This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of December, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self through mother, Mrs. [1222], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Born December 2, 1925, in Norfolk, Virginia. Time of Reading 3:20 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Virginia.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2632].

3. In giving the interpretation of the records as we find them in the present, these are chosen with the desire and hope that this be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling it to fulfil that purpose for which it entered this present sojourn.

4. Each soul in entering the material experience does so for those purposes of advancement towards that awareness of being fully conscious of the oneness with the Creative Forces.

5. As errors or faults, virtues or vices are magnified or minimized in the earth experiences, so the activities need be in same that there may be brought about that as He gave, “Be ye perfect, even as my Father in heaven is perfect.”

6. Not that there are not urges latent and manifested, but that there is the ability in each soul to accomplish, to fulfil, to give manifestation of creative forces in the relationships one to another.

7. In this entity we find those latent urges from the astrological relationships, as well as from the material sojourns in the earth. While these are latent and manifested, they do not surpass purposes or desires, - if those desires and purposes are made to conform to the IDEALS of the entity.

8. Thus we grow in grace, in knowledge, in understanding.

9. In Mercury we find latent and manifested abilities in the mental activities, the seeking, the searching, the inquisitive individual. Remember also the old saw, “Curiosity killed a cat.” These are the influences, yet they are to be applied in the correct or vital purposes towards spiritual as well as material activities.

10. We find in Venus the love of home, of associations, of activities; the desire for security as well as for social relationships. These are well, spiritualized. These are questions when only materialized.

11. In Jupiter we find the universal consciousness, as well as in the Uranian and the Saturn influence that as may be helpful or retarding, - dependent upon the application of self respecting the chosen field of service.

12. As indicated from Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus, - a career as a part of the experience SHOULD be the purpose of the entity; the career that would become of the social as well as of the marital relationships should be the part of the entity’s experience. These will be seen more directly from the activities just before this, as well as from the purposes indicated from the appearances - and the experiences in the earth.

13. As to the sojourns in the earth, - these have been many. Not all may be given in the present, but those that may be made manifest in the present experience and purposes. And as the entity grows, there may come the developments awakening to further purposes and intents.

14. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, near those activities about the land of the present sojourn - or closer in the Richmond area. There study to be a nurse!

15. In that period when brother fought against brother, the household of the entity itself was divided. This brought turmoils and disturbances, yet the activities in which the entity gained were in the ministering and in the aiding those injured, as well as those in the fray. And these brought purposes, these brought definite urges that may be aroused in the entity’s experience in the present.

16. Thus to become materially prepared, and then spiritually fortified in the purpose, may bring a contentment and a peace, and a worthwhileness in the present, that may bring joy in service to others.

17. The name then was Marie Seay.

18. Before that the entity was in the English land, during those periods when there were the journeyings to the land of the entity’s own nativity.

19. The entity was among those first settlers in the land that is NOW pictured as being not only Puritanic but self-centered; yet the cause, the purpose was from the activities of the group seeking freedom of speech, freedom of service and of worship, in and about what is now Salem, Massachusetts.

20. In the name then Ann Whittaker, the entity then saw material hardships; becoming acquainted with the needs of the land, and having the abilities in the direction of aiding the sick and the weary, and especially children.

21. Thus may it be said in the entity’s present experience, it “has its own way” with the young. This also may be made as a part of the entity’s present experience, to bring about those activities in which greater expression, greater peace, greater harmony may be found in the entity’s experience.

22. While the sojourn in that period was not long in years, many were the advancements, the developments, and the individuals who blessed the entity for the lessons that it gave to others.

23. Before that the entity was in the Roman land, during those periods when there were many individuals in the Promised Land who had been brought under the teachings of the Master, and the disciples and Apostles later.

24. The entity was among those who became a companion of the soldiery that returned to Rome, - beautiful in body and beautiful in purpose, and yet the relationships socially brought a period of deterring in the activities of the entity.

25. Beware, then, of those influences that may lead the entity astray from its purposes, hopes and desires in the present.

26. The name then was Alphaia. In the experience the entity found that the satisfying of material desires does not bring mental and spiritual hope.

27. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods of the Rebellion, when there were those activities in the divisions and in the activities of that known as the Ibex Rebellion - or the King’s brother rebelling and setting up a separate kingdom.

28. The entity was closely related to those activities. Later, when there was the restoring of the activities by the return of the Priest and the peoples from the Atlantean land uniting in the efforts, the entity was among those purified in the Temple of Sacrifice, and brought forth fruits worthy of acceptance in its repentance and activity, - in its ministering in the influences indicated from the Temple of Sacrifice, that would be as the hospital activities in the present.

29. The name then was Secundundue.

30. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain, and how:

31. First, study to show thyself approved unto thy ideal. What is an ideal? This analyze. Know that there are ideals material, there are ideals mental, there are ideals spiritual. And know, they that live the ideals in purposes, in hopes and desires, must be aroused from spiritual imports.

32. That there is a way which seemeth right that leads to death, has been experienced by the entity.

33. There is the way that leads to hope and help and life. That, too, has been the experience of the entity.

34. Choose thou this day whom ye will serve, God or mammon. For, He hath indicated He is aware of thee, in that thou hast the consciousness, the awareness of life itself in all its phases. This indicates His love for thee.

35. The manner of expression in the material plane is, “As ye do it unto the least of thy brethren, ye do it unto thy Maker.”

36. The abilities lie in the field of nursing. This may be combined later with the missionary activities; for many - in thy period of experience in the earth - will be needed. Will YE be ready!

38. (Q) For what purpose did I choose my present parents in this incarnation? (A) For thine own enlightenment, and thy parents’ understanding.

39. (Q) What course should I follow to carry out the purpose I came to fulfil at this time? (A) As has been indicated.

40. (Q) Why do I like to sing and dance? Would it be well to train further in this direction? (A) The experiences from the Roman and the Grecian! These are the ways that would lead to stumbling. Choose the hard way, for it will grow easier as ye climb the steps of service!

41. (Q) Do my tonsils hinder my vocal cords? (A) We haven’t the tonsils nor the vocal cords. We have the spiritual life.

42. (Q) To what musical note do I vibrate best? (A) For good or for bad? For good, that which is as of the heavenly choir. For bad, the “bright lights.”

43. (Q) What should be my hobby? (A) Christ!

44. (Q) Please give my seal and its interpretation. (A) The tree of life, or the tree upon which would be the harp and the heart of life. The interpretation, - the abilities and the weaknesses indicated.

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman NOT ashamed, but keeping the words of truth.

She asked for a copy of her Life Rdg: “My mother wouldn’t ever let me have it. I married and had twin daughters (which I had prayed for since I was six yrs. old). They are now 17 yrs. of age. I was divorced from my husband in 1944. I have been working at the telephone company for many years; my daughters also work there after school and we go home together. They are so beautiful and we are very close. I will write you about my Life Rdg. when I get a copy of it.”
