This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 3rd day of May, 1934, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [261], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., through his wife.

Time of Reading 3:45 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. L.I., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [261]; this we have had before.

2. There has been the tendency for neglecting the activity of the hepatic circulation until there is the increase in the quantity of toxic forces such as to create a temperature in the body.

3. As we find, in the immediate, we would use those things to decrease the tendency of the circulation to the upper portion, by tepid sponge baths.

4. Stimulate osteopathically those centers that will reduce these distresses in this direction.

5. Then we will find better conditions for this body.

6. Ready for questions.

7. (Q) How is the blood pressure? (A) Naturally, with the increase of the toxic forces, this is very irregular - and the lack of sufficient quantity in the present.

8. (Q) Is there any obstruction in the intestinal tract? (A) Only the accumulations from toxic forces. And, as we find, these may be better removed by the eliminations through the stimulations as indicated; and by the application of those things that may SOFTEN this area that is distressed - or the packs of castor oil. Apply at least three to four thicknesses of flannel wrung out of castor oil as hot as may be handled with the hands or received by the body; across that portion of the abdomen on the right side and across to the left, you see. We find these will materially aid.

Do that. Reduce the temperature by stimulating to the lower extremities, and stimulating the activity of the organs in the digestive and assimilating system. See, it’s an overtaxation and a lack of proper coordination in circulation, that has reduced the condition to these pressures.

9. (Q) How is the condition now? (A) Rather acute.

R1. 5/20/34 He wrote: “Many thanks for the Ck. Physical Rdg. of 5/3rd. “I had been overdoing and worrying considerably, and was flat on my back at the time of the rdg. I used the treatments suggested, went to the office the next day, and on Sat. and Sun. was able to drive with my wife down to White Sulphur Springs - over 500 miles - finishing with 18 holes of golf Sun. afternoon.

“However, I am still far from 100%, and will try and get in as many osteopathic treatments as I can until I really feel a lot better. The main trouble is that I am trying to do about twice as much as I should. There is a chance that some of the work will let up shortly. That will help as much as anything.”

R2. He requested 566-2 for his little girl.

R3. 5/23/34 GD wrote him: “Are you going to Dr. Frank P. Dobbins, D.O., in N.Y. City for the osteopathic treatments? We have certainly had some wonderful reports from him on cases we have sent to him.”

R4. 5/28/34 He wrote: “No, I have not used Dr. Dobbins, as you have never brought him to my attention. I have continued to go to Dr. Theodore J. Berger, D.O., or - lately - to his mother, Dr. Grace C. Berger, D.O.”

R5. 7/7/34 He requested 628-2 for his other little girl.

R6. 8/8/34 His wife phoned for seasick remedy (106-7), saying Mr. [261] was so tired that he was going to Scotland for a vacation.

B2. 5/3/34 Wife phoned about 3:30 P.M. and talked to Mildred Davis, submitting questions, saying Mr. [261] had come home ill and wanted the advice of the rdg. phoned to him as quickly as possible. EC had just started a Ck. Physical Rdg. for Mr. [440]. M.D. went into the Rdg. Room with Mr. [261]‘s questions, and immediately following the next Ck. Physical for Mr. [527], GC gave the suggestion for Mr. [261].
