This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 16th day of February, 1942, in accordance with request made the by the self - Mr. [2685], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2685].

3. As we find, conditions are rather serious with the body.

4. As to whether there may be responses to applications that may be made will depend upon the spiritual attitude of the individual.

5. For, as we find, greater complications are arising from the inability of the body to take any stimulating foods; and the natural resistance is being gradually destroyed.

6. This will make further complications by the inability of there being proper eliminations.

7. The necessity of there having to be taken narcotics destroys the ability of the liver’s activity, AND is working hardships again upon the kidneys.

8. As we find, the conditions are as these:

9. There was the inhaling of particles into the lungs. The attempt of the body to war against this, owing to the conditions existent, formed a lymph tumor. This, however, has a nucleus about those sediments. These will be the greater trouble in dissipating the conditions.

10. We would leave off most of the other applications that are being made in the present, save the necessity that IS required to relieve pain, - and these we would give. But as conditions relax, if the body responds, we would gradually reduce the quantity of the narcotic.

11. Begin first with these:

Saturate four or five thicknesses of canton flannel*, or the like, with Glyco-Thymoline and apply this over the area in the chest, - from the throat down, - and then apply heat to this; though do not have so hot as to cause blistering. Keep this on for periods of at least an hour to an hour and a half at the time, and make the applications two, three to four times a day.

13. When water is given, give one or two drops of Glyco-Thymoline in same.

14. Once a week, in the beginning, take an electric treatment - using the Violet Ray, hand machine but with the hand (or rod) applicator. However, do not take it in the hand but in the feet. Lay the applicator upon glass and set the foot on same. Take this for one and a half to two minutes, but AFTER - some ten to twenty minutes after - an eighth grain of Animated Ash has been given. Put the Ash dry upon the tongue and take with a swallow of water.

15. In the diet, - use strained oatmeal, and all the beef juice the body will take - and this may be taken as medicine, every two hours half to a teaspoonful. But sip this, - don’t try to swallow, - just let it, as it were, be assimilated by the gastric flow.

16. DO give enemas to evacuate the colon, - do this every other day if possible.

17. These, as we find, offer the greater possibilities, - if there is the attitude of sincerity, of purposefulness, there may be aid.

19. (Q) Any spiritual advice? (A) As has been indicated, be purposeful in self. These as we find are the attitudes:

What would the body do WITH itself IF healed? Promise that - believe it - DO it!

R1. 3/5/42 Letter from wife: “He has shown quite a bit of improvement in the last 10 days. He is able to rest and do more sleeping than he has done in quite some time. He has more color in his face and up until the last couple days he could not even lay on his back because the pressure was so severe that it choked him. Now he can lay on his back for a few minutes. Yesterday afternoon he had a hard spell with his chest. He felt as if he could not stand the pain. He has another thru the night, and off and on today. He is coughing some now. I would like for you to give me a Ck. Rdg. and know the improvements more definite and if there should be some changes made. I am thanking you very much and hope to hear from you right away.”

R2. 3/10/42 Questions: “Even the medical doctor admits he is better” - via Mrs. [2650] and Mrs. [263]: “They weren’t going to follow the reading, since they’d started a course of treatments under Dr. Carl S. Frischkorn [N.D.] - but when they went back to him and told him of the reading he told them to go right back home and start following the reading, that if the reading couldn’t help him, nothing could - that he couldn’t do anything.”
