[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. [2611] and mother, Mrs. [2751].]
Time of Reading 3:45 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Va.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2611]; this we have had before.
-
AS we find, while conditions are greatly improved, at times there is a great deal yet to be desired.
-
In making the adjustments in the physical forces of the body for a condition that has been of such duration, and is so subtle in its nature, a great many things must be taken into consideration.
-
There are those tendencies, naturally, where a constitutional circulation has been established that tends to produce a reverting to old disturbances.
-
Of course, those conditions in the sensory system have at times much to do with the cause of the headaches, but the more of this arises from the toxic forces that produce pressures in the sympathetic as well as the cerebrospinal nervous system. Thus the organs of the sensory system, as to the sympathetic, the nasal passages, the vocal cords, suffer under these tendencies. And these produce this type of headache.
-
As we find, we would CONTINUE with those adjustments that alleviate or set up drainages through the alimentary canal. With the correction and coordinating of those centers where the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic systems coordinate, especially with the organs of the sensory system, we will relieve these nervous tensions. These, to be sure, are in the upper dorsal, from the 4th up, and through the cervical areas. Make adjustments occasionally in the lumbar and axis.
-
We would have these corrections made by such as Richardson, or the like. Once a week should be sufficient, if thoroughly given - and we would have at least ten or twelve more adjustments.
-
Also, about once every six weeks, we would have a thorough colonic irrigation, - this scientifically given. This will bring bettered conditions through the activities of the body, and will eventually - with the osteopathic corrections - relieve these nervous tensions. Have at least three of such colonic irrigations, professionally given, - such as may be given by any of those who make such, - as Parker or the like.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should the Calcios and Acigest be continued, and in the same manner? (A) These should be continued for the present, at least, or throughout the period of the osteopathic adjustments.
-
(Q) Should the inhalant be continued? (A) This is not so necessary, unless there is a superacidity or the sniffing.
-
(Q) Have the causes of the headaches been reached? (A) No, as indicated, - the toxic conditions AND the tendency for the reverting to pressures in the sympathetic and cerebrospinal system at times cause a reverting to old disturbances. These have been improved, but the causes have not been entirely eliminated.
-
(Q) Has the condition in the pleura been cleared up? (A) That has been cleared more than the rest, but if it were entirely eliminated it would not be necessary for the Acigest and the Calcios. For these are the stimulations needed for purifying this circulation, see?
-
(Q) Any further advice? (A) Do these.
-
We are through with this Reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 5/19/42 His mother, Mrs. [2751], obtained a Life Reading.
R2. 5/6/53 Notation by IMG: “About six months ago I saw [2611] at the A & P store. I asked him how he was getting along, and whether he had received any help through his readings. He told me that he had followed them for a year or more, but it was not until he separated from his wife that the headaches really stopped. It seems that he was told by some doctor (psychiatrist) that his wife was stepping out on him. He told the doctor he was mistaken, and that his wife had nothing to do with his illness. Since the doctor insisted, he began to check up on his wife’s activities, and discovered that she really was running around. He promptly left her, and hasn’t had headaches since…”
R3. 10/1/55 Notation by IMG: “Today I talked with […] [[2611]‘s sister]. We drifted into conversation about the readings, and she told me that [2611] had followed his reading for a while, and had gotten some relief. Later he went to Johns Hopkins and took his readings with him. She said that they diagnosed his condition to be just what the readings had given, and further that they suggested that he follow through with the suggestions in his readings. He had taken Calcios and something else with him that the readings had given and had asked at Johns Hopkins about these things. For a while after being there, she told me, he had improved; but that he had returned home - dropped his treatments - and the condition came back again. This time he had an operation on his sinus - and now, she told me, he is in worse condition than ever…”
R4. 6/3/58 Notation by IMG: “I saw [2611] at Dr. O. M. Wakefield’s office about ten days ago. I asked him what was the matter, and he said that he had bent over to pick up something and his back had a ‘catch’ in it so that he could hardly walk. I asked him why he didn’t let Dr. Wakefield see his reading and he replied that he had given it to Dr. Robert S. Venner [Robert B. Venner, M.D.] some 5 or 10 years ago, but that he would like to get a copy to show Dr. Wakefield.
“I saw him again last Friday, and he asked me again about getting a copy of his first physical reading. I reminded him that he had two readings, but he thought the first physical would be the only one necessary to give Dr. Wakefield…”
