[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis, Annie, H. L. and L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 417 - 22nd St, 11:25 to 11:35 A.M. Eastern Standard Time. Va. Beach, Va. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [271]; this we have had before.
-
Now, as we find, there are bettered conditions in the general physical forces of the body.
-
There are those reactions that show for the better according of elements which are being assimilated.
-
While these are in the present only impulses through the activities of the centers from which the impulse to and from brain centers shows responses, they are, however, in the right direction.
-
And, as we find, there is only required patience and persistence in the carrying out of those suggestions that have been given.
-
Precautions should be taken that the anodes or plates are in absolute contact with the body when they are ADJUSTED to the body. The one first attached in place first, and each time after the application there should be the precaution immediately that all accumulations from body-contact are removed from the plate. Well that this also be done just before attaching or applying to the body.
-
The centers to which these attachments are applied; these are very well. Be careful that these are applied, however, in the same places each time; and that there are also those suggestions that have been outlined given the body while it rests or sleeps, in a POSITIVE manner - that there is being accorded in the system, through the active forces of the elements being applied, that which will produce the proper coordination in the active forces of the inner self, or the regulations of the mental and physical body in accordance with those elements that will make for better creative forces in the active parts of the mental and physical body. Through the powers of the life giving forces themselves bringing the better activity for a more normal mental and physical body.
-
As to exercises and diet, these are being accorded VERY well. Also the recreation, the reading, the studying, or the analyzing of associations about the body. Keep these in the channels that have been outlined.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) When he is depressed or moody, which would be the most successful way to cooperate or help him? (A) The most successful way is to accomplish this through the suggestive forces of the body, as we have indicated.
As for material meeting of conditions, these are in accord with that given: Patience, loving-kindness, and the like. Not too positive, as to create that of animosity. Not too sympathetic, as to make for the pitying of self. But rather that which makes for constructive influences for the surroundings of the body.
-
(Q) What is cause of groaning awake and asleep? (A) Mental incoordination.
-
(Q) Any other advice? (A) Do this, as we have outlined, for the present.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 3/29/33 EC’s letter to Dr. A. J. Foerter: ”…We have a [case [271]] here at the present time, whom I may have mentioned to you before, that I think would be of real interest to you. It is a case of what the profession has diagnosed as dementia praecox. This, I know you have found, covers a great multitude of conditions and degrees of advancement of the condition.
“It is quite an unknown quantity, if I understand what the profession generally has said about such. I’ll be glad to give you as much of the history of the case as conditions develop, as you would like to have, and to tell you what results if any - come from applying the suggestions made in the reading. It has been very gratifying to all here that we have been able to interest one of the local M.D.’s in observing the case from week to week. The treatments so far have been given only a couple of weeks. They comprise principally applications to different forms of batteries that have been made through directions from the readings. Of course, it is entirely too soon to know whether we see any changes or not. The young man (who is 34 yrs. old and who has had the condition for 3 or 4 years) was in an institution. The reactions that appear so satisfactory may be only the momentary adjustment of himself to the present surroundings, but it looks like there might be help - if we are to put much confidence in the information we have received.
”…The case will be a very definite test if we are able to carry out the instructions…”
R2. 3/30/33 letter from mother: “Enclosed find check $10.00. News about [271] is most encouraging. Please tell Sister Annie I am mailing out a letter to her Saturday.”
