This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of August, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [2569], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [257].

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading Set bet. 10:30 and 11:30 A. M. Taken 11:25 to 11:35 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y. City.

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions; also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them.

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [2569].

  3. As we find, the disturbing conditions are somewhat latent in their nature. Thus, there would be given much of warnings and those specific reactions to be brought about in the body, for the correction of those conditions which may prove to be rather disturbing if allowed to continue.

  4. These have to do with the assimilation and eliminations in the body, and the affectations to the specific conditions in the sensory forces of the body.

  5. Then, these are disturbances as we find them with this body:

  6. In the blood supply there are indications of a hindrance to the activity of the liver, as related to the spleen and the gall duct forces.

  7. Hence there is an unbalancing in the metabolism, an affectation from the pressures existent which cause somewhat of a complex condition in the organs where the subluxations and the submergings exist - as to the activity of the organs themselves.

  8. These produce a form of congestion, or a catarrhal condition at times in the body, - as in the sensory forces; to the soft tissue of nose, eyes and the throat.

  9. There is a slowing of the circulation through these portions of the body; the sources arising from the conditions existent in the liver and in the pancrean area as related to the gall duct.

  10. As to the effects produced upon the nervous system, - there is very high nervous tension at times. At others the tension comes from the congestion in soft tissue, as in throat and antrum and to the eyes, and to the ears at times.

  11. All of these are minor disturbances at times, and at others give a good deal of distress.

  12. In the functionings of the organs themselves, - save the functional disturbance, these have not as yet become organically affected; but functional to the liver, the kidneys, the heart.

  13. All of these, then, become a part of the physical disturbances in the system.

  14. Then, in meeting the needs of these:

  15. First we would begin with a series of hydrotherapy treatments; at least twice or three times each week for at least three to four weeks - and then have these farther apart; with special reference to a stimulating to the EMPTYING of the gall duct. Include with this a mild sweat, with a Fume Bath combining a teaspoonful of Tincture of Balsam (or Balsam in Essence or Solution) and a teaspoonful of Witchhazel in the pint of water that would be boiled under the body - in the cabinet bath, so that the fumes from these properties would rise over the body. This would be followed with the hot and cold water, then the thorough massage or rubdown with Peanut Oil, preferably; with the alcohol following same, of course. The Sitz Baths especially, too, will be well here; changing the circulation where those tendencies for stiffness are exhibited, to the extremities and through portions of the spinal area, especially in the caecum and sacral.

  16. Be precautious as to the diet. Keep away from carbonated waters, or any form of brewed drinks. Keep a great deal of vegetable and fruit juices in the diet.

  17. These do, and as we find we will bring much bettered conditions for this body.

  18. Ready for questions.

  19. We are through for the present.

Two copies to Self (one for the Physiotherapist who is to give the hydrotherapy treatments. We would refer you to: Dr. H. J. Reilly, The Reilly Service, R.C.A. Bldg., 1260 Sixth Ave., N.Y.C.) Copy to Ass’n file (At your convenience please let us have a history of your case to the time of obtaining the Reading, and the technical name of your trouble according to your physician, so that we may have something with which to compare our information; also that we may index your Reading under the proper subject heading for our files.)
