful? (A) In the associations with the body, [4652] and the efforts in the direction of the business and business associations, while these have - as it were - fallen away under the stress and the conditions as are apparent in all quarters in the present, the attitude of the body, [4652] and his associations and relations, are such that they keep the body-mind, the body-efforts, in an even balance. This, to be sure, does not satisfy in the remunerative way or manner, but the associations and relations are such that, with the general air of buoyance and optimism as will soon begin, while in an easy manner in the beginning, will be seen and felt in his, [4652]‘s efforts - and these, as WE would give, are such that they will be even surprising to the body in the way and manner that things will open in a business way and manner in the next ninety to a hundred and twenty days.

9. (Q) Should [4652]‘s partner, Benjamin […] not recover from his present illness, what should [4652] do to best safeguard his interest? (A) In the manner as has been indicated that there are already in the making those associations and relations that will take care of, with as little unbalancing of the routine as may be expected in and under such circumstances and conditions. This would be taken care of through the new relationships as would be established.

10. (Q) Will entity and family be able to take a trip or cruise next summer to celebrate twentieth anniversary? (A) This, as would be indicated by that as has been given, that remunerative success would come to the body itself, also that there would be changes for the better in the relationships of business with the associate or mate, that the INDICATIONS are in the PRESENT, without some violent changes that are not apparent in the present, would be more than possible, and probable.

11. (Q) Should entity remain on Board of the Shelter? (A) On Board.

12. (Q) The Board of Directors? (A) Remain on Board.

13. (Q) Are there any suggestions to make regarding the running of the Woman’s Town Club? (A) This, as we find, involves many entities’ personalities, in making suggestions for any radical changes, and would be suicidal almost under the existent conditions to AN individual; yet the body’s associations and relations in this direction, while not wholly political in the efforts, may be turned in the channels that have been turned over and over again and again in the mind of the body, to advantage of the running of the Town Club in its relationships to that as may be termed the higher or associate arts, that make for the awakening of the artistic efforts or temperaments in so many an individual, and this direction - were THESE made, or changes made, gently but positively, as we find, would be the most helpful.

14. (Q) What plans shall I make for my daughter [2686] next year? (A) Many of these plans have already been made by the daughter! These, in a manner, while they would be SUPERVISED by self, these - were they followed in much the manner as is being worked OUT in the mind OF the daughter - be very satisfactory.

15. (Q) Shall I send [2908] to Dalton School next year or elsewhere? (A) This, as we find, would be some questions, yet, that will arise, that may or may not change the plans as respecting the sending of this particular association or school. In the WHOLE this is most satisfactory, but let rather not indecision, of course, be in the mind, but let circumstances that surround the entity, [2908] as well as self and self’s relation, make for the decisions as will be made in this direction. See?

Be mindful rather of self in the directions as has been outlined. Have those things prepared in the manner as given. Let’s relieve these distresses as come to the body physical. Then the body mental, the body spiritual, will be more capable of meeting the various calls and demands that are made upon the ABILITIES of the body physical.

Dear Mrs. [2541]

It’s very marvellous to be home again, after such troublesome times - which seemed to us all uncalled for; yet, as we think of it now, we realize that it brought to our physical consciousness the knowledge of friendships that we had hoped for, yet had often doubted in a way. When you and so many others came immediately to our aid, counseling with us, lending your presence that gave us strength to go on, it seemed to show that God’s love and God’s ways are not ALWAYS man’s ways, or lot.

We just want to thank you for the love and consideration given. We have a very poor way of showing it, but know that at any and all times we are ready to do whatever He will allow us to do.

Let us hear from you, won’t you? We have asked recently some questions, as to what this was all about, and for counsel and advice in going ahead with our undertaking. This, I feel sure, will be of interest to you, and we will send you a copy [254-60] in the next few days. We would like very much to have your reaction. There are, no doubt, many questions that arise in your mind. We don’t know that we can give the right answer to them all, but we will be glad to try.
