This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of December, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [264], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading … Road, 11:45 to 12:05 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Body and enquiring mind. You will give the present physical condition of this body and suggestions for further relief and corrective measures. You will also have before you the circumstances surrounding the body’s activities relative to timber lands in which the body is interested. You will answer the questions she has submitted regarding her physical condition, these timber lands and other mental problems.)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [264]; this we have had before.

2. As we find, some conditions-physical show some improvements since last we had same here. Others in the immediate appear as distorted or as acute conditions in the system’s making those changes relative to the affect of disturbances that have been and are causing the disturbances.

3. In the present, as we find, we would continue with the diets that have have been indicated and the vibrations also that may be set up by the use of the influences of the magnetic forces from a body. And we would now add the use of the Wet Cell Appliance, or the galvanic battery appliance as indicated for the vibrations directly through the body. In same we would carry the Nitrate of Silver, with salt pads under the plate FIRST attached - or the small plate. And the small plate would be attached at the 12th dorsal center, while the other - carrying the Silver solution - would be attached last, over the tumorous condition itself direct. These will be the more beneficial.

4. Well, too, that there be the gentle massages given to make for the distribution throughout the system of all those influences that are activative through the ganglia from which each portion of the system receives its impulse.

5. Keep the mental attitude in that of a constructive influence, ever; KNOWING, SEEING, REALIZING that all constructive forces must be of the Creative Energies. These awarenesses MUST come of self! This is often questioned by the entity (as by others), as to HOW, what manner, in what way one may become more and more aware of the constructive or of the God-force being manifest.

6. By the same manner as to how one finds that those influences called love in the earth, as one for another? Does love grow from that which may be seen, or particularly done? Or does it grow from that which is an ANSWER for something within? For, “Thy spirit beareth witness with my Spirit saith the Lord.”

7. Hence in DOING that which is in keeping with what IS the awareness of that association, that realization, the awareness manifests.

8. Not alone by word of mouth but by “my Spirit” saith the Lord.

9. Ready for questions.

10. (Q) What thickness should the salt pad be that is used under the plate? (A) Two folds, or a fold of linen or cotton cloth dipped in a saturated salt (sodium chloride) solution.

11. (Q) How long a period at a time should the Appliance be left on, and should it be used each day? (A) Periods of twenty minutes once a day for two to three weeks. Then leave it off a period of ten days to two weeks. Then commence again.

12. (Q) The magnetic treatment should be continued also? (A) As given.

13. (Q) What should be the percent of the Nitrate of Silver solution: (A) As we have given, a ten percent solution.

14. (Q) What causes me to see whirling lights and to have dizzy spells, and what should be done for it? (A) As indicated, the system is attempting to adjust itself to changes coming about. What to do about it? Apply self in those directions as indicated!

The massage, or the distribution from ganglia along the system, will maintain an equilibrium the better.

15. (Q) What kind of glasses should I get, and would - (A) (Interrupting) Those that will suit the eyes! and that may be applied by anyone that is an expert oculist or optometrist in making such tests and such corrections!

16. (Q) Would Dr. William Thornwall Davis of Washington help me? (A) Depends upon what he does! He can; as can anyone!

17. (Q) Should anything or any other treatment be used for the eyes? (A) None except the general relief from the system. We would have much less trouble with the eyes!

18. (Q) What should be done for my teeth and gums, especially front teeth? (A) The local applications and the diets that have been necessary. These are the better, as we find.

19. (Q) Give specific details of treatment for right foot? (A) Not only for the right foot but for the whole body, have the general massage using each of the ganglia, each of the bursae throughout, for the stimulations throughout the system!

20. (Q) What should be done to keep feet from hurting? (A) Use ‘em, and use the massage at times - in the way and manner as indicated!

21. (Q) Please explain to me what is keeping me from being healed, so that I may understand and overcome it. (A) APPLY self, in the manner that has so oft been indicated. MEET the conditions of each influence in not self, not that thou may do to make for good, but in that thou keepest thyself mentally and physically in such an attitude that the influences of those things that are applied to meet conditions in a material world - and spiritualizing those in their applications - BRING then those conditions!

22. (Q) How may I make “application” as suggested in reading, so as to overcome desire for unnecessary cleanness for my body and surroundings? (A) This is that which must be realized WITHIN self. As to how: How would you tell one to fall in love? How would you tell one to apply or make self in accord with God? This IS! What one does - Well, you either do it or you manifest your OWN SELF! your OWN ego, your OWN desire!

MAKE desire, the ego, the self, the whole, as one with - “Not as I will.” For how spoke He? “Let this cup pass - if it be Thy Will. Not my will but THINE be done in and through me.” Thus spoke LIFE itself, to Life manifest!

23. (Q) When my vitality is low what causes me to lose hold on self and how may I overcome or prevent it? (A) Just the same as has been indicated.

24. (Q) Regarding timber deals in British Columbia, Canada, and in Bladen Co., N.C.: Is it best for me to collect my commission from Mr. Howard White of Raleigh, N.C., on sale of timber from Harrison Lake Timber Co., in British Columbia, Canada, to the British Paper Co.? (A) This has been indicated heretofore; that this condition to be met would be necessary to go through White, see? Not that White is to pay, but White will say or would handle the situation. We don’t find it has changed any, save as in the general conditions there has been a closer activity in the British associations for future activities. These have been held somewhat in abeyance, depending upon or waiting for periods to pass. Now, then, approach through White for the application of claim in those directions.

25. (Q) What amount is due me, and should I ask for that amount, or how much? (A) What amount has been asked for? What was the understanding? Only that that is correct and just, in keeping with that as was given from the first as the AGREEMENT between same!

Am ashamed to say I needed that courage, too… I am hoping [853] can give me the massage. He is giving the magnetic, but we don’t know WHERE to massage for the ganglia. If Gladys can’t tell me, I will write and ask Dr. Brenner…

“Knowing that my mental attitude governs my physical body, you can imagine how I felt when I read my rdg. For weeks I had felt like a hopeless failure, and the rdg. seemed to confirm it. When I saw all of those treatments, I felt that I was having to begin all over again. Over and over again I asked, ‘How long, O God, how long?’.

“About two months ago two members of my family (not sister [678]) decided that I would never get well until I had an operation, and they decided that I should have it, and one would pay for it. Even the hospital and doctor was decided upon. For several weeks I paid no attention to it, and finally I collapsed and was quite ill for days. Anyway, I am not going to have an operation unless the rdgs. advise it. That’s settled.”

R3. 2/4/36 She wrote: “Dr. Ada Wahlen [D.C.] showed me how to have [853] give me those massages, and they have helped SO MUCH. I have gained about five lbs. since I have been having them and worry less than I have in yrs. They just seem to SOOTHE me. I had lost about ten lbs. before I got the rdg. Am sure I will gain it all back and will continue to improve.”

R4. 2/24/36 Husband [853] wrote EC: “I feel that my wife owes her life to the information received through you since she had been given up by the physicians.”
