This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of September, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [2588], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Born May 20, 1898, bet. 1:00 & 6:00 A. M., Lexington, Ky. … Alkali Time of Reading Works, 3:35 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Daylight Savings Time. N.Y.C.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [2588] at the … Alkali Works, …, New York City, especially in regard to advisability or inadvisability of marriage to […], …, Ohio. You will please advise him whether or not it is best for him to marry at all, and if so the suitability of marriage with this individual. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. In considering suggestions as indicated, it is more advisable that each individual fulfil the purposes for which is entered the earthly experience. These include associations and relations with individuals in marital relationships, with MOST individuals. There ARE those for whom it is best that they keep a life of celibacy, owing to their circumstance and their activities.

4. But as we find for this individual, - while there are many conditions to be considered here, - this would prove the more desirable and advisable, if there is the attempt on the part of each to make this a satisfactory union. There IS the ability on the part of each to do this.

5. It is true that there are problems as related to children, as related to the family relationships; yet, when the circumstances are considered, these will be problems that should not be as burdens but as pleasures, as opportunities, as those activities that would make this a most satisfactory union - if there is the attempt of each to make his and her part of the obligation as an opportunity, as an experience worthy of filling a spiritual, a mental, a material need in the experience of each at this time.

7. (Q) Is it indicated that it is best for me to remain single or listen to my family who insist upon my marriage? (A) Listen rather to the dictates of the own conscience, AND wed! For if it is a direction from any influence or source other than thine OWN conscience, it will be a failure.

8. (Q) Would I be happy with […] and she with me? (A) As has been indicated, it can be made so. For there is an affection, there is love. Cultivate both.

9. (Q) Is it indicated as to why she was divorced from her first husband? (A) These are her own problems. Do not carry them into THINE own life.

10. (Q) Is it advisable to marry […] in preference to any other girl I have met? (A) This should be the dictates of the own conscience, rather than from here.

For, there is the free will. As we have indicated, this can be made an experience that is worth while - or this can be made an experience very troublesome.

11. (Q) What have we to work out together? (A) Those same problems as have been an experience of each, the association and the attraction one for the other. As to the problems, these had best be gained from paralleling the experiences of each in the material plane - through the Life Reading for each.

12. (Q) Please describe my character and […], as to our compatibility or incompatibility. (A) Each is known. Do not attempt to take descriptions from that approach from a spiritual angle and interpret same in material planes. But know deep within self as to whether there is the willingness to subjugate self, self’s freedom as has been a part of the activity, to a united effort with another for DEFINITE purposes, aims and activities in the experience.

This is the manner in which such relationships should be approached, and the agreement on the part of each. Obligations, duties, privileges, opportunities - live up to them. Keep GOD in the home!

13. (Q) What arrangements should be made as to […]‘s father and mother, to assure them of financial care in the future, since they seem to depend on her? (A) That is part of thine OWN obligation, but as to the necessities or needs - these are well supplied.

14. (Q) What about provision for her children, a girl 9 and a boy 12? (A) For a part of the time with the grandparents. Eventually with the mother.

15. (Q) Would I have to support them also? (A) These have been supplied for, by that condition in the settlements.

16. (Q) How would I get along with the children and they with me? (A) Depends upon what the ideas and purposes are! These are not problems, but opportunities - if the entity will embrace them. If they are looked upon as an obligation, as a duty, it will remain so. But it should be an opportunity, a privilege - if there is the consideration for the mother as SHOULD be in entering such relationships.

17. (Q) May any income be expected from their father? (A) To a certain age, and under certain conditions as the provisions provide for.

18. (Q) Please advise me as to my future with the … Alkali Works. (A) This may be satisfactory if there is kept that same activity as has been, and in the advancing for those opportunities that are given. And greater responsibilities will be put upon the entity, and greater returns, by the very fact of married life.

19. (Q) How can I improve the product “Super Mafos” that I am selling? (A) This has nothing to do with […]. This had better be asked under a separate suggestion.
